There was a mother who visited this temple with her two kids. She was a devotee of Lord Shiva . While the kids went to take a bath in the pond a crocodile ate up her child. She ran and cried to the Lord, upon which Lord Shiva gave the child back to the parent. This is depicted at multiple places in the temple. It's a huge temple and they open at 5am daily.
