A true hidden gem! Great place for a hike. In my opinion, have a partner with you though as its kind of secluded.

Nice easy walk, good seating and wonderful bird watching. The great blue heron sat motionless for about an hour, the ospreys were diving for fish and the birds were merrily chirping in the trees.

Absolutely beautiful foliage at this time of the year. This hidden gem is between Belmont Lake State Park and Argyle Pond, so many people have missed it. This tiny little park is beautiful, dogs friendly and the trails are easy to walk. You may need to share the path with horses if you are luck to see one. Limited Parking spaces are on the south end of the park.

Really cool little park with a large pond. Not buggy. Lots of tree covered benches. Few bugs. Swans and a nice vista.

Love going to this park. There's parking all around that you can find. The easiest spot would be next to the garden store. There's cool signs describing the wildlife here, so I think it'd be a nice spot to take young ones. They just did a country fair here this past weekend that we really enjoyed.

Great fishing pond it has largemouth bass, bluegill , punkinseed , Golden shiners and brook trout I heard it also has chain pickerel ,bullhead catfish and brown and rainbow trout and yellow perch and more . It also has a like of fun hiking trails. It has no bathrooms. It's also good sightseeing as your will see ospreys . frogs and ducks and more your can also go horsebacking riding there also

Beautiful pond! A real hidden gem, so nice to stop for a break during our bike ride along the path and take in the beauty nature has to offer at Southards Pond!

Connects to trails that circle Belmont Lake, and run beneath both Montauk Highway and Southern State, for a nice, 6.8 mile route. The trails can flood and muddy up at times. Watch for horse droppings.

Beautiful scenery and pretty smooth parts of the trail for roller skating! A lot of the path is too bumpy for it but between sunrise and where you end up next to bethpage parkway is great.

The biking, walking and jogging trails are excellent. Especially for the beginner. Mostly flat terrain but, long distances are available.

Great flat wide trail for running or biking adjacent to the pond. Trail heads further north to Belmont lake state park. Home of the Dirty Sock 10k race.

Love it but get yourself a map or you will end up in Belmont State Park like I did. Great walk, sadly alot of cyclist use the same trails so you have to be careful. Also alot of e bike are in the trails which kind of takes away from enjoying the nature walk.

Place was nice and quiet. No bites fishing that day. I stayed 1 hour and left. Pretty large body of water

This park is in the middle of a nice residential area, with an entrance easily missed. But once you walk into the park it starts to open up, with a nice lake, foot paths and stream. Very pet friendly, and most people using the park are outgoing and friendly also. Lots of fishing going on, but I have not experienced it first hand. Quiet, clean and well maintained. If you follow some trails you'll come across horseback riders, too.

If you never been there it's a great find and a amazing walk in nice paths you can push a stroller with ease and ride a bike if you please, but mostly make some nice memories, so enjoy the few pictures with my families memories...

I love coming here. I always go with someone and walk around the lake. Very nice park to walk and sit down. The prices per vehicle is as expected.

The park is great and all but there is no lights in the tunnel by the highway.

We went there for pictures of my daughter's wedding. It was a bit muddy and freezing. Pictures were cut short. Other then that, the place has paths that go on forever, horse stables, Belmont state park. In fall, beautiful colors of leaves around a lake.

Top notch Trails for biking & walking. My wife & I visit often.Bicycling from Belmont park to Argyle Park.Relaxing 1/2 way and taking in the scenery on one of the benches that run along the pond.

I enjoy the walk in the woods leading up to and surrounding the pond. There are benches to sit on, fishing in the area, and dogs playing in the water, when its warmer. if you continue on the trail you'll get to Belmont State park. the trail is well maintained and you may run into horses on your walk. People use the paths for walking, jogging, and biking. The only downside are people who feel they dont have to follow the law and let their dogs run free off the leash.

Beautiful will kept park, great walking paths and trails, but dirt/gravel so you need a jogging stroller, a regular stroller is very bumpy. Great for dogs and bikes.
