Simply breathtaking. I’ve been to many hotels all over the world, in every category. I can honestly say I’ve never been to a hotel where every single possible detail is so thoughtfully considered. We were there almost a year ago, as a present to my partner for his birthday. Ever since we’ve been plotting excuses to make the 200km journey just to visit it once more. I don’t easily give good reviews (as a minimum amount of research will show 😁). Let’s start with the welcome: we were made to feel like we were the only guests in the hotel. Every effort was made to simplify and make us comfortable. The owner of the hotel took care of details himself without a moments hesitation, which others may have palmed off to staff. Our room was immaculately clean, and bursting with character. Here again, all possible details were considered. We used the sauna which was wonderful, then proceeded to dinner. Here, my hat really goes off to the chefs & front of house. It was executed like an orchestra. The wait staff where completely knowledgeable about the dishes, how they were conceived, the ingredients, why a certain approach was taken. Our waiter really took us on a journey, but at the same time with the skill of being unobtrusive. The food was exciting, genuinely world class, and one could really sense with every taste the love & labour from the chef. I’ve been to one, two and three-Michelin star restaurants - also great restaurants with no stars. I remain speechless at the fact that this restaurant has (or had in September 2021) no stars. I am not overreaching when I say this place would be deserving of no less than 3. The hotel (-and especially the restaurant) is quite expensive in all honestly. But this is a prime example of getting what you pay for. Kind regards, VERY satisfied customer who would gladly come again (and again!!) and recommend to all I know.

This place is hard to beat. Great location across from an old church and a very short walk to where the Christmas Markets are located. Stayed for 3 nights in the family suite room 7, and absolutely loved this place. Hotel staff are very friendly and attentive, the rooms ambiance and layout are perfect. Crack a window and you can hear the church bells on the hour. HerR- the intimate restraunt is a must do even if you’re not staying here. Filip and Sacha are amazing!! It’s elevated dining with sublime service. This is Michelin star level fare and experience with a much more personal touch. We loved it so much we dined twice. Each night we got the opportunity to get to know Filip and hear the story of how the Restaurant was started, and a little about them as people. It’s a dining experience we will use to measure against, and we will be telling people about for a long time to come. Don’t miss out, make space to visit. It was more than just an amazing meal it was an event.

First of all, we're sort of hotel experts. We love to travel, stay over a couple of days, and move along. So, we know hotels! But, we were flabbergasted by this special place. Of course, there's the town, which is just something else, but then there is this nostalgic hotel. We're in love with it. It's feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel. But it doesn't stop there. The service of the staff is tremendous. They make you feel special from the moment you arrive until the day you leave. I gave 5 stars, just because you can't give 6. From the breakfast to restaurant suggestions to the cheap valet service (driving in those narrow streets can be a challenge). It's just too much to mention. The room was lovely. The only thing is that there is no air conditioning as mentioned, but frankly, we didn't need one. So far, it's been the best thing on our trip, and the authentic town is a must-see. It's just highly recommended and then some... The first time I'll say thank you to a hotel... 😉🫡

Simply the best hotel experience my wife and I have ever had! The service is absolutely amazing. You are treated like royalty as soon as you step on the property. It was the best possible way for us to start our 20th anniversary trip. We stayed in 9 hotels throughout Germany and Switzerland and the folks at the Herrnschlösschen Hotel set the bar too high for the others to reach. The room was very nice. IT HAD A FAN. What a wonderful thing during the recent heat wave. Cold drinks in the mini bar. Luggage retrieved from and later stowed in the car. A breakfast experience like no other. If you are staying in Rothenburg then stop looking and book this hotel. It is like staying in a fairytale house in a fairytale town.

Been here one morning just to have coffee and enjoy the garden. The staff is very nice, great service. Loved the location, they helped us with parking the car as well. The interior is so beautiful as well as the garden, alot of greenery, the atmosphere is quite calming and lovely.

Enjoyed our one night stay in the room 8 family suite. It’s 5 stars for Rothenburg - there isn’t a better option - and the people are super nice. Roll in beds for the kids were not great, one was very squeaky, but again I don’t think there is a better alternative other than maybe getting two rooms here or at the Burg, which looked similar. Excellent location. Good breakfast. Friendly service, they park your car for you.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The two brothers work there (I will mess up the spelling of their names) jengis and sino made my experience wonderful. Getting to the hotel is very difficult… you have to drive through swarms of people, and I called the hotel very confused on where I should go. They basically told me just get as close as possible and then came out and moved my car to the parking because I had no idea where to go. From then on it was smooth sailing, the room was beautiful, breakfast was included and delicious (and once again the brothers provided amazing service), and when I left they went over the top to make sure I knew how to get out of the town and to my next destination. Thank you for making my first night in Germany so wonderful and welcoming!

This hotel and the service are simply superb. We stayed in the Green Leaf suite and it was absolutely wonderful. We stayed an extra night because we loved the hotel so much. We will certainly be back! The only caveat to be aware of is that there is no elevator but they will happily bring your bags upstairs for you. We had backpacks and don't mind the exercise but it could be a problem for someone elderly or in poor health.

Fabulous service, exceptionally helpful - from giving directions, to parking vehicles, helping with luggage, and making reservations. Very comfortable room, with lots of space. Great location to explore. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Beautiful location and incredible staff. Parking through town can be tough, but the staff greets you, parks your car, and provides beverages. Amazing dinner experience and great location to walk through town.

The hotel looks great from the photos and my wife and I were planning on visiting later this month. However, during the booking process, the system obviously glitched and showed a reservation for the same day we booked (July 24, 2023) as well as a stay for the following night (July 25, 2023). Despite being different check in days, the system generated the same confirmation number (DSQSR4). Immediately contacted the hotel and they advised them of the error and notified them we would still like to stay, they advised we could not get a refund because of their cancellation policy. Needless to say, we are not staying here on our visit as their customer service is clearly lacking.

This hotel is amazing. The couple that owns the hotel go above and beyond to make your stay magical. I highly recommend booking a dinner with them-the food is incredible. Everything is wonderful-location, cleanliness, rooms, ambiance, food, customer service. If we ever get the chance to return to Rothenburg, we are most definitely staying here again.

The hotel is in the perfect location - close to everything but quiet. The garden is a particular treasure. The room we stayed in (zimmer 3) was quirky and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and the use of a close car park very useful. The breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend this hotel

We truly had a wonderful stay here. From the time we arrived, until we left, the service was absolutely amazing. The nice gentleman who helped us with our bags and parked our car was so friendly and put our mind about the check-in at ease. With a welcome drink we enjoyed the beautiful patio and relaxed while our suitcases were brought up to the rooms. The rooms were spacious and the minibar was stocked with beverages we were able to enjoy (for free - wow!). What a service. The breakfast next day was served by a very sweet young lady and was very very good. Wonderful choice of breakfast items. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Rothenburg. Highly recommend this hotel. Location is right where you want to be. We travelled quite a bit around the world and have not had many wonderful experiences like this. Thank you to the hardworking staff and owners of this hotel. Your guests recognize your dedication!!!

Fantastic experience all around. Wonderful location, warm, attentive service and beautiful rooms and garden. Restaurant was closed for dinner the night we stayed but breakfast was fabulous. Will definitely be going back!

This small hotel looked like the best place to book in Rothenberg. Despite my tendency to go "middle of the road" on price, I decided to splurge since this would be our hotel for our the first two nights of our post pandemic vacation. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It is a small hotel that is super nice in every way. Our host, Bart, spoke perfect English, was a pleasure to talk to, and made some excellent recommendations. We enjoyed two delicious meals at recommended nearby restaurants, and, in general, found Rothenberg to be a interesting, easy, and memorable two day stop.

Had a wonderful time over Ascension Bridge at Herrnschlösschen . Room was welcoming (nr 2, butterflies). Even more welcoming were the owners and staff. (Wish I could add a separate review for the restaurant, but, alas, I seem not to be able to) We had a wonderful evening at Gallery Herrnschlösschen, with a well build menu, and great service (a perfect balance of personal touch for us). Congratulation to the team.

Literally the best hotel experience my wife and I have ever had. The accommodations are wonderful, the staff could not be more friendly/helpful and the food has been amazing. Could not recommend it more highly.

The restaurant: we ate at the restaurant on two evenings in row. We liked the atmosphere and our kids enjoyed the garden. Meat dishes were pretty much perfect, fish and vegetarian options good enough. Best thing was the excellent service.

Excellent in every way! The staff provided us with the best arrival experience that we have ever had at any hotel: taking our bags and car while we sat in the back and had something to drink. We did this while talking to the owners, who are stellar people. The room was fantastic and overlooked the Church. We loved that, and also, the town of Rothenburg. Breakfast in the garden was amazing as well! In short, if you are looking for a hotel in Rothenburg, look no further as this is your place!

Wonderful hotel and very friendly staff and perfect location. The room was super clean, spacious, and cozy with a great vibe. The bedroom is in a loft with a great view of the town and the area. My daughter and I arrived on a Friday night and enjoyed walking around Rothenburg ob der Tauber that evening. Since this is not a 24 hour hotel, staff leave at night which is fine. My only issue is the next morning there is no coffee or tea. The room had a coffee maker with pods and tea bags but no sugar and cream. Like other German hotels, it would also be great if they had a commercial automatic coffee/latte machine for guests in the morning. Also, I would have expected a small, easy buffet like fresh rolls and meats and cheeses for those that don’t like big breakfasts. I gave it 4 stars due to the value versus the experience.

This place was absolutely amazing and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always very eager to help and make sure that we had a comfortable stay. The room was beautiful and very clean and it also had a huge bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic every morning and we even had dinner at the restaurant which was quite a treat. I highly recommend for anyone that visits Rothenburg to stay here. It is by far one of the best places I have stayed at.

Lovely meal with an arranged birthday cake. The staff were helpful and friendly. The beetroot mousse and salmon starter was amazing. I ordered the steak with liver and it was smooth and tasty. Would definitely eat there again.

This is truly a superb, original hotel. Located in the heart of medieval Rothenburg, the hotel and its garden are unlike any I've ever stayed at before. Every room is different. Ours was a junior suite on the top floor. It had an ante-room, a very large main room with sitting area, and an upstairs loft with a couch and table. We were surprised to find that there were lights on the ceiling (2 stories up) that looked like the night sky when the other lights were off. It was like sleeping out under the stars. We were like a couple of kids when we stumbled on that switch. The shower was fun too. I don't think that showers have been fun since I was 6 or 7, but this one was. The water came from either an over head faucet, a hand held (you could put it into a stand) device and/or 3 jets as knee, middle and chest heights. Add to this the wonderful staff and you have a perfect experience.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at this gorgeous boutique hotel. We were greeted with a drink in the exquisite lobby and made to feel at home. The accommodations were immaculate, stately and comfortable. Everyone that works here is very kind and cheerful. We had a terrific breakfast. The town is absolutely idyllic and this is clearly the best place to stay.
