Lengthy review with information for tourists: Cabbage beach is a very beautiful beach located on Paradise Island. The shoreline is always kept clean and and free of sea weed. Most Nassuvians frequent this beach as it's the prettiest beach closest in driving distance to our island. It's also my favorite place to swim during low tide in the summer. Info for tourists: There are multiple entrances to this beach. Two main entrances are free, hotel entrances may not be. So ask your taxi driver to take you to the free beach or free entrance to the main beach on Paradise Island. Once you arrive, if you don't want to be hassled by local vendors selling stuff, as soon as you reach the shore of the beach, take a right and walk towards the eastern part of the beach. The eastern point is the opposite direction of all of the hotels. Keep going until you are no longer surrounded by tons of people. You will know you are going in the right direction if you see rocks leading out to the ocean. Wheel chair info: One of the free entrances is wheel chair accessible, but involves a bit of a steep incline for the first half of the way and right at the end. While the other free entrance includes steps to get on to the beach. My mother who has issues with her knees prefers the former as the steps can be tricky to navigate when you get to the last two steps. Those last few steps are steep. Other info: Don't swim during high tide. You may not need to worry though as Atlantis and Comfort Suites hotels often close their access to the beach when the tide is high. However, if you take one of the free entrances and find yourself still able to access the beach during high tide, know that the large waves have a dangerous undertoe. That undertoe can pull you under very easily and keep you under for awhile until the waves break at the shoreline. If you aren't experienced at holding your breath, It wouldn't be wise to brave those waves. Please, especially with kids, be safe. To avoid all of this, just go on a hot day, when it's not windy. You will definitely find a calm beach with tranquil waters waiting for you to splash and swim around in them. It's so nice to relax at this beach. Just know that a visit is always worth it, even if you aren't able to swim because of high tide. However, if you find yourself there during high tide, just grab your towel, sit, enjoy the breeze, read a book, build a sand castle, chat, etc. and stay to watch the sunset. It's still worth it. Pictures from multiple trips to the beach: The first few photos show cabbage beach as high tide is building up in the evening during sunset. The last few pictures are mid-day when the sun is bright and the waters are calm and perfect for swimming.

Nice public beach to enjoy the Bahamian waters! There are some street vendors that sell pineapple drinks and are pushy, but after we told them a decisive no, they left us alone to enjoy the beach. There is some great shade if you need to get out of the sun, courtesy of some beautiful evergreen trees.

One of the best beaches I've ever been to Bar None! Water is clean and beautiful, the beach is huge with plenty of room to find your own spot.

Disclaimer: this is a review from a solo traveler. The beach itself was beautiful. Once you got into the water, it was a little rough with little biting animals. While I was swimming I could feel little stings, like something was biting me & left marks. Turns out it was little jellyfish! Now onto lounging on the sand. Every 5-10 minutes a vendor tried to sell something to me, from pineapple drinks to cigars to shells. Mind you this is after I spent $45 for a chair & umbrella! There are also so many tourists and people i general. It felt like I was competing for space in the ocean. I wouldn’t recommend this beach to anyone looking for a little peace and quiet, b/c it definitely wasn’t that.

Awesome Beach if you're heading a little to the east to get loose from the crowded entrance with lots of hotel guests and promotors, who are trying to sell you alcohol. The beach is very clean, white sand and best water. Better bring your own chairs and umbrellas with you, otherwise you get caught from the promotors. Go through the crowded part and you'll have an awesome Beach with less people Little thing to add: there are not many parking spaces, if you're heading there during the day. But when the promotors are gone approximately after 4pm the parking situation gets better.

A bus took us from the cruise ship straight to the beach entrance. A vendor sold us 2 chairs and an umbrella for 20 bucks. The water was beautiful with just the right amount of waves for my kids to enjoy. What a wonderful place!

Beautiful public beach on Paradise Island. The street vendors can be pushy but just ignore them if you're not interested in renting a chair or umbrella. They sell drinks too but honestly they are terrible.

Amazing! Make sure to wear your sunscreen. Turquoise water and no seaweed. The peddlers aren't pushy and everyone is friendly. The east end of the beach has calm area protected from the large waves if you are with children.

Well-maintained, free public access beach. Lots of vendors offering chairs, umbrellas and jet skis to rent, and the rates were not overly expensive. The vendors were courteous and take a polite no for an answer. Cab fare back to the cruise terminal was $4 per person. We were really glad we saved the resort admission fees and went here instead.

The beach and water is beautiful but the waves are somewhat scary and unexpected. We lost our sunglasses in the waves - they come out of nowhere! But relaxing on the beach watching the waves made for a good beach day. We rented an umbrella for $20 for the whole day and you could also get refillable coconut drinks for $20 all day. Lost of opportunities to do water sports including jet skis and paragliding.

The Best beach in Nassau with the Bluest waters, and very friendly and helpful locals trying to make your experience FUN with $20 all you can drink Coconut or Pineapple drinks. They even rent out beach chairs and umbrellas for a very reasonable amount. This Beautiful beach is safe and you walk down to Atlantis and take pictures

A beautiful clean beach at paradise island. White sand and blue water. Paradise island has so many private beaches and buildings on shore, its hard to find such pristine beach. Whole family enjoyed the time here. Walking distance from most hotels. No shops near by for beach stuff.

Beautiful beach, easily accesible from Nassau by taking the Paradise Island ferry, followed by a short 10-15 min walk. The beach itself has public access and offers the possibility of renting both an umbrella and chairs. Drinks are pricey, though, costing twice as much as anywhere else on Nassau, so if possible bring your own supply and a backpack cooler. Crystal clear blue water, perfect for a swim. Do mind the gnarly beachbreak (which in any case may perhaps be the main source of fun for most beachgoers anyway). I think it's fair to say Cabbage is the finest beach in New Providence / Nassau, and I'd definitely label it a 'must-see'

Beautiful, amazing beach. Right next to the Atlantis beach, which is identical - no need to pay Atlantis prices. Just go to the public beach (access near the Riu) and enjoy for free!

Free beach access with plenty of natural shades. Went to Atlantis/Paradise Island and realized that everything nowadays has either a long line or requires a wristband (registered guests for the hotel or the waterpark). That was not the case years ago. Anyway, the beach is about 7 mins walk away from the hotel/casino, so we just took a little hike to the beach to enjoy a charming hour of beach time here.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Any day at the beach is a good day; however a day on the Western Esplande Beach is an incredible one. It is walking distance from the cruise port, passing gifts shops, historic buildings and different photo ops. So much fun, that any thing I write in the review just wont do it justice.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Lovely beach and park. For Bahamians who haven't been here in a while, the beach has been cleaned and now it is absolutely gorgeous to go and swim in. It's the next Cabbage beach. It really looks that much better.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Wonderful free public beach with some fish (if you want to see an abundant of fish, it’s worth paying for snorkelling at Clifton just down the road). Clean & calm waters, lots of parking, and not too busy (no vendors or anyone bothering you). Many locals frequent here as well.
