My first time eating here and let me tell you the food is AMAZING!! My favorite is the butter chicken but everything tastes so good. Just the right amount of spice and flavors! I recommend coming for the lunch buffet, you can choose a little of everything and find what you love most! New life long customer here!! Thank you

First time trying indian food and it was amazing!! Went in for a school project with a group of friends and the costumer service was great they were more then willing to help us and explain what the plates consisted of. Overall great experience and would recommend to anyone looking to try indian cuisine . :)

I work all over California, especially the Central Valley. I always look for Indian restaurants wherever I am, as it’s not the worst health wise, and also just tastes great. I was in Bakersfield for work, and we saw this heart of India while looking for some lunch . I got the chicken tikka masala. And the garlic naan. It was as easily the best tikka masala I’ve ever had. Spiced very well, where other places have over spiced pretty easily. And the garlic naan has a great crisp without it being too light or greasy. Definitely recommend!

This was Excellent! Giving 5 stars for price point, excellent food, atmosphere for price and great customer service. Come ready to try a few new things on the menu as well as classics like butter chicken , paneer , chana masala, tandoori and more. It’s north style Indian food which is pretty common for the us. Go ahead and try all the sauces, order 3 types of naan that’s included in buffet and enjoy yourself! 😎🥹 (garlic, butter, chili- garlic or just plain if you’d like) Our waiter was Vishal and he was great he will take care of you! Only thing they didn’t have was chicken tikka Marsala but everything they had was quality!!

This place was amazing! My husband & I tried almost every dish from the buffet & everything was delicious! We highly recommend coming here 👏🏼 KULDEEP was the sweetest & most friendly/helpful employee! Their buffet spread was good. We were vegetarian so would have preferred more vegetables but otherwise classic Punjabi food with delicious Keer and gulab jamun. The garlic naan was good too .will definitely come again.

I would love to say, this is the only place were i found original indian food taste, i liked their new recipes of ACHARI GOAT, I tried extra spicy 🌶️ one, it was bomb. Rogan josh goat, tandoori fish, garlic naan, mango lassi i tried many things. It’s been couple days, when i been there and I forgot to give a review. And today I got reminded about it because I’m going there again because of their food taste. All staff was good specially the manager LUCKY, who suggested me new dish ACHARI GOAT, PAYAL and PAWAN food server. Thanks all for making food with love and serve with love. We love India Indian food, but most places make the food so spicy it’s unbearable! While visiting Bakersfield, as we do yearly, we found this restaurant that prepares the food with a mild spice, and it was delicious! We ordered buffet style and there were many choices of meat, and fish, vegetables, rice,naan, we chose the garlic naan, salad, chutney, and India style pickle, they also have a lovely dessert of Carrot Halwa, shredded carrots with golden raisins, cardamom and slivered almonds, delicious, and Gulab Jamun, a deep fried cheese ball in sugar syrup! everything was fresh and tasty! And to make it better, they have high ratings! We will visit this restaurant again!

This was our first time visiting the heart of India & the experience was great. The food was delicious, super reasonably priced & great friendly service. I have celiac disease (severe gluten allergy) and they were able to confirm foods were gluten free; I had the butter chicken with rice and they all provided papadum (with 4 sauces) free of charge, as well as a soda. All of it was extremely flavourful. My partner had the chicken korma with rice and garlic naan & mango lassi and described it as being high quality and tasting authentic. The portions were large (particularly from a Canadian stand point), with each serving of rice and curry providing us each a second leftover meal. For so much food, it was super reasonably priced at only $50, great value! We dined in at the restaurants and the service was quick and friendly, and a very pleasant environment. If we visit this city again, we will definitely be returning!

One of my top ten indian cuisine restaurants. They provide exceptional service, fantastic food and have a very polite staff. I love the ambiance this restaurant has, a great place for a date. I usually go for the buffet, chai tea and mango lassi. The buffet changes every day from my understanding, but if you would like to order take out they also provide that service as well. I will provide pictures of the food available the day I had the pleasure of dining in and their menu. I crossed out the prices in black because I was informed that their prices had changed recently. So for more information on menu prices it's best to call the restaurant during regular business hours. Overall, I love it here one thing that i never forget to order is their chili naan, It's fantastic!

Incredibly authentic and flavorful Indian food, drinks and desserts at pretty reasonable prices. The buffet was a good spread and the mango lassie was spot on. It's an older property, but don't let that fool you, the place is very well run and has the great ratings to prove it.

We stoped here on our way to San Diego and are very glad that we did. Service was quick and all dishes tasted good. The restaurant has a big dining hall. All meat dishes are halal! We will stop by again next time we are in Bakersfield.

Great punjabi food. We often stop by to pickup and enjoy and had a first time dine in. Courteous host and offer accommodation requested. Had a great weekend buffet but we chose al-a-carte. We ordered Tandoor Chicken, chicken soup, lamb seekh kebab, chole bhature, aaloo and gobhi paranthas, daal makhni, palak paneer, chicken curry and with laccha paranta and butter tandoor roti.. all flavorful. Service and server were great. Recommended for comfort punjabi food.

On the way back from Las Vegas on new year evening. we called heart of India the person answered by Kuldeep & we ordered egg pakora, & chaat papdi, she is amazing person & provide best hospitality. Food was delicious, we enjoyed a lot. I'm late for this review but this place I recommend all of u to try.

Can I just say one thing?!? I am STUFFED! The food here is absolutely delicious and the buffet has a variety that will please everyone. Give this place a try! If you get a chance to try the tea milk drink your soul will be warmed up. Our server Kuldeep was so kind and generous too ☺️

It’s been a while since we have come to this restaurant. It’s been nicely redone on the inside and much brighter. My family come for the Butter Chicken since we think it’s the best in town, but to my surprise today they served Goat Curry. Not gamey at all and the meat was super tender. I think I had more than I should’ve. And to top it off there was complimentary Chai tea ☕️ that had a very light Rose 🌹 note to it. Very pleased. And the staff were super friendly.

I love Indian food and have eaten dishes from all over the US… The Heart Of India prepared our dinner with so much attention to every detail you could taste the love they have for the job. Amazing flavor. Kuldeep was our guide for the evening and met us with a big smile and lots of positive energy. I wish we could take this place with us outside of our memories. Highly recommend the Shrimp Curry Masala!

It was my first time trying Indian food and I was impressed. I went during the buffet hours and it was worth the price for the quality and never ending naan. The service and food was exceptional. Our server Kuldeep was very welcoming and very helpful. The garlic naan was very fresh and the smell of garlic was just delicious. The Dal Makhni was very delicious. The sauce of the Shahi Paneer and Butter Chicken was just flavorful and savory. The Mixed Vegetable Pakora was savory. I highly recommend coming during the buffet hours. I am excited to try the dining experience.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve had in a while ! My expectations were met at this place. I ordered Chana masala, garlic naan, and basmati rice and the spices and flavor in everything was super delicious. Well balanced flavor. Kuldeep was my waitress and she was super polite and made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my meal. 10/10 would come back again! 😎👍
