Entrance of Balurghat Town. Named as a Armoured Tank of India is here. The tank was gifted by Indian Army after they won the Battle of 1971 with Pakistan. A sign of victory.

Entrance of the town. A tank left by the Indian Army during the 1971 war against Pakistan showcased there by the Municipality. Balurghat Super speciality Hospital is there. Majority of Chambers of Private Doctors and laboratories are there! The national highway 512 bifurcated into two there to enter into the town.

Tank More is, basically an intersection ( that's what a 'More' means) which serves as the most iconic landmark of the town. It's main attraction is it's Real Army Tank( American Built) that dates back to 1971 Indo- Pakistan war.

Bangladesh War of Independence, or simply the Liberation War in Bangladesh, was a revolution and armed conflict sparked by the rise of the Bengali nationalist and self-determination movement in what was then East Pakistan during the 1971 Bangladesh genocide. It resulted in the independence of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The war began after the Pakistani military junta based in West Pakistan launched Operation Searchlight against the people of East Pakistan on the night of 25 March 1971. It pursued the systematic elimination of nationalist Bengali civilians, students, intelligentsia, religious minorities and armed personnel. The junta annulled the results of the 1970 elections and arrested Prime minister-designate Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The war ended on 16 December 1971 after West Pakistan surrendered

It's the main entrance to the town. Now nicely decorated. As the name suggests, one can see a Pakistani tank which was captured by Indian Army in 1971 war and was presented to the people of Balurghat for their active cooperation in the war against Pakistan.

Balurghat is no longer a one horse sleepy town. It has come of age. Balurghat Tank More is more than a "more" - a turn. It has the District Hospital, BDO Office, Satyajit Mancha and Income Tax Dept, pathology and clinics on it. A 1971 Indo-Pak War Patton Tank, used by Pak Army, stands witness to the fact that our bravehearts gave Pakis a red nose that day. This place has an important place in the heart of this cultural town.

This place is one of the most landmark point of Balurghat town. During 1971 wars, as we all know well that, Indian Army helped East Pakistanis to retaliate Khan Senas or Pakistani Army. Finally Gen Niyaji surrendered with all his soldiers before Indian Army on 16th December 1971. Indian Army brought a Patton Tank as Victory Memorabilia at their Balurghat Base. Later West Bengal Govt set up that patton tank at this point (মোড়) and thus the point named as "Tank More"
