Amazing place! Ambiance is on point and definitely something that Bakersfield needed! Food was delicious and interesting- cocktails were amazing! You can tell there’s so much thought behind each aspect of the restaurant. From decor to ingredients - very very well done!

It was the first time for me over the weekend. The hosts were amazing, but unfortunately, our waitress was not very friendly. I had to be the professional and get her to crack a smile. She then lightened up and was a bit more savory in her waitressing. Took a bit too long for the food to come out, in my opinion. Food was a delight accompanied by some tasty wine. I really enjoyed the live band as we sat and listened from the patio.

We went for brunch - our group ordered a burger (pictured here), grill cheese, and French toast. All of it was delicious! The atmosphere was lovely and had a great vibe. All the staff members that we met were very friendly and fun. This also seems like a great place for evening cocktails, which we'll try next time!

The Botanist is unlike any other cocktail lounge/ restaurant in Bakersfield. It is very apparent that the owners have put so much thought and consideration into every aspect of this business, and it shows the second you walk through the door. The food is elevated and the drinks are unparalleled. This dining/bar experience is truly one you do NOT want to miss!

Wow!!!!! Open only a few months this hip and swanky spot is something Bakersfield has been screaming for! The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date or a gathering with friends. I had a smash vegan burger that will have me coming back for more!!! Layers of beyond meat, grilled pins, vegan cheese, arugula and slices of tomato on a fresh slightly grilled bun. #allerygirl has found the perfect burger. Try it … you too will be back for more.

My husband, our friends, and I went to The Botanist for dinner for our first visit. The prices are a little steep, but the food is delicious and so are the drinks. We had the Smash burger and it was delicious!! The service was great and the atmosphere was so lovely. I’m so excited to see this place flourish here. I definitely recommend it for a nice night out.

Gorgeous vibe and the best cocktails! I get something different every time. They feature seasonal drinks and every hand-crafted cocktail is stunning. The food is exceptional. Such a fun bar to meet up friends!

We went in on Sunday afternoon. Atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable. Server was friendly. Drinks were fantastic. Definitely fine cocktails as advertised. I recommend you add this place to your stops. We didn’t order food, but the dishes we saw being served looked fantastic and the other customers we’re talking about how good the food was too.

I like this restaurant. The appetizers are delicious, and I highly recommend the Brie cheese w/garlic and hummus w/veggies. The Smash burger is also fantastic. However, I find it difficult to read the menu. Yes, lighting helps define a restaurant’s ambience but using a phone light to read the menu should not be necessary. It would also be a great benefit to hear my guests. The music selection and volume is to be desired.

The coolest vibe. They have it decorated for Halloween and play old school horror movies. Atmosphere is amazing. Couldn’t recommend it more. Food is good; loaded fries are amazing but the chicken sandwich was overcooked and had zero flavor.

Looking for a bar to transport you out of Central Valley to downtown pick your fun city. This is the place. Great ambiance, delicious craft cocktails. Had the Zuhka fries. Full of flavor and spices. Emily was so lovely. Will continue coming.

I stopped by The Botanist on a Friday night while visiting Bakersfield—and I was glad I did. The speakeasy-like ambiance and dark, wood-paneled bar help make this a fun place. The food options are limited, but I enjoyed what I ordered. I started off with a baked Brie, elevated by fresh roasted garlic and an ever-so-light honey sauce, with toasted baguette slices. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked—crispy and warm with a good serving of shoestring fries. When it comes to cocktails, this place is outstanding. They offer a number of customized drinks and a nice selection of local beer on tap from the Kern River Brewing Company. The staff is friendly and attentive, and there’s plenty of street parking. If you’re in Bakersfield, this is definitely a worthwhile visit.

A must for downtown Bakersfield. The food is fantastic and the cocktails are delicious. The staff are extremely friendly and the vibe is very chic. Highly recommend the Earl Grey Martini 🍸

Delicious cocktails made by very lovely ladies. I tried the Gigi's Lovers and the Muerte and enjoyed them fully.

The ambiance was great. They have nailed the mid-century modern theme. Menu is short but on point. They have a great drink and food menu. 21+ only but makes for a nice night out. Two people with drinks appetizer and tip you are looking at $125. Worth it imo.

Excellent drinks and food, top notch service, and a distinctive atmosphere make The Botanist a local standout. I'm from the Bay Area, stopped here on a recommendation, and I was blown away. Will definitely go back! What an unexpected gem in downtown Bakersfield...

Came for dinner on a rainy Sunday night. The tea for two cocktail was delicious, the ambiance and service are great. The food is not good for the price. $18ish for a completely average sandwich with no sides. We tried the smash burger and the chicken sandwich.
