I only ate here (twice) Service is great, food is disappointing. The vegetables they serve are very overcooked, and probably previously frozen. Mufflon is overcooked, chicken with tomato and mozzarella was not overcooked, but the cheese was stringy and plasticy. The tomatoes underneath were raw and not salted. Minor improvements to the cooking would have made this meal much better.

Beautiful location and great to see a couple of vegan options on the menu. We had a spinach strudel and soy nuggets which were both tasty, if a little simple. Definitely value for money though and would recommended

Nice location. Big old fashioned rooms but good quality. Food was good and service ok. Only negative was the smell, I dont know if this was due to the weather or something else but there was an unpleasant smell in the room and outside.

Nice place to grab a meal. Prices are ok and the restaurant is situated in an impressive, small valley. Best during the warmer month, when open air dining is possible.

We were walking from Rathen to Hohstein when we got caught in a hail and thunderstorm. The lovely lady from the guesthouse came out and insisted that we come in out of the wild weather. We than dried out and and warmed up with a hot coffee and some plum kuchen! With her limited English and our limited German she then helped us figure out the way to the bus stop back to Pirna after the storm had subsided.
