There’s nothing here. There used to be stores here where you could shop for things like clothes and shoes. There used to be a movie theater even. Now there’s a Macy’s and a food court and literally nothing else. Worst renovation I’ve ever seen in a mall. Worst mall I’ve ever been to. Came to shop, and walked through an empty Macy’s and an empty mall. There is absolutely no shopping to be done here whatsoever. I think I saw a gym though.

Since we moved to Fairfax, VA we're slowly exploring new places and restaurants. So today we went to 'Ballston Quarter Mall' in Arlington, VA. I'm not impressed with this mall - it's DEAD however it was not your regular mall. The only anchor store was Macy's but not enough popular stores/boutiques that we are familiar with. The food court did not have your usual food court stores, instead it was a combination of fewer high restaurants and low. The higher restaurants like: 'Kung Fun Tea and JINYA Ramen Bar' are hidden around the down stairs going to the street I noticed only 2 tables with people. Outside the mall Mezeh, Rice Crook, Go Poke ... The mall has an indoor and outdoor layout. The indoor is full of empty seats to relax with painted murals and plants. The outdoor/patio is green with some restaurants and places to look at the street. Definitely they need to get more stores or revamp this mall to attract more people, because I don't see any future there. Basically the mall doesn't have a lot to do other than the Regal Theater, or go to the gym. The only good thing is the parking for $1 for 3 hours, very inexpensive for Northern Virginia. There's no reason to go back there!

**Ten out of ten I would eat there again*** Our party split up, I ate at the Oh-K-dog on the bottom floor. For a very reasonable price (dont remember exactly how much)I ordered the 2 chicago style dogs. I seriously couldn't finish both. But luckily it's served in a cardboard Togo box! For someone not accustomed to eating out of their comfort zone, There are safe options. Like what I ordered (I have dietary restrictions, bummer). But if you are adventurous, just let the spirit move you. You won't be disappointed. My meal had very generous, crisp, And flavorful toppings The perfectly fried potato cake/hashbrown on the side was wonderful, reminiscent of a highschool breakfast..but not in a bad way. Excellent flavors, and a good value. 10/10 would eat there again!

Absolutely one of my favorite locations in Arlington. You can quite literally spend the whole day here. There are multiple restaurants here - on the street level, on the top floor level and on the basement level in the Ballston quarter market. You have everything from tacos to Poke to boba to ramen to ice cream. There is a gym, there are bars, there is a regal movie theater, an escape room, a cooking class. Quite literally has a lot to do. Overall, I love Ballston Quarter.

Fun place to explore. Our large family group ate at the food court, which is one of the better ones I have seen. A lot better food selection than your typical mall fast-food options.

This is being remodeled and even though it was a rainy day, there were a lot of people eating. If you can't decide what you want, or have a hankering for something different, this the place to go. There are so many unique choices to chose from. Most of the chains are unheard of except for chi-fil-a. We had a fun time trying foods we never had

There’s an awesome food court with a ton of options. However, until the mall fixes its parking garage, any experience here is tainted for parking customers. The attendants have been trained by management to be as rude as possible to guests, pay stations on various levels do not work (I had to pay twice to get out since the attendant refused to believe I had already paid and my receipt wouldn’t print), and lines can subsequently be very long. Please take responsibility for the state of your garage instead of deflecting blame on customers through your rude attendants. Otherwise, any trip to the great restaurants and places of interest at the Quarter come with a grain of salt.

Modernized shopping mall with a unique food court. Everything is expensive but nothing is bad either. Nice place to chill or eat with people wanting different kinds of food.

Bright, clean environment. Clean bathrooms. Elevators, stairs, and escalators for mobility options. Good eateries. Not a lot of stores. Hard to navigate via the list of stores (there is no map, you have to download an app). Somewhat confusing parking payment system, but cheap.

This place used to be packed before they redid it. It doesn't even look like a mall anymore. It's so boring and bland looking. That open roof is gonna cause problems in the future as well. All they have are restaurants and a Macy's. What happened to all the old stores? This place is a ghost town 95% of the time. Even the people working there look bored out of their minds. Go to another mall if you want to have a fun experience. Go here as a last resort.

Best centralized food selection in Arlington 👀 Food court, ice rink, and cinema are a great time especially with the new renovations Parking is now a gates open, self payment style which requires an app so be weary.

I come to this mall for various reasons: Chick Fil, my bank Capital One, CVS, Ted's Bulletin (ordered to go), True Food (food pictures attached), eyebrow threading, and overall to enjoy the public sharing place (also added photos as well). The scenery inside the mall is beautiful and I love how all these services are conveniently in one location and near my work.

I am very dissatisfied with the new parking situation the mall has begun to use. I have received 2 $10 tickets since the change. The first was because they changed tickets w/o notifying upon entering. (Gates we’re open, I thought they were being Maintenance). Second I paid before walking in and when I came out after movie I STILL had another $10 ticket on my windshield. My friends and I all decided it’s not worth the hassle anymore. We’ll be taking our business elsewhere.

This place is so beautiful, food is very tasty as well. My only concern is the staff that work with the games, like karaoke and bowling. They aren't very helpful and don't pay attention to what we are ordering and the time of each request.

Best food court of any mall I've ever been to! Rogi is the best of the best! I'm not a mall person, but after seeing and visiting this food court, I definitely will return many times!

Nice sections, just off of METRO Train stop - Ballston Station. Not so much well known big Capitol City names for dining, however, retains popularity showing attractive outside seating. In this walkable area the big names are Macy's and Regal Cinema. Annie

A rainy Sunday 2 weeks before Christmas and the inside was a ghost town except the lower food court. That seems being worked on, at least I hope so, very dark and unappealing. The area outside along Glebe and Wilson seem upbeat but the (former) mall is a downer. Mostly empty former shops. We had looked forward to the ice cream place but the flavors were not as great as expected.

Tremendous improvement in many ways. It was long overdue. The mixed residential and dining choices are awesome. I welcome even more diverse choices and clientele. I wish all of these businesses continued success.

I love this Mall, and the parking is very cheap and full of options. Nice setting area. Excellent neighborhood, cinema theater. Ski for $3 on Tuesdays. Nice Macys, and my favorite Mezeh restaurant .

Plenty of eating options and various places to sit indoors and outdoors. Some retail shops available as well. Located near other retail shops just outside. Nice parking garage attached. I think it's $1 for 3 hours of parking then it goes up a little. There's a nice plant store, gym, and Muse Paint Bar inside.

I like this new place a lot better than I liked it when it used to be a mall a few short years ago. The mall really needed a major facelift and that is exactly what it got (out with the old, in with the new), plus the old mall seemed to attract a not-so-good crowd of people who would hang out there all day and every day. The only thing is that I hope to see a few more retail and dining options in the future. It still looks like a work in progress. I also do not like the graphic art that they have on the upper level (outside), because in my opinion, a “real” mural is a painting on a wall... not a large sheet of canvass or plastic with graphic art on it.

Great indoor and outdoor mall for food and entertainment. Close to the metro and even walkable from most places in Rossyln. Often go hear for the vast selection of restaurants but also come to play the various games in this mall. I would highly recommend this place!

Highly recommend. I'm here all the time. Lots of food options. Plenty of space for kids to play. And plenty of space if you don't want to be around kids playing. The beer stand is great. Very little downside.

I have never experienced a mall this small and with not many business. I only give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐ because it is squeaky clean even the bathrooms are nice. Macy's has very little to choose from but what they do have is very beautiful

  • 5/5 Frank J. 2 years ago on Google
Lively location. Plenty of food and drink to choose from. There's a Macy's but the leaving soon according to others. Regardless, you can walk, shop, and catch up with friends or family at the unique food court. It's family friendly too! There's a little area with large steps for parents to sit and kids mingle.

The Ballston mall used to fulfill all the roles that a mall should fill, and was aesthetically competent, aside from the dated floor tiling. The mall was as open as any other mall, had plenty of stores for people to shop at, plenty of spaces for people to gather and hang out, and a classic mall style food court. The mall had a vast array of design features that made it special, like the brick and glass elevator that brought you down to the food court which had a large fountain in the middle, along with outdoor style tables and umbrellas. The atmosphere was great for a mall. People would throw coins into the fountain and overall the mall felt unique. I really don’t see why they updated the mall. The new one has many narrow halls that lead to nowhere only with the illusion of space due to the knocked down walls and open floor that lets you see through the building. Lots of space feels wasted, and to add to that there aren’t even any stores. I understand that COVID was/is going on but that just can’t be used as an excuse anymore. I find myself very often going to other malls like the Tysons corner center or the pentagon city mall because the new Ballston quarter simply doesn’t have any stores in it. Despite covid malls can still thrive, and they are. As evident by the two I listed. Its clear that the out of touch developers were going for one thing and one thing only. millennial patronage. The entire downstairs is clearly targeted towards young adults with all the bars, expensive and seemingly upscale food options that make up what is “the quarter market”. Or what would be a food court in a normal mall. This downstairs area is dimly lit, features unfinished ceilings, and a concrete floor. The atmosphere does not match what I feel a mall should. While it is a fun area to eat and hang out with friends, it isn’t really a food court. A food court is meant to serve patrons of the mall while they shop. At the Ballston quarter, “the quarter market” really is the only thing going for it. above the food court is a vast array of empty shops. shops are few and far between, you will pass many areas that have been blocked off by what seem to be fake walls. While the shopping areas behind the walls remain hidden the walkways feel ever more pointless. They lead to nothing and there is really no point in walking around the mall. According to the Ballston quarter, “Ballston Quarter is a new, urban destination where the area's best chefs, entertainment options, events, shopping, and more”. doesnt it feel kind of weird that they are still advertising it as new after 3 years. Almost like they didn’t get the response they where looking for. Not one major retailer has moved in to any of the shopping spaces, and the only clothing store in the mall is the unrenovated and clearly understocked Macys, which had been there since before the mall got renovated.

Nice spot with a variety of meal options. Definitely planning to go back. Clean and spacious.

The mall has a lot of places to shop and eat and can't wait to go back and check out more. Loved the holiday decorations! The only map i could find was using a QR code and it was NOT helpful. The map, floors, and elevators are all labeled differently lol

To be fair the mall itself is okay, but the escalator design to get to the food court is atrocious. I happen to go to the food court a lot and for some reason, the escalator that I need to take to get either up or down is always the further escalator. They need to switch them so they go the opposite way! I will change my review once they fix this
