I spent three nights here with my family while visiting DC. I chose this hotel for affordability and location. It’s close to a Metro stop in a safe neighborhood with lots of dining options. This is an old hotel desperately in need of a refresh. It’s aesthetically in disrepair and could use some modern upgrades. This was off putting at first, but the hotel was very clean and functional. The beds were not the greatest but not terrible, good pillows, clean soft linens. The pool was nice but the pool chairs need to be replaced and I had to ask for towels. But the staff was pleasant and helpful. At the front desk, Mimi was particularly gracious and helpful. She gave me good local advice and was very friendly. Friendly people at the front desk go a long way towards making a good stay. I’ll consider staying here again next time we’re visiting DC.

I had a very nice experience during my two day stay. The location is in a fantastic place. The hotel itself is a bit dated as it has been around for almost 50 years! However, front desk staff Mimi had such a great disposition and was absolutely accommodating with everything. Salute to her 🫡 and my stay. I will be back! Ashley at the front desk was diligent in trying to find me basic amenities. David that works third shift is the BEST of the best bunch! He knows his stuff!!!! If you check in, tell David I sent you!

Our first time staying at this location. Clean and comfortable spacious room. Perfect location for us, early morning surgery nearby. The staff were great and super helpful. I would recommend it if staying in the area.

Wonderful and well-appointed hotel. My floor was decorated with lots of crumbs and my bed had a nice ergonomic slope in the middle which were very thoughtful additions. I’d thought I’d stayed at awful hotels but this holiday inn certainly outdid them all in nearly every regard. Thank you holiday inn for my three sleepless nights. Also i was apparently charged twice for the same stay. I’d already booked but they wouldn’t let me check in because I was “late” so I paid for the same room again. They also wouldn’t let me book a room at the front desk - I had to buy the room through an online service. Adding to this an expensive pair of sunglasses disappeared during my stay which made me a bit sad. I’d like to say there was a positive to my stay at this hotel and there was — it ended! I wouldn’t stay at this hotel if it were free and they provided unlimited free steak dinners, vintage wines, massages and black car service.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. Shower ceiling had a foot size gap/opening and the tub is outdated but the staff were very friendly. Yenni at the lounge/breakfast was very courteous and kind. I would stay again because the location and the staff were great!

Kristi at the front desk is an excellent person and agent. She is always happy whenever whatever we asked. She seems into her job. She deserves a raise. The room and infrastructure are old. Breaksfast is not included. You can request for a microwave, toothpaste, toothbrush, shave cream, shaver. Room cleaning service is on request only.

It was alright, your typical hotel affair, and a pretty decent "upfront" price considering the location on Fairfax. However, I was not expecting the parking to cost $18 a night. I don't know if that's standard for the area, but it stung upon checkout. Also, there is no included breakfast in the morning. Again, don't know if that's normal for the area or not.

What a great place to stay. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Not sure the photos do it justice. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for staying in the Ballston area if the object is visiting DC or just staying in the Arlington area. We stayed there since my spouse was having early morning surgery nearby. We recommend it.
