The room I was provided with was in poor conditions. Not only does the room seem to never be fixed, it was infested with roaches. The towels were stained and not properly cleaned. I asked to be switched to a room in better conditions and was given a room with an immense amount of roaches, more than the last room. It reeked of urine. I asked for one more room and it was in the same condition. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor will I stay at this hotel again. I was denied my money back. It is a joke to think the hotel deserves to keep the money.

This place is a dump and after pre paying online which also said incidentals $50, I went to check in and they are telling me it's $100 for incidentals, so I got a notification from my card company that they tried to take $50 two different times as well as $62.50, they ended up taking $62.60 and $50 when I called the front desk, I had to use my own phone because the room phone did not work, they told me incidentals where $50 and they said whenever you book a room online when you get to the motel it takes the room price as well as the incidental it's like I being charged twice even though it's still pending, it's not right to tie up someone money like that. This is a professional business, hardly. I do not recommend staying at this dump. The shower was disgusting don't even want to use it, think I may go to another motel it was so bad.

Run… just… run…. This place is dirty, roach infested, and run down. We already had a weird experience upon arriving when our first room, the door was open when we went to enter, and it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. They were kind enough to accommodate us and get us another room, that thankfully didn’t smell. Unfortunately cleanliness was an issue, as the carpet and the walls are all gross, the tub was stained, dirty and worn down, when we wiped everything down with alcohol to make sure it was sanitized, our towels were black with filth from the surfaces. We won’t be back, and would not recommend. The roaches that came running out all around the sink when the lights went out were the last straw for us. This place needs help.

This location needs to be deleted from the Wyndham group of offerings. A remodel effort is in progress, but the facility is one of La Quinta's older designs and short of a complete demolition and rebuild it may be beyond salvage. Our room had received "renovation" with new bed (very comfortable), credenza and TV but the bathroom was very tired. They put up new tile but left an old, cracked tub. The grout looked to have been done by a kindergartener who had been turned loose with a cake decorating set - wide globs of goop and silicone. Sink drained slow (systematic) of a monster wad of hair in the trap) and the AC panel showed "ERR" and would clear for 60 seconds before going back to a non-adjustable state. Fortunately the fan stayed running. Most troubling was the clerk at check in. She was just awful - no smile, no greeting, no small talk and just generally rude. The morning staff was friendly and warm - maybe night shift lady was just having, "... a bad day." however, in thin industry there is only one chance to make a good impression that reflects the facility to someone checking in and she failed. Will not stay here again - ever.

Hotel was nice looking. Pet friendly. Good breakfast. Not the best neighborhood. Took me 15 minutes to find the actual entrance. Rooms were clean but there were baby roaches.

Incredibly dirty, torn carpets, holes in the bedding, stained bathtub, stained lamp shades, I could go on but you get the idea. I would not stay here if it was free. This hotel room is in the worst condition of any hotel I have stayed in. I drove from Washington and needed to stop before my destination for rest. I think sleeping in my car would have been a better option.

My husband and I were very comfortable in our room. The service from the staff was exceptional. The front desk staff were helpful and went out of their way to see to it that we were happy. And the housekeeping staff responded very promptly with our needs, bringing extra towels, and they found an ice bucket for us!🙂 Our Continental Breakfast was fabulous! There were several breakfast selections to choose from. Kudos to La Quinta(on Riverside Drive) in Bakersfield, CA for making our stay in Bakersfield CA a pleasant experience!

The location and price is NOT worth it. You definitely get what you pay for here. Spent the night making sure no roaches crawled on my family. Place looks updated and decent but is not clean (pipes were loud and fridge didn’t work). Towels were dirty, shower was dirty, ROACHES EVERYWHERE. We skipped the continental breakfast offered. If there are roaches in the rooms you best believe they are around where they store food. Seriously just stay somewhere else. No apology, no discount, no refund of some sort offered. So many roaches.

We have stayed at La Quinta Inns many times before, and this one in Bakersfield is one of the worst. The front desk was efficient and friendly. However, the door to our room wouldn't open so we had to trek back to the lobby. The door knob remained difficult to open the whole time we were there. The room looked clean, but obviously a prior tenant had smoked cigarettes inside and housekeeping tried to mask it with a quadruple dose of cheap cleaning chemicals. The shower curtain had built in grommets that were meant to be used with another type of bar. Sigh. The shower mat had peeled loose. At least the sheets were white and apparently clean (i.e., no bed bugs or other critters). It's cheap and you get what you pay for. Hoping the bad smells cleared my sinuses. Breakfast was abominable. No coffee, no tea, just a bunch of homeless looking people making one waffle after another.

Cockroaches, cigarette stained bath tub, who knows what was on the floor ... and the icing on the cake was the construction workers who were renovating the hotel who worked well past 11pm. It was nice that the front desk watched their security cameras often and I overheard them reacting to someone roaming the halls lookong for open doors. It sucks that people roam the halls looking for open doors. This is a cheap hotel. You get what you pay for.

a friendly staff. sketchy neighborhood. the cleanliness of the room was alright, some stains here & there. the room had a moderate smell of cigarettes. there was no “do not disturb” sign in the room. weren’t able to adjust the volume on the tv due to hotel settings on tv. the latch to prevent the door from opening all the way was loose/broken. breakfast was a joke, little to no options. overall an okay stay for the price, wouldn’t go back.

This would have rated higher in the rooms! But there were roaches in there! They were walking all over the Coffee cups around the edges of the trash cans you know for Wyndham I was kind of disappointed but the service was excellent and it was a great location next to the freeway

My Wife kids and myself rented two rooms adjoining to one another to help sleep 6 of us. On our way back from Our Disney vacation after being stuck In traffic for 4hours and only traveling less then 70 miles. Kids were already tired and hungry so we stopped and were excited to get two rooms for $140 should have known because usually never rent rooms for anything under $120ish dollars. Was a terrible experience. Non carpeted one room had comforters the other didn’t. Wasn’t the cleanest as my kids came in from swimming and the floor turned to mud. After an hour or two I seen critters coming from under the air conditioner. Then they started to appear in the adjoining room too. We went asked for a refund since we only spent maybe two and half hour there. Was a terrible room, cheap and unkept. Walk ways were smelly. Elevator was creepy made some odd noises. Usually our stays with La Quinta are great but not at this one in south Bakersfield CA. I will not recommend this place unless it is your absolute last resort. This place should be condemned and swamped out of all creatures that are overwhelming this place. This is obviously not fully owned by LaQuinta Wyndham and is really in poor condition. Like said it is an absolute last resort. Sorry not sorry we don’t like sleeping with critters. On another note the Home2 is a great place better than the Cockroach Hotel.

Avoid at all cost! We spent one night at this location. The room was dirty, with sticky floors. The room was freezing cold, and when we increased the temperature the roaches started to come out from their hide. There were multiple roaches all over the room and the bathroom. When we notified the staff in the morning, we were told there was nothing they could do except apologize. We were not offered any compensation for this terrible experience. I recommend finding somewhere else to stay.

I honestly don't recommend this place to anybody, my grandma came to town for the night and we have been to stay here, thinking it would be a good place to stay. It is gated and it is a nice place and a good location. But there was bugs in the room like pincher bugs etc, By the dozen, the shower was filthy, the water doesn't get hot at all. And the roof is just disgusting, the beds are severely uncomfortable and i woke up the next day and was itchy and had red dots on my body like something was biting Me, and that only tells you. So i dont recommend it at all

I stayed here for one night this past weekend (7/29/23). Drove down from Fresno for an event happening that evening. I arrived a couple of hours before the check in time of 3 pm, to see if there were any rooms available at that time, was told no. The location is not the greatest. Walked over to the IHOP next door to get lunch (that is another story.....dirty floors with food all over the floor, tables that had not been cleaned off in quite awhile). Finished lunch at about 2 pm, and was still told a firm no to checking in a little early. Finally was told rooms were available at 2:30 and was given a room on the first floor. The room had a bed, no chairs except for 2 table chairs but no table. The TV had limited channels. The lighting at the bathroom sink is horrible. The saving grace is that the bed was very comfortable. But my socks were dirty after walking on the floor! The next morning, I only had one regular and one decaf coffee selection. You could at least give two of each. I got the hell out of there at 6 am, and drove home to Fresno. The breakfast in the lobby didn't start until 7 am on Saturdays and Sundays. I'll never stay here again.....horrible location!

The hotel is old, but my room was clean and comfortable. It's not in the greatest area. There were a lot of people walking around the neighborhood and around the hotel throughout the night. I got in late, around 2AM, and was surprised by the amount of folks hanging out in the parking lot. The front desk staff was nice, parking was a bit limited due to a big rig in the lot, but overall my stay was ok.

Eventually, I started taking coup on my enemy, the roach! My morning routine would consist of smacking them all over the room with my Crocs for sport! One star is too many for this place. They obviously don't understand that I booked on a week rate as the third day they shut off my room key and even told me they started charging my day by day... I read another review (after I booked 😳) about a tub having burn marks and stains all over it. I must have gotten that room as the tub was all burn marked up and cigarette stain looking. It's room 214. Ridiculous. Seems the room was renovated at some point so my mattress looked brand new. That's cool. Unfortunately this place would only benefit from being burnt down and the land just turning into the IHOP parking lot. I will never stay here again.

Do not stay here! It is filthy: the sheets are stained with maybe grease and most definitely blood, there is hair and a dead bug on the sink, flies circling the room, and some live bug making a home on the ceiling; there are cigarette burns on the bath tub and it is stained. All the gates are locked and I am sure for good reason if you see the crack house, I mean “motel”, next door. The phone did not work and so we had to use the cell phone to call the front desk since the remote to the T.V. did not work as well. The customer service was terrible. Let’s just say we did not stay the night so I could not tell you what other creatures come out in the dark. We decided to make the three hour drive home at midnight then stay here.

I understand that the Inn is under construction because they are upgrading. However, the inside of my room had white dust on everything. They put a bunch of teenage kids in the room adjoining mine and after listening to them yell, scream, and bounce off walls (literally) for hours, I finally called the front desk and asked that something be done. The office personnel asked what I expected them to do?! I told them to at least ask the kids to nit be so noisy......the noise went on until about midnight 🙄.

Got the keys to the room, room numbers so confusing, you can see several people walking all over the place as the numbers are not organized(hard to explain). Found the room and a young lady with no uniform was cleaning the room and it was passed 4 p.m. when me and my daughter approached the open door to ask how long, a disgusting odor came from inside the room, strong odor, hard to describe but it made our stomachs churn. The corners where stairs are, smelled like people had been peeing there often. A lot of activity, a bus pulled with a bunch of guys, seemed they were coming from work or something and that's where they were going to stay. Went to the front desk to get a refund as I was not going to sleep in that room or hotel at all. Two other families were there for the same reason. One lady approached me and asked what was wrong with my room, I told her and she shared the same experience with the odor, and her room had been cleaned. She said her stomach turned and felt sick with the smell. It was a hassle to cancel as I had made the reservation at hotels. com, finally I was refunded. Went to a different and better hotel.

I have been at others Quinta hotels , this one not so good, the sink in bathroom was dirty the water flow so slow. Toilet needs to be replace ,there was a water leak by the toilet. The tiles growts in shower not clean enough. For the price , I guess this is what you get. I took some pictures of what I saw , but I chose not to show them. Would I stay there again? Maybe , I would give this hotel another chance. I must say that not everything was bad, I really enjoyed the continental breakfast, it was well organized and clean. I had everything I needed. Most of the staff was very polite.

Booked a 13 night stay. The room I was given had no fridge or microwave was small outdated in need of repairs. The bed was hard and uncomfortable at best.Pillows flat bed covers generic. Bathrooms are tiny. Neighbors were loud could hear them through the walls. However staff are super nice and location is nice walking distance to food gas station coffee etc. They did upgrade my room to a deluxe for no extra charge. Has a microwave and fridge but still same as above just a little better. ID think I would book here again.

Do not spend your money here! Terrible hotel! And the staff not great! Had to switch rooms because BOTH of the locks were broke on the door and they still tried to convince me to stay in the room! Was switched to another room that was supposed to have fridge and microwave, there was as neither! But the final straw was the bathroom sink, tub and toilet being full of roaches! I left immediately not staying longer than 30 min. The hotel refused to give me a full refund! Was trying to save money, NEVER AGAIN!!! disgusting

**Please keep going to a better place if you can. If you need to stop now, it will do for a rest but for the price ($75+) you can probably do better!** My husband stayed at this hotel last night and reported the following to me today: The parking lot was very confusing - chains across some entrances and hard to navigate, especially in the dark. The place had an overall feel of "rundown". The comforters looked soiled. The door latch was broken and he saw a dead bug in the bathroom and a live bug in the main area of the room. He said neither looked like a cockroach but he couldn't figure out what they were. He wasn't able to get a decent night's sleep due to the overall uncomfortable feel of the room. They do offer a continental breakfast but he chose to pass on it based on his overall impression of the place. **Please keep going to a better place if you can. If you need to stop now, it will do for a rest but for the price ($75+) you can probably do better!**

Staff were lovely, room is clean and comfortable. We stayed there for the CHRR at Framoso Raceway. Well located for the track. Breakfast is basic but everything is tasty. Coffee is good but I would recommend they get an extra coffee machine to service demand. My only problem with it from an eco point of view was the huge use of single use plastic in the room and at breakfast. That was horrendous how much plastic waste was created. Get some wooden disposable cutlery!

It's overpriced, and I payed $76. Definitely take a shower with bleach once you leave. Room was dirty and cold. Smelt like they dumped cheap cologne and called it good. Homeless around and just all around bad!

This place is very awesome. With the exception of a couple employees, the staff is rude and less than good. Which is bad, they are mostly bad at customer care or whatever. The rooms are pretty clean but infested with water bugs. More commonly known everywhere else as cockroaches. Kinda gross. So stay if ya want to.

Clean. Kind. Quick. Pool. Breakfast. = Great Customer Service, ALL around. My first night: Our rooms television wasn't working. When I called downstairs, He immediately offered to switch our rooms. Very polite. Even more so, I forgot our toothbrush kits and they were able to provide both at no charge. Will return.

Keep the BUGS out of the room! It is so distressing to have multiple bugs running around the bathroom, all over the toilet and bathtub, and even on the carpet. Nothing worse than sitting on the toilet and wondering if a bug will crawl onto your body. The photo is just a few of the bugs that were on or in the toilet in the middle of the night. Desk staff was unsympathetic, and only said "we'll let Maintenance know". Also, the neighborhood does not have a "safe" feel to it at all. Businesses with bars on the doors and windows, and homeless people hanging out nearby, causes anxiety. I don't wish that upon anybody who is travelling.

Bed was extremely itchy. Entire room smelled like sewage and had a strong stench. Privacy curtain wouldn't go down. Place is out dated. Staff could be more professional

Would give zero star if given the option. Room was heavily infested with roaches. Although I saw few roaches crawling on floor, because I checked in late, I didn’t want to bother the front desk. Woke up at night to use the restroom, and found more than twenty roaches near the restroom area. In addition, one roach fell on my head on bed before I turned off the light. Around 2AM, I was woken by people doing drugs, talking and banging door. Worst hotel stay in my life!!! Had I known this would happened, I would have switched hotel. Front desk pretended not hearing me when I mentioned this the next morning. Avoid this place at all cost!!!

Beds are always super comfortable. The only downside is that we, my mom and I, only had one towel in the room for both. We called the desk, and they sent some up, so no big. No fridge, no ice bucket. For some that's a deal breaker, for me not a big deal. There is an IHOP in the same parking lot. That was convenient. Overall it was a good stay.

As of 12/3 2 days later I have yet to speak to anyone regarding the issue. I booked this room and made it to the site about 7p, the arrival and check in was nice. Upon entering the room all looked well including renovations, however hours later upon headed to bed I noticed a huge dot on a pillow and YES, it was a bed bug. I immediately gathered my things and and went to check out how freaking gross. Check out was easy yet no sign of any concern or resolution. Speaking to the staff at the tike they did say that pest control would come out and that would determine what happens with me. Not good enough!! I will continue trying for a resolution OR I'll gladly let the news station know that they have bed bugs crawling throughout the handicapped rooms with no concern of resolving the problem. P.s. yes I have videos and photos of those things sitting and crawling over the pillow and bed.

This place was great for my boyfriend , grandmother and I. We got two rooms which both were clean. My grandmother noticed that her bed was not fully made , making it look like someone had been in their prior to her , and then someone trying to get in the room shortly after she got in saying that he had also received this room. This could be summed up to a simple mistake though so we didn’t think about it too much. The location was good located close to main freeways. This place also had great breakfast in the morning .

Website had $25 pet fee. They tried to make me pay $50 for one night. Reserved king room with microwave and refrigerator. The room did not have either. So they moved me into a ratty old room that wasn't updated. It smelled, sink drained slowly, toilet barely got paper flushed, hole in the carpet and closest elevator wasn't working. Then 3 buses pulled in at 6:45am and loaded noisy farm workers. I did get them to honor the webite's $25 pet fee. But I had to prove it was on the Wyndham site. Make sure you get an updated room and ask if the buses will be stopping in the parking lot if you want to sleep a bit longer.

So dissatisfied and disappointed. If I could rate this place a zero I would. When booking online it says there is a fridge and microwave. There was not a fridge or microwave, there were cockroaches and stained up mattresses and bedding. It was disgusting and dirty. I did stay the 2 nights I booked because there were no open availability at any other rooms close by and after driving three hours to get there we were tired and needed to get rest. The staff was courteous but that doesn’t excuse the filth and the missing fridge and microwave. I will be calling corporate to complain Monday.

I hadn’t checked into my room and a random stranger approached me and started selling me drugs. I resisted and somehow got into my room but that guy was still out there. I tried calling the front desk but no answers. Don’t wanna involve cops as I was super tired driving 5 hours and had no strength. Checkout straight in 10 minutes and booked a nice room in Marriott. I give this place a 1 1/2 star only because Jordan from the front desk tried her best to accommodate us. Unfortunately this place is super out dated, roaches in 3 of the hotel rooms we checked out. The outside doors have a sign that says locked 24 hrs unless you use your key card but the doors are unlocked 24/7 and there was homeless man on the 2nd floor just hanging out on the stairway! Every day we needed to go to the front desk to reset our room card because our card stops working, the lobby is very warm instead of refreshing especially in this triple digit heat, their tv channels are so basic which there’s nothing to watch and we can’t lower the volume in the bedroom. Their breakfast makes me sad because they only served a plain cereal, machine waffles and boiled eggs. Also to get the luggage cart we needed to check in our ID on the last day. At most a 1 1/2 star hotel.

I do not like to write negative reviews but I would like to warn others. I mistakenly did not check reviews until the morning of my arrival day. I saw the reviews about the cockroaches and lack of cleanliness but didn’t want to believe it. When we arrived and I mentioned the reviews to the gal at the front desk, she said it wasn’t true and she would not work there if it was. Well unfortunately there were cockroaches all over the bathroom at night. It was beyond disgusting and it was also very noisy. They only give you one sort of larger towel and when I asked for more, they never came in the 2 hours before we had to leave for the night. The shower wouldn’t get warm. The area and room also felt very sketchy and unsafe. The only positive is the room had a mini refrigerator and microwave. They offered a small discount in apology and that’s it. I will never stay there again. Extremely disappointing and gross. I hope the corporate office reads these and does something positive about it.

I always like staying at any La Quinta hotels. But not this time. The front desk clerk was very nice and allow me to check in 30 min early because I was tired from driving but went I went to my room it was not cleaned so I went back down to the front desk and told lady she sent some one to verify that the room was actually not cleaned because it was marked as clean, the person who went to check the room actually confirmed that the room was not cleaned she told me that she will sent some one right away to cleaned for me. I went back to the room and sat on the chair and waited but no one showed up to clean so around 3 pm a called the front desk and this time I had to explain all over agin to the new front desk clerk and she said she will have some body over but I need it to leave the room for them to clean it. I said no problem I will go and get some food and will be back. I came back around 4.50 pm and the rooms was not cleaned I went to the front desk and explain to the girl again my situation and she told me it was to late the room service person was gone for the day she just give me some sheets and pillow cases no towels or toilet paper I was very much disappointed about the way I was been treated by them. But I was tired I just wanted to go to bed so a Meade my own bead and went to sleep. The next day in the morning I went to check out and the same girl that check me in was working so I told her what happened and she just ignored me and that a manager will call me later. But she never asked me for my telephone number. I was very unhappy with La Quinta.

It’s not awful, you get what you pay for obviously. Breakfast was awful but we weren’t there for that. Bed was comfy and no concerns within the room. I felt safe, it’s in a decent location.
