At first sight it looks like a great place. And the fitness club, sport pool and women sauna are really good. But the general sauna area (mandatory to take off your clothes what Germans call 'FKK') is the issue. Not a place to take your children or teenagers. It's the kind of place where a man in his fifties will tell young teenage girls to remove their bikinis. Where you have middle-aged blokes strategically placed in clear view of the pool stairs to watch people take off their towels and robes to enter the water. And it's the place where overseas relatives go to watch and openly admit doing so. It looks nice and upmarket on the surface but sleazy and highly questionable in its core. My children or I won't go near it anymore.

Where do I even start. Such a bad experience with the Aspria group on a whole and so many things that went wrong during our vacation. Our first stop was in the Aspria Hamburg hotel which was just super awful - Google and you might find my review. Basically, that one revolved around an extremely rude reception manager. Unfortunately, we had already booked our stay in Aspria Hannover so off we went. Immediately things went wrong. We had booked two sea view rooms, but only got one whilst the other one was street view. We were given the runaround by the receptionist who literally lied in my face and when we later realized we had been scammed, we confronted them. That's when they admitted they had done 'wrong' (in reality they had overbooked and tried to bs their way out of it) and that indeed we had booked two sea view rooms. Lost one day sitting in that dull, awful room and they didn't even bother to compensate us for it which is just infuriating. The next bad experience happened when we went to eat at their restaurant. Not only was the quality of the food awful, but my son got pieces of glass in his drink which was just shocking! Went to inform the staff and they literally just didn't seem to care as if it happens every day. They just gave us new drinks and that was that. Hope others didn't get glass in their drinks too because they must have dropped a glass in their ice dispenser. Then, next morning came time for breakfast. No breakfast for us says the staff. Not included for us. Yes, I tried to explain to them, we had paid for breakfast included. Sigh. Went to buy breakfast at McDonald's, but confronted them again when I got back and, of course, they now realized we had indeed paid for breakfast. Compensated €50 for that (but only after I demanded compensation mind you, these incompetent people won't do anything about it otherwise). I don't care about the money, it's the principle of things that matters. The whole situation was super inconvenient for us. There were other things as well, but I can't be bothered to bring them up here. I just can't see where the positive reviews are coming from. It seems so far from the truth. The hotel is much lower quality than advertised (although the spa is ok), but the worst part is how the staff handles these situations which is a massive deal-breaker. The only way I can describe it is incompetence. Obviously, I've stayed in many hotels all over the world and always do my best to do some research before I book anything, but this was a massive letdown. It's not like it's the cheapest option either. In retrospect I would never have come here. We tried to do our best to enjoy our vacation, but it wasn't easy when the staff are constantly working against you.

Returning member here. I travel back and forth to Germany. Called a couple of days ago to renew my membership. Someone picked up, I asked if there’s anyone available who speaks English and the person immediately hung up on me! I called 5 times again and was ignored the first 3 times then the other 2 times they cancelled my call/blocked my number. I completely understand if the staff doesn’t speak English but to hang up on my face? Seriously? Is this the kind of customer service the most expensive gym in Hannover has to offer? Could have simply continued speaking German or answer with “no sorry” and I would just call back another time.

From the website it appears that all rooms have the same category and price. Also it seems that all rooms have lakeside view. Yes; almost all rooms. I seem to end up in a room that was farthest away from all the action and with a panoramic view of the …...parking lot. And it was only the parking lot that could be seen. Since it is a popular Sports-club, the parking lot was constantly crowded with people so I had to close the darkening curtains to prevent people waving at me while I was undressing. There were no other (lighter) drapes so I had to switch on the lights during daytime. Also I had to keep the windows closed at night because of the constant noise from the car and train traffic (trains run right behind the parking lot). I requested the reception to possibly find me another room but naturally they told me that all was full. When you completely are into training your body you could have a swell time at Aspria. When you are also into keeping your body healthy, food wise; you better look elsewhere. I had dinner in the restaurant (to at least enjoy some of the lake view) and found that only the very small portions are healthy. The variety and quality of the meal was more like the standard offering you can find in every low (burgerlich) class German restaurant. We know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day to keep your body healthy. Aspria Hotel apparently never heard of this statement because there was less offering than a basic bed&Breakfast. Also the offering contained mainly the body health killers like scrambled eggs/bacon/white bread rolls. When I requested muesli (it was not present at the buffet!), I was provided with one! small jar of mixed standard supermarket stuff. Showering was a challenge also. It seems that my 6-feet height is unusually tall for Aspria because the shower tube did not provide the length that would enable me to really stand under it while showering. Also the shower head holder did not remain in this elevated position. But that is something that might be repairable. All in all; Maybe the lake side rooms are nice (just hope you get one). Go there when you work on your outer body; Don’t go there when you care for your inner body.

Aspria is one of the most amazing fitness studios I’ve been to. Neat surroundings and has amazing staff❤️. With great Lakeside view.

The infinity pool it’s amazing. And there are 8 saunas, two of them with panorama view to the lake!!!

I have an annual package with Aspria, and visit relatively often the Gym and Fitness section: - gym is most of the time super overcrowded - infrastructure and machines are extremely old and unmodern - staff, esp. reception and sales / client management team are unprofessional und lacking any kind of client oriented communication skills (incl. arrogant emails, ignoring points agreed, having often no respect at all to us as clients, etc.) - expensive fees At the positive side: the location is amazing but overall this is the almost only thing which could be mentioned as positive.

In the heart of hannover city.

We booked the location in January and expected the advertised working spaces, meeting rooms and were disappointed to learn that they were not available. We would not have booked the hotel without that claim. The room was old, not sound isolated, the bathroom and showers in the SPA and the rooms need renovation with mildew building up in various spots. The saunas were still enjoyable.

I love Aspria. I am a member since the beginning of the summer and it feels like a second home (far away from home). One can workout, relax, eat and also find some space to work (in the cafeteria or outside during the summer days) :). I like all the fitness classes that are being offered and I like the general atmosphere. I find people to be very friendly (both the staff and the members).

Nice room, amazing views. But running a petrol-powered leaf blower over the entire length of the hotel (between rooms and lake) for an hour at 6.30am is simply poor management for any Spa hotel.

It’s nice but it’s pricey. I have been to better one with cheaper price.

The best fitness and wellness club at Hannover with 8 Saunas and four pools and countless equipments and classes. If you love a healthy way of living and are willing to pay extra for it, here is the perfect place to go!

It's toooooo dirty, there the swans made the whole beach dirty but no one bothered to clean it, you have to pay for sitting there, it's not expensive but we deserve a clean beach 🏖

****READ IT. VERY IMPORTANT**** The location is good and also the view. The Spa center is great but don't book a massage. We paid for 60 min massage and we got only 40-45 min massage. We also reported this to the main desk but they did nothing. Book only for the Spa center if you go here. Because of that the only option that i got is Google Reviews.
