This place is the best. Believe all the terrific reviews. Naomi, our server at the counter was so attentive and wick getting our order to us. Our coffee never dipped more that a quarter down before we got a refill. We had the trout, cinnamon roll(yes, it's covered in butter), and strawberry crepes. We had lots of leftovers but we were just stuffed!! This is a definite winner!!!

I stopped here on the way from Yosemite to LA. Both service and food were excellent. The interior is classic diner, and as a tourist from Europe I loved the authenticity of this place. Manager greeted regulars personally. Our sandwiches were excellent - like homemade. Definitely a place I will return to whenever I drive through Bakersfield.

This was my first time at this neat nostalgic gem. I was part of a large group eating breakfast. The wait staff did a great job taking care of us and getting our meals to us in a timely fashion. I ordered a fried egg on top of tortilla with hash browns. I think it came out really good. The eggs were cooked great and the hash browns were cooked to a wonderful crispiness on the outside and yet super tender on the inside. I will definitely be coming back, this was really good. I also should commend the staff even further. They did a really great job working together and making my group was taken care of. It's unusual to never have an empty coffee cup, but they pulled it off. I can't wait to go back and try their lunch specials..... On a side note, this place is packed with a lot of nostalgic items. One thing that really stood out to me was an old fire engine pedal car, I wish I had one as a kid, it looks really awesome.

Surprisingly excellent service here for a small restaurant. The food tastes home made and the best of all. Reasonably priced, not expensive at all. I always like to try each restaurants version of French toast. This restaurant's French toast is delicious comes with bacon and maple syrup. It was a really great experience, and I would recommend this place for breakfast.

I can only say one thing. GO TO THE 24TH STREET CAFE! Unfortunately I accidentally deleted the photos. But GO. I recommend the Fried Trout and Eggs. It is SOOOOO good. I am drooling just thinking about it. Try the cold Tri-Tip Sandwich. Great! Had to get the biscuits and gravy also.

Wife and I are huge Food Network watchers and Guy Fieri fans. I always plug in places I want to visit and 24th Street Cafe was one I had saved because I’m a big Chili Lover. Had the Texas Size with Onion, wife had the Pastrami Sandwich on Sour Dough with fries. Place has an zing feel to it, nostalgic decor with a super staff. Jacob was our server and had great suggestions for us but mine was set on Chili. Glad we were able to make the trip after seeing Triple D and the Chili made here. Food was fantastic, super clean place and easy to find.

To be honest, it's one of the Best restaurants in Bakersfield. The steak is pretty good, and the omelet was awesome. If you have any chance to visit Bakersfield, you should try it.

Brought my aunt and wife to breakfast here and had one of the most amazing breakfast experiences ever. We were very lucky to arrive when we did. We were seated quickly and well taken care of by Clarinda. She was courteous and quick, accommodating and helpful, friendly and professional. Food was abundant in portions and flavorful. This is my new Bakersfield breakfast spot. Don't get here too late or expect a wait.

Would drive down this street on a daily, decided to stop by and give it a try. The space is a bit small for a large group like mine. I highly recomend the pastramy sandwich and the thunderbird sandwich but a breakfast MUST is the cinnamon role with whipped butter its busy in the morning so if you dont want to wait go around 11ish... but def def will come back

What a great old school diner spot for breakfast. We were on our way up to Kern river for a two day rafting trip. We didn’t order anything special but it was really tasty. The biscuits and pancakes were really good. The service was friendly and prompt even though they were busy.

Feel: Marvelous brekky food in a traditional 50-60s diner style. Pro tip: If you go on a Sunday you will encounter the intense church masses but just say you're cool with bar seats and you'll sit in 10-15 mins even during peak breakfast hour. The food: classic but effective dishes from the best French dip you'll ever have to the homemade peanut butter made for you on the spot with their vintage machine. It's cool to see. The service: above average and solid kindness from servers. They are genuinely good people. Conclusion: go this Sunday or die in depression eating your cereal and grilled cheese at home.

I came here last Sunday and had some late breakfast with some of my friends from my Highschool days.. We knew if we met up anywhere it was gonna be here. I actually hadn't been back here since I moved out in the Roasedale area in 2005.. So I was happy to come back. I met my friends and we had a great time.. THANK YOU TO THE GUY WHO SEATED US ... GAVE US SOME FRIED OKRA since my buddy waited outside for our table for 10 minutes plus.. We all enjoyed what we ordered.. I had my favorite, Chicken fried Steak with hash browns & 2 over easy eggs. Cooked to perfection.. just like I remembered from decades past. I see now they have added a extra dinning area which was pretty cool. 4 buddies who graduated 30 years ago June 5, 1992 came together for a meal in the only place that made sense.. 24th street cafe.. All our food was excellent and just like I remembered from my childhood. It may take many more years before we all come together again in life... and if we do.. 24th street Cafe is our only meeting place for some great food and service. Friends in my life are very special and it was great to see you and share a meal here at this restaurant 😋... They staff were great and even let us visit eachother till they closed at 2:30 pm.. we were the last ones there.

We always love going here. Great food, service is attentive by all staff, not just your own server. Brunch all day, why not?! Sometimes a little wait time but that's so they don't overload the servers or kitchen so it's a better dining experience and worth the wait for the quality of it overall. Very friendly. Cute little spot, too. If you're living here or just passing through give it a try I'm sure you'll like it.

The food is really good. It has a diner style vibe which I really like. I've been here twice. This last time we got the French toast and the bacon, egg and cheese muffin sandwich. Customer service was really good here too.

Stopped here on the way to Disneyland and everything was so good we stopped by on the way home to try a few other things. The food and staff are beyond reproach. It will now be a destination for us.

I had the country fried steak with eggs and hash browns. It was decent. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is old school vibes, nice place to eat. The tables are really close to each other so it feels crowded.

Do not judge a book by it's cover!! Located in Bakersfield,CA this is a gem in the rough. We decided to try this Triple D recommendation after much debate. It is a small little diner that is nestled between some pretty big buildings. But the sign on the building will lead you to the diner. It's small. Quaint. Cozy. Not for anyone who is looking for ohh and ahhs of the atmosphere. Adorned with oars, diving flippers, and small scale canoe and antique fishing rods this place has an inviting aroma of breakfast and nostalgia immediately upon entering. There were 4 of us on this trip and we each decided to try something different from the massive menu laced with plenty of drooling choices from breakfast to lunch. I chose stuffed avocado with fresh crab and tomato salad, and my friends ordered homemade chorizo with potatoes, stuffed french toast with eggs, and lastly chili Verde. No pictures because before we knew it we were all driving into this fiercely delicious ensemble of plates. We all had a bite of each other's plate and we were all thoroughly satisfied with each plate. 2 of us ordered Mimosa (delivered with a glass of oj, a small bottle of champagne (can't remember the name) and a beautiful glass to mix to our hearts desire. Also had a cup of coffee that was delivered with your choice of creamer. And before we left we ordered a short stack each of pumpkin pancakes and blueberry pancakes. The only picture I took of this dining affair!! And they were delicious when I had them the next day reheated!! My friends and I split the pancakes so we each could enjoy them. This place has so much to offer and we didn't have the belly space or time to enjoy it all. But I'll definitely be back for more if I'm ever heading around the area again. Thank you for all the hard work and scrumptious food!!

Classic Americana food. We had chicken and waffles, because we could! They let our little doggie come in which was wonderful. Very family friendly, and an extensive menu. Parking can be tight. There is often to wait on the weekends. Weekday, no problem.

The location is on a one way road (24th). The parking lot has limited parking. It's a cafe not some extravagant location. The decor reminds you of diners in the past. The indoors has benches and a counter sitdown on the inside. They built a covered outside dining area which happens to be heated. The food was excellent as it always has everytime i've eaten here. The service is excellent and friendly.

First time here back in August, there was a little wait but it was worth it. Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious I would definitely go back again.. only downside was to find parking was horrible 😌

One of the best places in Bakersfield for brunch and breakfast. We usually go here on Sundays and it’s always busy and there is at least about 20 minutes of wait time. But the food is delicious and worth the wait, if you’re flexible and don’t wanna wait too long there’s always room at the counter which what we usually pick. The Cajun seafood is delicious, definitely recommend this place.

The steak & eggs are my favorite. The garlic butter that comes on the steak is amazing, I love the vibe of the café. Very old fashioned & the host Jacob is so sweet!

Passing through on the 99. 1st timer. PUMPKIN PANCAKES - a must! Has pecan butter on top. No syrup needed - delicious. My mom and I split them (2 big pancakes) and the mashed potato and eggs plate. Dad says the Chile verde omelette has a slight hint of spice to it. Not overwhelming but good (coming from my Mexican dad) - Amelia our waitress was great. She split up our plates for us, without asking. Love that. Hubby had a very fresh chicken fried steak. And the biscuits are light, airy, and crumbly and delicious with the gravy. Highly recommend to get a few different plates and share. Check out the specials. A definite must if you are trying to visit cafes that were on the show “Diners, drive-ins, and Dives” Come hungry.

The biscuits and gravy are so good here! We stopped by after looking at some images of the food online and we were not disappointed! The food was really yummy and the service was nice. The restaurant has an old-school style. Overall it was a great experience with yummy food.
