First time eating here. The people there were so nice. Food is just over the top excellent. I got the pulled pork sandwich and the brisket sandwich. So excellent. Both sandwiches were so delicious and the meat is melt in your mouth so perfect and well cooked. I got the garlic tots and garlic fries as sides because I love garlic and they were excellent as well. Definitely will be going back!!! Highly recommended.

First-rate BBQ joint, with meats by the pound as well as sandwiches and platters. I had the pulled pork, which was tender and flavorful and juicy. The meat stood on its own, but 4 different sauces -- including a mustard sauce and a unique raspberry chipotle -- complimented the flavor nicely without overwhelming the meat. Cole slaw was mayonnaise based, but also had a sweet tang to it. Baked beans were a good side and went well work the spicy BBQ sauce. Highly recommended. 2 thumbs 👍

Stopped here when we were just passing through town and wanted BBQ. Good food. The ribs and brisket were tasty, along with the fried okra. Very friendly and great service.

If you are in the general vicinity of Bakersfield Porkchop and Bubba's BBQ is a must visit! I've visited a lot of BBQ eateries across the US from the Carolinas and Georgia to Tennessee, Mississippi and Texas. With the exception of Tri-Tip BBQ in the west is rarely able to replicate the taste found in the eastern and southern states. I now have to make an exception. Porkchop and Bubba's BBQ is on par with some of the best BBQ found in the east and south and the best I've tasted in California. When visiting we had the pulled pork sandwich with the sweet potato fries and regular BBQ sauce. The pork had a wonderful smoked flavor and was very juicy. The coleslaw was the perfect match for the pulled pork - not sweet and overpowering as it can sometimes be and not so wet that it makes the buns of the sandwich soggy. The sweet potato crosscut fries with a honey / cinnamon dipping sauce is the best I've ever had - just the right mix of salty and sweet.

Delicious food and a great atmosphere. This was my first time here and I will definitely be returning when I'm in the area again. I got the brisket sammich and it tasted fantastic!

This is my go to BBQ place in Bakersfield. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The new location is amazing and I love the rustic western style. Now to the food . The half chicken is my favorite. I don’t know how they do it but the breast is so tender and juicy never a dry piece. The mac n cheese is creamy salty and sweet all around. The bbq beans are sweet with lots of spices and loads of meat. The brisket is so so soft like butter just the way I remember Texas BBQ. I love this place and recommend it to everyone!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Small place, great BBQ! 1st time here great smoke ring on the brisket, pulled pork was juicey and the ribs were fall of the bone. 4 sauces to use so you can find the one for you. Got fried okra as a side and a very garlicky sauce which was good to. Can't wait to visit again and try more off their menu 😋

Not my first trip to Porkchop and Bubba's BBQ. This trip I was with my wife. We had the Pit Beef, Brisket, and Pork Ribs. Mind you everything was naked so you could sauce it yourself...and this is one area that makes this place great; flavorful food BEFORE you sauce it! My wife had a knife with her ribs and I didn't, even though I had slices of brisket. Before I embarrassed myself and asked for one I tried the brisket...it was fork tender and pulled apart as if it was melting. The flavor was beefy with a kiss of smoke...delicious. the deep pit (pit beef) was AMAZING! I am going to try it in a sandwich next time. The pork ribs were tender but had a nice pop as you bit into them. The fried okra was some of the best in town...who needs sauce???!!! My son enjoyed a hot link sandwich loving the caramelized veggies and the pop of the link...it was a spicy and tasty bite. If you love BBQ you need to try this BBQ!

I’d like to say first and foremost the hospitality was amazing. The food was delicious. The ribs were my favorite, they fell right off the bone. The Tri-Tip was delicious as well. I got chili cheese fries and they were very flavorful. The Mac and cheese was okay, they had potential to be great. I think if they would have added cheeses on top and maybe some bacon then put them in the oven maybe even paprika.. anyways overall I loved my entire lunch.

Super tasty pork ribs. On Fridays they have a special burger which changes every Friday. The picture I posted is one of those Friday special, this burger has Brie, bacon & Vidalia onion jam, and roasted whole garlic. It was damn delicious.

Amazing place for BBQ. The brisket bacon burger was a great size, pink and juicy in the middle with nice flavor. Thick smokey bacon. Served with waffle sweet potato fries with THE BEST sweet dipping sauce I've ever had. Staff was attentive and friendly. Restaurant is clean and spacious but limited seating. There's also outside tables. There are different specials to try like the Mac and cheese brisket burger. Can also get BBQ by the pound.

All I can say is, dont buy into the hype. Went and paid over 40 bucks for a kids meal, Mac n cheese and garlic tots. Kids meal - grilled cheese was below average, ranch was packed with grilled cheese and was curdled and HOT by the time I got home. Garlic tots were okay, Garlic makes everything good right? The value wasn't there. Mac n cheese had copious amounts of pepper. All in all 3/10. Maybe stick to BBQing because you guys are evidently good at that based upon all the trophies and plaques on the wall, however the restaurant game is pretty pathetic. They lack basic knowledge. Cashier drinks beer at work. Edit: didn't get to try BBQ sauce because they forgot it after I paid for it.

I'm only upset I cannot give this place 10 stars.. The service was amazing, very reasonable prices, and the food was absolutely incredible! Everything was homemade and you could taste that! Brisket fell apart because it was smoked for so long! It was juicy, flavorful! Just absolutely incredible! Sweet tea was FRESH! Everything was amazing! Wow!

O M G! O M G! Do I have to add anything else? This place is an hidden gem! If you are close go there! You must! The meat was extremely delicious and so cooked to perfection that it melts in your mouth. It's not a figured speech. It's the way it is. The restaurant is really well designed inside, something special. Not too many seats, but just enough not to wait too long. You wanna surprise someone? This is the place you wanna go! Highly recommended.

I am a healthy eater … well most of the time. Tonight all bets were off. I tried the Mac and cheese wow!! The totchos… yum! I had some “crack” : tots with Mac and cheese mixed with hot link chopped up which was off the secret menu. My favorite food is salad so I got the mixed green that was full off fresh apples, chopped candied nuts, feta cheese and a delicious Italian dressing. I choose to go meatless UNTIL I tried the chopped brisket … it is so delicious that I ordered a side to add to my salad. So there are choices for healthier eaters and eaters.

Very delicious BBQ! Service is excellent by the young ladies and food is prepared quick but delicious! I'm from Los Angeles and we stop there often when we travel to Bakersfield. Highly recommend 👌!

I got the pulled pork sandwich which was really good, just a tad dry. It came on a brioche bun which is delicious and toasted to perfection! The kind woman who took my order recommended the "Crack" which is tater tots stacked with Mac & cheese and spicy sausage to top it off! Very good, not too spicy and the tots are salted so well. I recommend to anyone who loves BBQ and is willing to try new local restaurants! 😋

Friendly staff. Downhome atmosphere. Great food. Try the "secret menu" Crack. Tater tots, with Mac and Cheese and hot links! You will be forever grateful to me!😄😄

First time here but definitely not my last! Everything was amazing!! Couldn't have asked for a better place to sit down, enjoy some delicious food and receive great hospitality 🙌🏼 place was also nicely decorated! Even the branded drinks tasted better here for some reason 🤣 Consider me a fan of this place

Got the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. Food was phenomenal - tender and plentiful. Beans had a great pepper-forward flavor and the mac and cheese was velvety and a nice complement to the pork. All sauces were exceptional - we dug into the Mustard based and spicy BBQ. Glad we stopped in for lunch, we’ll be back.

This is a hot local spot with many tasty signature dishes. The problem is, if you don't get there early, most of the good stuff is sold out... smoked chicken and turkey wings, pit beef, tri-tip, ribs, they go fast... three out of the four times i go, there's only chicken left... the ribs are indeed fall-off-the-bone and served plain with homemade sauces including a traditional BBQ, a raspberry BBQ sauce, spicy, and mustard... Sides include, but not limited to, mac and cheese, homemade potato chips (excellent), onion rings, cole slaw, chili beans, green beans, and my favorite (pictured below) their potato salad... The owner hustles and will upsell you so be ready... they also charge a California "extra food charge" percentage fee, around 10 or 15%... its automatic and will be added to your total... my $24.38 bill wound up being $29 and change...
