I dropped into the Eureka Centre as I'd heard so much about it and I wanted to share it with some school clients. Absolutely worthwhile visiting. At only $6 for a child entry fee, it's excellent value for money. There is plenty to see, with stunningly laid out it has plenty of interactive / educational displays. Viewing the original Eureka flag was quite special to me as a Melbournite. The story that goes along with it is equally interesting. The centre also has a theatre where presentations are given as well. There is a coffee shop available on site, although it wasn't open at the time I was there. THere is a gift shop which has some beautiful items for purchase, especially for tourists. Located just as you drive into Ballarat from the east, it's surrounded by green grass, a playground, toilets nearby and plenty of parking. There are picnic tables and seats and a shelter. This is a must visit when visiting Ballarat. Sovereign Hill is one thing but this is far more intimate, personal and contained into one facility. Highly recommend.

Little museum about the Eureka Stockade. Great to learn about history of Ballarat other than gold mining. There’s a lake and a nice playground outside the museum. Also a nice cafe within the museum if you want a bite.

A must stop when staying or travelling through Ballarat. Under $10 entry to the Eureka Stockade museum, $6 for concession. It's a self walk museum with interactive displays. To actually see the original Eureka Stockade flag is worth the entry price in itself. I love Australian history, and Ballarat has so much of it. Well laid out, easy to get around, I only needed 40 mins to go in and out. Cafe (open to public) was quite large & really busy when l was there. I actually enjoyed the outside area as much. The monuments, flags, and parkland are beautiful. I'm glad l stopped to visit.

Really nice place to visit with the kids! Learn all about an important part of Australia’s history at the museum and then head to Lilly’s for lunch which has a great view of the gardens outside. Play some board games while you wait for your food to arrive and after filling your tummy, perfect time to check out the playground which has lots of sensory elements for the little ones to explore.

Very good historical museum. Plenty of original artifacts, context around the events of the Eureka stockade, acknowledgement of the appropriation of the symbols (without judgement) and very friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic, not what I expected. It celebrates so much. Some of the finest displays I have ever had the privilege to see. The Eureka flag has such a different meaning to me now. The famous speeches room was very moving. But nothing on the song room. Crack that code and you will be truly rewarded. Do yourself a favour.

A bit light on for stories, but otherwise excellent. The flag itself is a must see. Well presented. I wish they would bring back some sort of live show on eureka stockade battle

So good to see part of the history of our country’s democracy being shown and told. Amazing to be up close to the almost 170 year old Eureka flag.

This place was very informative and had a lot of history to share. I was really impressed by the size of the original flag, and it was awesome to get to learn the positive attributes that the southern cross flag stood for and how it helped shape the Australia we live in now.

The Eureka Centre is definitely the cleanest museum I’ve ever been to. I went on Wednesday and the carpets were spotless and the glass displays had no smudges. Very high quality museum and the cleanliness is a testimony to that.

Great part of our history. All nations together . As it should be now. We are one not divided. I'm glad I visited this museum.

Very interesting insight to the mining and life in days of old. Where a democracy was born. Lovely cafe. Plenty of parking. Easy access and gr8 parkland and play ground.

Not what I expected. I was looking for accurate mapping of the significant locations, but all the maps are like hand drawn representations without any scaling. I'll have to revisit for a more complete viewing. If you're a Ballarat resident, it's free, which is very appropriate.

The centre is extremely well put-together. Lots of information that binds the events of Eureka with past and present politics & rebellions. It brings the story to life in such a spellbinding way. Staff were absolutely helpful and lovely. It's absolutely worth a visit.

I was honoured that I got see the Eureka original flag & to be standing on the location where the Rebellion took place. The centre has alot of information on the men & women who risked their lives in the fight for miner's rights & stories of the Eureka Rebellion. So when you are in Ballarat go & see a part of Australian history.

A worthwhile place to visit. A well set out museum exhibition of important Australian history. The outside surrounds are well kept and contain a number of memorials. The cafe attached to the museum provides good refreshment.

Very interesting and informative exhibition of Victoria's Gold rush history. Great aircon, plenty of seats and well stocked souvenir shop. I remember as a kid in the 80s visiting the stockade and there was with the original stockade or replica of the stockade. It was disappointing knowing that has been removed. Exhibition is located in well maintained public gardens that offer picnic areas, children's playground.

A brilliant tribute to the Foundations and History of early Australian's. Your staff are awesome, they are a tribute. An online presence for the gift and souvenir shop would be an asset to share the Eureka value. Your Coffee shop is among the best we visited in Ballarat.

Lilly's cafe is a good spot for morning tea or a light lunch. I've been there a few times and it has always been good. I haven't been into the rest of the museum.

We recently visited on our way to Tasmania and found it quite educational. I'd not taken much notice of the Eureka Stockade story I must confess, but now look at the flag (for example), with different eyes. The education that the flag, was SO much MORE than just a flag associated with some Union...The realisation that it represented the beginning of people, in a vast range of "employment" positions, (from menial to management and everywhere in between) being recognised and treated firstly as human beings, and secondly, and equally importantly, treated more fairly in an earning capacity, rather than slave trade, or a means to someone else's financial gain at the detriment to the individual...well worth the visit.

Highlight is seeing the restored flag. Well presented information about the stockade. Only about $6 entry fee if you’re not from the area.

We loved the information provided in this display. Well done to all involved 👏

Fantastic interpretation from the staff, and well laid out exhibits. But this don’t make up for an almost complete absence of Chinese people and seemingly no mention of the Cronulla Riots. There is also very little discussion in the exhibits of the meaning of democracy, or the democratic process, for a museum of democracy. It feels like a 90s-style presentation. The main reason for visiting would be seeing the flag itself, which is impressive.

This was a great place to learn about Eureka and the Eureka Stockade. They have multiple info boards inside and touchscreen displays so you can learn about it interactively. It was great to learn about the events leading up to the stockade, learning what happened in the stockade and what happened afterwards. They also had a great cafe onsite and the real Eureka flag, which was great to see.

Glad this museum is back to being the Eureka Centre. Not as good as it was when it first opened but still ok for the history. Would be helpful if the staff welcoming staff were long-term locals with local knowledge, not someone who has just recently moved to the area.

I have got to say this place needs more than an hour to stroll through and explore. And certainly don't have a dog in tow whilst you travel through unless there is somewhere cool to leave him/her. Staff friendly. History and tears and accomplishments, hopes and fears of the pioneers of the area are well displayed.

Small museum - only a single room plus the Eureka Flag - but well presented and lots of interesting artefacts to enjoy. I'd say you only need an hour here. There's a nice cafe with good indoor and outdoor seating, though a touch pricey. Also a cute Eureka themed fort playground next to the centre. Our family combined visiting this centre plus the outdoor pool next door on a stinking hot day - was a perfect way to keep cool and amused for the day.

Gorgeous day in the park! Cafe understaffed, food trucks as advertised, weren't there. Luckily we took what we needed for the day. Ballarat City Council, step it up. Ballarat weather can be a disaster but on these gorgeous days, support local.

The museum was full due to covid restrictions but the park outside was perfect to sit under the redwood tree and watch the ducks and clouds go by. Watch out for dog owners who don’t understand leashes or how to control their exuberant pups

Well worth the visit, it’s a great little museum and it has a excellent cafe attached that is also worth a visit.

Really cool, though I thought the might've been a bit more here, like a mock up of the actual stockade.. But still, a fun place with an interesting way to learn about some of the history of our nation!

Absolutely loved it. The speakers made us very welcome even though there was a school group going through. The interactive displays, cafe and the gift shop were top class. A very proud and informative experience.
