This place is disgusting. Don’t let the Marriott brand fool you, this place is terrible. Upon arrival we noticed the carpets in the hallways and the rooms were stained. Unfortunately, this was the least of our concerns. In getting to our room. There was wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom, and the towel rock was coming out of the wall. About 45 minutes after arrival, a COCKROACH appeared and continue to run around the room until my husband killed it. We would’ve called the front desk at this point except the phone give us a busy signal when trying to call any of the options. They gave us a new room on the second floor and a voucher for breakfast the next morning, however, after seeing more cockroaches in our walk back to the room, we unsurprisingly did not eat there. The new room was better, but still had stains on the carpet and the cover for the sink drain was not attached. This hotel is not suitable for guests. Even after they finish the renovation, I think Marriott should reconsider their partnership, this property is way below what I have experienced as for standards of the brand.

The worst and dirtiest Marriott property I have ever attempted to stay at. I stay over 50 nights a year with Marriott and never have I seen quality this low. The first room I had, had some brown smear on the wall the curtains had holes all over them the Tv had a whole line down it that wasn’t working and dead bugs on the floor by the chair that didn’t look recent. The more I looked the more dirt and stains I saw. They moved me to the second room and while not as bad still very dirty with stains on the bed and more holes in the curtains floor ripped out through out the hotel. Everything was old and worn out. On top of all that the internet wouldn’t work so I couldn’t work. I ended up checking out same day very disappointed in the quality not at all what I expected from a Marriott branded hotel.

I really like this place and have stayed here a lot. But this latest stay, we noticed the sprinkler system, & well we have had a bad drought, & I know you care for your grounds, & your patrons, that the coverage could be native plants or plants that are not so water hungry & still look good. It just is poor use of a precious commodity especially during fire season. This is a previous review I didn't want to remove. I had a wonderful stay! The staff were courteous & quick to help. The rooms were clean & arranged nicely. I found a toy behind the microwave while I was looking for a possible outlet attached for the coffee maker, made me wonder how well they clean the counter tops, & since there was only the one wall outlet in the space, the option was microwave or hot water because the fridge occupied the 2nd. The hot tub water smelled funny but not enough to not get in, & it felt wonderful; all the bubbles were from low jets so I had to do some maneuvering to get to my shoulders, but I still managed. The terrace levels had outdoor patios with chairs & a table, we had a great time sitting out there admiring the landscaping, the stars, & companions. I look forward to another stay. I'll add photos next time

I’d like to start this review by saying I travel for work twice a month every month.. so I have seen hotels across the country. I exclusively stay with Marriott brand hotels. This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The carpets are disgusting. The shower was disgusting and did not work. I had to shower at the gym. The lights in the bathroom did not work. There are bugs. I am absolutely horrified. I booked this hotel last minute and didn’t check reviews because Four Points are usually decent. But this hotel looks like a homeless shelter. An outdated one at that. It is completely abhorrent that you people allow this place to remain open. You don’t deserve a cent from any single human to stay in these rooms. It is inhabitable for people at this point and needs to be shut down for renovation. The only good thing about it was the friendly front desk people.

Room smelled a little off, but was otherwise clean. Bathroom door did not shut and lock correctly. You can tell the establishment is older and in need of some renovations, but the basic amenities are there. Service was great and friendly. Breakfast at El Bistro next door provided for being Marriott Platinum.

This hotel is a diamond in the rough! The rooms are a bit dated, and the buildings a bit tired, but if you can look past these trivialities, you will find a handsome property with quaint rooms. The landscaping is beautiful, the whole property feels like a garden, the hot tub and pool are clean and inviting, and the restaurant next door is a fair choice for breakfast, dinner, or drinks. Finally, the hotel is near the business district of Bakersfield. The neighborhood is safe, clean, and incredibly peaceful at night. Don't be detracted by the naysayers. I am sorry the Four Points in Bakersfield, CA is not up to the same standards as the Sheraton Grand in Los Angeles. When it comes to quality, value, and experience, you can't beat Four Points Bakersfield!

Stayed here with my mother and brother for 1 night. This hotel served us as a 1 night stop during our roadtrip. Horrible smell in the room and almost everything had stains on it (bed, ceilings, carpet, windows and so on). We don't ask alot, but it HAS to be clean. This hotel was absolutely not!

It is a charming vintage hotel, with a large pool and tropical garden. Rooms are very, very spacious, and if you stay on a first floor some rooms have patios.

I used to stay at the hotel a lot because you can book with Marriott points which only cost less than the half of cash price, even with that incentive, I won't stay there anymore. I got bit all over by bed bugs, I have seen cockroaches multiple times. The manager ignored your complaint, never got back to you regarding bug bites. If you don't care to be the victim of bed bugs in order to save money, please go ahead and stay there.

This hotel has seen many years since the photos when booking which is all fine but notable. No nice blue pool lounge chairs, crummy strap ones that are grungy and broken. The hot tub was not in service indicated by caution tape which was not conveyed at booking, online, nor at check-in. The rooms are large with a mini fridge and coffee maker.

This hotel told me I was not allowed to stay there and didn't know why. I have stayed here at least 15x prior. So I had to find a different hotel at 10pm. I ended up stay at residence inn by Marriott down the street and I was very happy I did. Much better rooms and great breakfast and friendly staff. I will be letting everyone know about my bad experience with sherton. Last time I remember staff was rude.

Fine for the price if you’re passing through. The handle on the front door is falling off. Old rooms. Tired property. But the room was clean and the beds were comfy. Parking lot was a little sketchy but nothing bad happened! Costco nearby and lots of restaurants since it’s in a good location.

What a run down place. I should have read other reviews. The staff was friendly, they get the star. c'mon Marriott fix it up or bulldoze it. I'm an Elite member and this might be the worst Marriott I've been to. A one day only place, if you're down to last choice.

Lets just say that every negative review about this hotel is entirely correct. This place is a disgusting excuse of a Marriott hotel. While generally you can understand that you get what you pay for with cheaper rates, I don't think this location is worth a penny above $20 a night. And while even with a subpar facility, customer service can make up for the disappointment, here they compound it. Its rare to find hotel workers with such bitterness and distain for their job. The Check-in agents and manager in particular seemed to make it their mission to start everyone's stay off on the wrong foot. I dont think a single person in that check-in line walked away satisfied. If your option is between this place or a park bench....stick with the park bench.

I rarely have issues with Marriott properties, as I stay there a lot (50+ nights already this year) and have achieved the "titanium" status. I was disappointed with the breakfast. I should have been told that various items were not included in my free breakast coupon. I suppose its trivial, but it cost me about 30 dollars more than I would have spent if I had have known. In any case, I still left the 20% gratuity. I think Marriott should work on that a bit. The rooms were nice enough. The fitness center was good. The parking was ample. Its just that one thing didn't sit right with me.

Here on work trip... pictures on website are very misleading. Room had lots of dead bugs and although the bed was clean, which I greatly appreciate, the room itself was not acceptable. The staff were all kind and helpful where they could be.

Having a great experience here today. I was greeting with warm smiles and a charming dedicated personality from Diva. Great service! Excellent employee, give her a raise.

False advertising….every time I pull up Four Points Bakersfield this lovely clean blue pool is yelling at me. The place looks like a pool with rooms around it and a great place to relax after a work day in Bakersfield. So being a Platinum Bonvoy member I called in advance to reserve a ground level room facing out to pool. The receptionist made it sound like it was an impossible request and she would “see what she could do”. I show up and the place looks empty, the pool is old and patio furniture is cheap metal rusting in the sun. If anything…couldnt they have granted the one customer who may use the pool a request to be near the pool?! The TV reception is spotty, the bathroom fixtures are tiny and don’t look commercial grade and my toilet paper holder was hanging off the wall. Oh yea…I pick up the room phone to call about my internet and the cable falls out of the back of it. Mr Manager…you made me write this review by lack of attention to your property and false advertising

This was by far the filthiest rooms we’ve ever stayed in. Would love to show pictures. Thick mold in shower grout. Tile around bathroom floor wall coming off with something moldy sticking out. Carpet so dirty you could not go without shoes. Upholstered chair so dirty you would never sit on. Asked if shower could be cleaned. It was wiped down. Mold still there. Realize they are remodeling but completely disgusting to have these rooms checked out to people. Will never go back. Find another motel. Believe all the bad reviews they are spot on.

This place is literally like my second home. The staff takes care of us. It's walking distance to so many restaurants as well as a Vons Grocery store and a CVS Pharmacy. There's a HUGE swimming pool as well as an area to grill if you want to. The fountains are nice to go walk around or just sit and hang out at.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, quiet atmosphere and Tammy ( Laundry staff member) made us feel right at home when we asked for additional towels. She was on her way to break but she made a point to help us.

It was ok. The wifi didn't work for half our stay which was frustrating to try and get work done in the room The included breakfast was not good, and the service with it was poor. A simple buffet would of been better food, easier and quicker

Hotel was decent; fit our needs for our trip. We travel with a toddler so sometimes we do need extra towels and toiletries for our room. What stood out during our trip was our experience with service. I believe her name was Tammy, she came right away with everything that we needed like extra towels and shampoo. She was super sweet and friendly. We had a rough night and didn’t sleep well so she even brought us extra coffee in the morning which seems like a small thing, but was really a huge thing for us.

Friendly/helpful staff, very big rooms which are clean. Staff accommodated a 3 pm late check out so I could do my work meetings online, the free wifi worked well enough to do all my work online, and the area has plenty of places to eat, get gas, and shop.

Medical professional traveling with college students. My room temperature was stuck at 60 degrees and one of my students rooms didn't have hot water in the shower. All other rooms were booked out.

An unfortunate reservation - I did not know they (with 3 floors) do not have an elevator! With bad knees and a heavy suitcase, I had to rescind my reservation, esp after I saw my room on the second floor - dark, musty smelling, extremely dated, no skirt on the box springs (tags hanging out, ugh), big stains on carpet and fabric covered chair. It was nightmarish for anyone who is picky about cleanliness. The ladies at the desk were amicable and understanding, however. This property does not meet normal Marriott expectations

The location was great for my business trip. The furniture was a little dated, but facilities were overall clean. Customer service was acceptable, but staff member Tammy was extremely friendly and helpful when bringing more blankets. I would stay here again.

As a Titanium member, the hotel put me in the 400 building. Plenty of room and everything you need. The entire facility is laid out well but could use a refresh, in my opinion. Enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was good as well as the wedge salad, potlickers, and Long Island tea I got the night before. Will stay again to alternate between this and Courtyard.

This Marriott is specifically an older style hotel was a great deal of charm. It doesn't lack any of the basics to make it a comfortable stay although it is not up to 2023 aesthetic design standards. The rooms are good sized and clean the beds were slightly overly soft. It is definitely a safe and comfortable place to stay. It is also one of the least expensive Marriott hotels in the Bakersfield area. It would be easy to spend a $100 more per night for a fancier hotel.
