I have only visited this park once, but I saw some obvious drug sales going down and one homeless man harass and then assault and batter another homeless man; it was a little disturbing. My family went to take pictures which I think turned out nicely, the park has some good places for a pic and there were others there doing a photo shoot.

Bum park is still accurate, trash park could be an alternative moniker. Came for an early morning stroll - friendly stranger warned me not to come at night. Lots of birds, and lots more trash -at least it would entertain your dog.

Beautiful, breathtaking <3 You can relax and enjoy the water sounds and watch the ducks, you can go there to paint, and you can take pictures with everything if you're a style blogger. I'm actually going to start coming here from now on to teach fashion illustration. My students loved the inspirational decor and fresh air.

I love this PARK! However the last 18 months to 2 years, it has GONE DOWN HILL FAST. ITS NOT SAFE AT NIGHT LIKE IT USED TO BE. I HAVE LIVED BEHIND IT AND HAVE SEEN HORRIBLE THINGS GOING ON THERE. So SAD 😢 OUR WHOLE CITY'S GOING TO S$_+!!: BE CAREFUL OUT THERE

Nice park, but some areas have been taken by homeless people, there are 3 areas divided by street crossings

We've been fishing here a few times. It's nice but there are some homeless people that are around the park.

This park does very well when it comes to showcasing stress relieving water features & pathways for a good ways walk or early evening stroll

Nice place, perfect for a little day date or to take your kids if you don't mind a couple of individuals washing themselves in the public restrooms. 👍 Ducks are cute as well!

We just live the sound of the water here. Who doesn't live feeding ducks? My family sure does. There is quite a bit of homeless at the park though.

Majority of the park looks presentable, when the water is filled looks peaceful, wouldn't think actual ugly amongst the park. For random visitors not from the area just want to walk to trail take pics on the bridge it's wonderful. At night also peaceful, some fish, not swim friendly at all. No one but fishes ducks lifeguard should be permitted in The water. When the water levels are lowered the bank reveals the rock bed the towers throughout canal flow. Towers boulders of ROCKS every turn rocks. Rocks. Towers of ROCKS water when levels raised flow through

It's a nice place to have a picnic but not too much for kids because there's a lot of homeless staying there If you go at night time it's a beautiful site it's the homeless thing around

Ok so I lived 4 year here in bakersfield and always stayed on the river walk park side. The only bad thing here is to many homelessness staying in the park. But there is good places for pictures here

Nice green park. Playground is nice for toddlers and preteens. Bridge is a nice feature for photo ops, also the pond brings ducks so that cool for kids and adults to feed bread.

It was very peaceful and beautiful aside from a couple homeless people and a few spots covered in trash I really enjoyed walking through and seeing all the bird and ducks out there

I actually really like this park. I love the lagoons and the ducks. I don't blame the homeless for hanging out in the park (I think...if I were homeless where would I go?) But I witnessed open drug use and it wasn't just weed. It's too bad this is a really nice park. I will still go but would be hesitant to bring children here.

Lately trips to Bakersfield have been very routine and plain boring, this morning we stopped at this park and it was the best choice we could have made. We saw geese and learned some of the duck types, we walked around and felt so peaceful, even had a small condo with a fellow park goer. I couldn't help bur take so many pictures, it was just beautiful.

Alright to many homeless around the park and fishing not so good but if you want to get some exercise it's pretty good walk around the park. just don't use the public restroom there nasty dirty homeless use it slot.
