This museum is admittedly dwarfed by the National Museum but if it was in any other city around the world it would be a prized possession. The artifacts and sculptures are displayed chronologically. The amount of glass were and ceramic were in good condition is amazing. Very good descriptions and collection. One is not overwhelmed. Be sure and visit the Geological dusplays at the adjacent Department of Geology. Both museums are free of charge. Located on the verdant grounds of the historic American University of Beirut.

You will not be able to visit this museum. "Entry is forbidden" due to covid. Which is fine but they definitely should have put that on the website.

One of the most beautiful university campuses I’ve ever seen! Loads of greenery, including some really spectacular banyan trees, and some interesting architecture, most notably Issam Fares institute building by Zaha Hadid.

The OLDEST museum in the region. Go enjoy a walk in AUB's beautiful campus then pop into a very well-designed, clean, informative, and well organised museum capturing and describing artifacts of multiple periods in human history.

Very nice archeological museum, with over four different rooms each room containing see through protection glass and each glass represents a certain era in the period of humanity dating from the first found plates all the way to stone age tools and ceramic items. All giving an aesthetically pleasing feels knowing that American University of Beirut has one of the best archaeological museums internationally, proving as a pride to the Lebanese and their dedication. More over there exists a geological museum on the top floors containing very rare sitings of all the different geostones one can find in very rare locales.

(Translated by Google) This museum is worth a visit. It is the oldest museum in the Middle East and clearly shows the archaeological history. The museum is very beautiful inside and clearly decorated. The museum has a lift and is therefore accessible for wheelchair users and / or people with reduced mobility. At least 2 hours ahead to view everything. It is forbidden to take photos from the inside.
