Relaxing place. Wonderful view from top of the mountain.

Buddha statue under construction on top of a hill in close proximity to Badulla Town. The summit gives great 360° view of Badulla valley and Namunukula mountain range. Access is along a narrow but recently renovated road right up to summit.

Very beautiful 360 degree view

Nice view point in Badulla. You can see the whole town from here. You can drive all the way to the top and there are a few parking spaces so it's really convenient. But that's about it. There's nothing much you can do there other than getting a few pictures. The Buddha statue was still under construction when I last visited.

It's too long to get to the destination, but it's far more beautiful than the distance you traveled. If you're are willing to go, I would recommend to go with friends by walking.

These days this place is very cold. Mist is everywhere around the statue. Come to enjoy the view if there is no the mist. You can see entire badulla town, Namunukula, Narangala, Rideepana and Mahiyangana as well. Building the statue is temporary hold because of the raining. Vehicles can be parked on the top of the mountain without any issue. When you come this place please don't forget to donate something as a contribution to build this statue. Everyday there is a dedicated person in the office to collect the donations. Thank you for every donators because they are reason that we could build this statue so far.
