I love random roadside attractions like this. Well crafted and these stones are huge. You have to walk down a path to get to them so you won't directly see them off the main road.

I’ve been to Alabama so many times to visit the beach but never have I ever heard of this magical semi road side attraction only a few miles and minutes from Foley in a little town called Elberta. Not until Geocaching brought me here and if you haven’t heard of Geocaching please look it up! Wonderful online scavenger hunt type game. Sometimes the treasures found are nothing more than interesting attractions such as this and that’s more than enough! Anyway, nice little area a bit of a drive off the main highway. Great area for picnics. Plan to spend about hour here if you choose to drive all the way to the back and visit the dinosaurs along the way and the interesting sculptures at the marina in the back!

Traveling the world to visit “bamahenge” and it’s magical properties. Tucked away in a hidden area, this place is great. It looks awesome and the kids loved it. Best of all it’s free! Go and stand in awe of the monolithic rocks and the meaning.

This is a fiberglass partial replica of Stonehenge. It sounded so quirky I couldn't pass it by - and it is quirky. Ultimately, not as cool as the Georgia Guidelines were (RIP). There's not much else to do but look say it and take photos, but it is in a pleasant natural setting and it's worth a small detour if you're nearby.

It's a pretty cool little place. I thought maybe there were trails or picnic tables or something to hang out in the area since it's kind of out in the middle of nothing.... but there wasnt.

It's a great site for a few cool pictures. Driving past the area and we found out that the sculpture of the dinosaur were down the road on the tree line. Parking was a bit rough for the rv but it was doable. A really cool place for sure.

From the same artist who brought you Foamhenge in Virginia comes this even larger and more durable version! If you had the opportunity to visit the original in Virginia the location was a lot cooler because it was at the top of a big hill, but the execution on this version is a lot better as one would expect when you have a billionaire benefactor.

We were in Alabama for a family vacation. We decided to go to this place to take some nice pictures. Great, if you have kids and they like dinosaurs 🦕 one of them is hiding. You can't see the rocks from the street, but there is a small road on the side of the main street, then you park and walk a small trail and will see the rocks 🪨.

Pretty cool place! I’d love to see nearby picnic tables or something though. Make it somewhere you can hang out for a bit.

It was very nice afternoon outing. As you can see in a pic, they are quite large (see a little baby sitting in front of it) Nice walking to dinosaur to dinosaur, nothing is around, so it’s very quiet and peaceful. Kids loved it!

I gave 4 stars only because it can be very tricky to find for those who are unfamiliar with the area. And there are no posted signs alerting visitors they have arrived. So allow me to make it easier for you. As you will see in my added photos, there is a patch of land that has been cleared and covered with gravel. You can see it from the road way. That is where you park for Bamahedge. From there, you walk the minute or so long path to the beautiful art called Bamahedge. Enjoy, take pictures (or videos), absorb the moment without a camera lense, and appreciate the artist's work of fiberglass. It's an absolutely beautiful replica.

Classic roadside attraction years after the heyday of such things. Even my jaded world-traveling kids were impressed.

What an experience. A nice place to visit. A little out of the way but worth the drive. Make sure to check out the dinosaurs 🦕 in the woods as well.

This is certainly an interesting tourist attraction. It is a bit gimmicky, but the photos are cool, and it is a unique experience. The stones are just a plastic type material.

It’s my new favorite place to take folks! And it’s free. To the person who built it please email me I really want to talk to someone who does such fascinating things 😊

Who doesn’t love a nice free site?! We went on the weekend and only one other family there. There was a little trail behind Bamahenge. Someone ripped the sign down, so we don’t know what it said. We followed the trail and it led to a nice lake. We didn’t stay long there. I was afraid there may be gators. Lol. Be sure and go up the road to see the dinosaurs in the woods.

Open 24 hours but no lights. Plan for daylight - definitely worth it. Bamahenge is a short path away from parking lot.

We went here because we came across a list of 25 things to visit in AL and this really was the stupid. Highly don't recommend. I'm going to do everything on the list but hope the other attractions are better

Worth a stop & check out all the other “sites” right in the area. Just wish we could have gotten closer to the lady in the marina.

It's just off the road in the middle of nowhere. We stopped on a Friday afternoon so we were the only people there. They did a pretty decent job of making fake rocks. It's not worth making it a destination, but if you're in the area, it's a novel pit stop.

The stones are first *drive further past this stop to see the rest of the stuff, do not walk any paths, they are private property* these are near a country club or something and it’s all private beyond these attractions.

This was a fun experience. But... could use a little guidance on all of the art to see here. Took us a bit to find 2 dinosaurs and we feel like we missed some. The whole road posed art scenes. Do recommend.

Plastic imitation rocks set of road in woods you better be looking for or you will miss

Great place to a ride to on a motorcycle, roads are great. The displays are spread out and make for a nice walk. Things are off the road a ways so you don’t have to worry about vehicle traffic and you can let the kids or dogs run around. We picked a nice fall day and it pretty much bug free. The bamahenge makes me want to go see the real thing. Very cool idea to recreate some of it here in the states.

Would I go out of my way to visit? No. Would I stop by if just happened to be passing through? Sure. They are definitely deteriorating, especially the dinosaurs, and 2 of the 4 dinosaurs are almost impossible to find

This is one of those places that I had bookmarked to stop by if I ever was nearby, and this last weekend I just happened to be driving past so I stopped. It's kind of cool. You can't see it from the highway, so you have to park and walk in. There are several dinosaurs nearby, a couple that you can see from the road, and a couple that are up in the woods. This is a good photo op for kids and families. Make sure you bring some insect repellent! A spray can of OFF! will come in handy.

Oddest place to visit... no parking, no entrance... just dinosaurs and a Stonehenge in the woods.... but my kid loved it, so, ok... its worth the hunt if you are already in the area.

  • 4/5 David F. 2 years ago on Google
Hidden among the trees are mysterious stones aligned with the sun, if you are worthy you will find it. There are no signs to this place, the parking lot is six cars big and the monument is not very visible from the road. Still, it's worth a quick drive out to see it, the dinosaurs, the Trevi fountain and other sculptures all along the way.

    Cool place to see.

So cool. There's only a dirt path to show where to enter the woods so use GPS.

👍👍 We saw Brandon’s variety show last night and we were not disappointed! He entertained the entire time! He is very talented at impressions- he did some magic but we can’t wait to come see his full magic show! He is hilarious and looked like he really enjoys what he does. Very much worth the price...
