This restaurant had a bit of a wait which turned out great because we had to sit at the bar and met Zach. He made us feel so welcome and really made a boring night out actually fun. Great personality, quick and professional service. I’m ready to come back and hang with my buddy Zach at the bar. It was my first time here and he definitely left a lasting impression.

Excellent Fajitas! This place reminds me of an upscale on the border. Good quality proteins and well prepared. Tortillas seemed fresh and all the veggies were crisp. Will be back!

The food here is just alright. This isn't the best Uncle Julio's by a long shot. Bad acoustics, so when it gets crowded, it's really loud. The decor is all mismatched. Different flooring, different wallpapers, random paintings and mirrors all over. For the food... The chips were half acceptable, half stale. Enchiladas were on the bland side, the chicken honestly didn't look fully cooked. Chicken bowl has mushy rice, barely any chicken, and only a tiny spoonful of guacamole. Our margarita was salted on only one side....? Strange. The food and service are still fast, and the location is convenient. But there's something really wrong here, it's better to try some local food instead.

Only two other tables, but still a long wait on drinks, refills, and food even with lots of staff. Had to remind server about drink order. Asked for a refill on tea and salsa and I guess we irked the server because he was very unpleasant the rest of our meal. Food was mediocre at best. Disappointed after hearing so many great things. Fish tacos were dry, rice was bland, I'd like to taste more than just cheese when eating the enchiladas. Salsa was good.

The food and drinks were so yummy! We got the swirl drink for $5 during happy hour and we got the taco bar special for taco Tuesday. Both were great deals. The service was horrible though. They were clearly understaffed. We were only given 12 tortillas for the 6 of us and when we asked for more tortillas (which is included in the price) it took them an hour to get to us and by that time the food was cold. It also took them quite a while to bring us drinks and the bill which overall sort of ruined our experience.

Enjoyed a fantastic Tex-Mex experience at Uncle Julio's! The flavors were authentic, and the atmosphere added to the overall dining pleasure. The staff was friendly, making it a great spot for those craving delicious Tex-Mex cuisine. Highly recommended!

Food was pretty good but it took us almost 40 mins to get the food and 20 more minutes for dessert. I love the atmosphere. It was really nice outside the terrace. I would definitely come back. It may not be a good place for people who are super hungry. Luckily we were taking our time.

My friend loves the Mexican food and this one is in out neighborhood which seems popular. We were very excited about trying it. first we walked in the restaurant. The host brought us to a table in a very crowded area. I would understand if we have no more table options. But there were plenty tables next to the window. And when I asked to sit by the window where have three empty tables, she said no we can’t get those seats without any reasons. Not reserved or anything. I don’t what was going on… 15 mins later there were two couple got the tables next to the window …. Second the server was pretty good. We like the service. But the tortillas tasted not very fresh and the fish taco had a bit strong spice on it. Other than that it’s okay.

Ate here as part of a larger group of about 15 and they did a good job of getting all our orders and getting them to the table about the same time. A few of us got fajitas including me and they were really good. More than enough food. And very good quality and flavor. I’ll have to come back next time I’m in town…

Great family friendly Mexican restaurant just near the Ballston Metro, that serves up delicious food but plan to be waiting around for it. We took our family of four for lunch and had a great time, ate great food, and the kids were given great respect by the staff. The food was high quality, with the kids having quesadillas and my wife and I having fajitas. Everything was perfectly cooked, the flavours were strong, the spice level was mild. The portion size was okay given the cost, but there are more generous restaurants out there if you are a big eater. The margaritas were delicious, but the size and alcohol content was not as generous as other places given the price point. The staff were friendly, made us feel welcome, and we're great at there job. The only point to note was that it was all so slow, from the circuit the wait staff took, to the time it took for food to come out (we were in early so it wasn't busy yet). Anyway had a great overall experience, would definitely recommend it to friends, and can't wait to go back!

Food was tasteful with good presentation. Servers were helpful and polite. However, our Large Group (no reservation) resulted in a long wait after the order of our food. Just over 95 minutes for a party of over 20 people. Would recommend advising the servers to provide the food as they are completed in lieu of serving at the same time. Noted other customers in restaurant were able to order, receive food, and complete meal before our party even got our food.

Had an overall great experience here! We were a party of 28 and they were still able to do multiple split checks, much appreciated. We started off with the bar which had a great atmosphere to it, good lighting not too bright or dark and amazing service from the bartenders!! Then, we proceeded to be sat. They were able to add as many tables as we needed. Our reservation was at 9:15pm, picked this time because we knew earlier they’d be in the middle of a dinner rush. Our server was very attentive of making sure all orders were taken correctly. The chips & quesadillas seemed to be the fan fave appetizers of our group. I myself ordered the chicken fajitas, I was impressed with the flavor it had not only on the chicken but on the fresh grilled veggies too!!! Huge kudos to the staff at Uncle Julio’s Arlington who made this possible to celebrate a birthday at!!

Uncle Julio's Serves Very Delicious Food! The Atmosphere Is Nice; Especially On The Weekends! The Drinks and Food Are Fresh! Service Is Top Notch! They Have A Large Margarita Menu. Also The Table Side Fresh Made Guacamole; Keeps Customers Coming Back! We Love The Mixed Fajitas; Which Includes A Lobster Tail!

Great place for authentic Mexican food. Arrived there around 7PM with a group of 6. In less than 10 minutes we were already seated. Very friendly staff and the food was great. The portions were decent and the prices reasonable. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended!

Worth the hype. The chips and salsa were out of this world and flowed like a river. The salsa uses a smoked pepper, maybe adobo which elevated the flavor and made it almost addictive The birria tacos use incredible melt in your mouth braised beef and come with a fine consumme to dip in The fajitas platters come out sizzling and not because they put dirty water on the tray. The sound and smoke you see are the onions and peppers cooking on a cast iron tray gaining a beautiful color and flavor. The addition of grilled zucchini increases the tacoes texture helping contrast the same braised beef from before. Even the Grocamole served with it was out of this world Finally the chocolate pinata is worth the capital expense. The entertainment of smashing open a pinata and envy of your neighborhood tables is enough to justify. But the churros, chocolate sauce, fresh pineapple and whip cream definitely don't hinder the decision. Highly recommend the restaurant, and can see why they have various chains.

Great spot! I had managed expectations for a chain Mexican restaurant but was pleasantly surprised. We lived in Texas for four years and grew up in Colorado, we have an appreciation for good Mexican and TexMex. Food was great, drinks were good, service was quick and efficient.

We had a nice evening out on the patio enjoying dinner & drinks. The food was flavorful and the staff was attentive while we were there. Portions were plentiful and tasty which I liked, yum margarita had just the right spice. I would definitely go back and I’m already thinking about possibly trying their Taco Tuesday.

I was enjoy my meal at uncle julio’s. I ordered beef enchiladas. When it was time to eat I found a piece of blue glove in my food. I felt disgusted and left with my whole family

I understand that this location was incredibly busy when we went, but it took a half hour for our drinks to arrive. I ordered a margarita with a salt rim and this is what I was served. We had to ask twice for water, which arrived after we started eating. My quesadilla was cold, but my boyfriend liked his dish. We then waited another half hour after eating for our waitress to pick up our credit card and check. Overall, not a great experience here and based on other locations of this restaurant, we won’t be going back.

Been here several times when visiting family and friends. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. I recommend the grilled fish tacos corn tortillas and the beef fajitas. If you like it a little more spicy, ask for the habanero salsa on the side for topping. I also recommend Uncle Julio’s Gold margaritas. Only wish they would sell it by the pitcher!

The food was terrible, and I was still fully expected to pay the entire bill after my order was incorrectly placed, and when I ask for a simple add of shrimp instead of the fish to the tacos, the pushback was a bit offputting. After the request was denied, the service hit an all time low. No one asked me anything about my dish because I wanted to switch as well as my server only talk to me to take the order and deliver the food and to deliver the check he clearly saw that I had an entire plate, and only one bite was taken Never once asked I look for the manager nowhere inside the mind blowing part this place was completely was not even at 10% capacity. I do not recommend this place please find another venue for your taste of Mexican.
