Well maintained park great for walks or just feeding the ducks. Nice play area for children, outdoor workout machines, tennis courts and newly built skate park. Benches located throughout the park. Free parking and toilets on site. Don't leave the park after closing time because they don't check if there are visitors in the park and they will lock you in. When we approached about being locked in they just stared at us and shrugged their shoulders. We eventually ended up climbing over the wall to get out.

I used to be a play park designer and can say this is one of the best parks I've visited. Loads for the kids to do. Suitable for all ages and abilities, had plenty of wheelchair accessible equipment too (by far the most I've seen in a park before). Parking is a little limited but wasn't an issue when we visited (a Sunday). There are other facilities on site including a skatepark, ball courts and coffee/snack trailer - perfect for the parent waiting on the sidelines. The play area is completely surfaced, so no matter the weather the kids can play without getting muddy. It's also completely fenced in so your young ones can run around without you having to keep too close an eye on them. Would definitely recommend.

We have been just to the playground, there wasn't enough time to go around. Kids loved. Playground is amazing! It's so big and full of different activities. Beside the playground are pond with wild ducks that you can feed and a facility with a toilets. There are plenty of space to park.

Great location! plenty of room for wee children to play with two parks being separated for the big kids. However the park is very dated an the wood work needs a huge revamp! The park has so much potential!

Great place for kids and Adults. Lots of different climbing frames and slides for the kids and excercising equipment for adults. Also good for dog walking but must be kept on the lead which is good and if you like birds you can buy seed in the viewing gallery to feet them.

The birds were the highlight of our visit. New Play Park not great compared to others in the area. And toddler park littered and dated.

Very well kept. Very clean. Playpark area a bit too big to keep an eye on more than one child at a time.

Free parking to a very large play park. Toilet facilities in the main building. Tennis courts too. One of the largest modern free play parks I have visited all clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend visiting. There is a pond area that was closed off during our visit possibly due to avian bird flue in the area.

Lovely walks around people's park for all ages, with duck pond and swans. Recently built play park is one of the best I've seen, lots of climbing frames and things to entertain kids, well laid out too so never feels really busy even if there are lots of kids there. Also has inclusive swings and sensory play for those with special needs.

Great park!! Great amenities. Recommended. Bathrooms should be open dawn to dusk… sadly they where not on a weekday at 2PM with great weather…..

A lovely environment all round, so popular & was really busy on the day myself & my little nephew visited. He was straight to the on site park, had to try everything on offer, then it was straight to the outdoor skater/scooter facility ( Though he forgot his scooter!) But we shall return with better preparation for sure . A lovely duck pond and football/tennis facilities here as well, a very nice place indeed.

It has a spot for everyone in the family, fun area for the kids. It is lovely to have a skaters area too.

Amazing entertaining place. You can have a full day here without being bored❤

Brilliant park with everything needed to keep little ones busy. Probably one of the best park suited for toddlers we've been to, most of parks tend to have equipment for bigger children and very little for toddlers, but over here most everything is suitable for toddlers. Plus nice walking paths and a duck pond.

The new play park is looking good with additions planned. The recent Urban Beach was a big hit. The park is always well kept with good lighting. There are two play parks for younger and older children, an information centre with toilet facilities and a deck to feed the ducks. Always nice for a little trip with the kids.

A beautigul place for a relaxed walk

  • 5/5 Austell H. 4 years ago on Google
Free parking with no height restriction (gate locked at night) and there's plenty of play things for small children, nice landscaping with good, if a bit hilly, tarmac paths. Theres a reception building that is no longer staffed but it has public toilets, vending machines both tea etc and snacks and a viewing deck next to the large pond where you can feed the ducks. There is also tennis court that has to be paid for but has to be booked before arriving there and there is a changing room with showers in the reception building that now seems to be used as a store room. Not sure if it in use anymore. Parts of the park look Victorian but the nothing to tell you about its history.

Peoples Park is a such credit to Ballymena! Lots of stuff for children to play on. Outside fitness equipment for all ages, free of charge. I went with my 96 year old aunt who enjoyed feeding the doves, pigeons, ducks, geese and swans plus other water birds. Plenty of seating for elderly to rest. Lovely water fountain and small lake. Lovely flashes of colour from flower beds. A variety of lovely trees and other interesting foliage. Small enough to get around easily yet enough room for everyone. Cafe and toilet facilities central and very clean. Good free parking. We had a very pleasant time. Lovely fresh air and such pleasant people visiting with their children and dogs ready for a chat. Thanks to all responsible for such a lovely area. Can highly recommend!

If it's nice weather and your kids like feeding birds this is the spot. My 2 and 5 year olds love it and if they tire of the birds you still have two parks to choose from.

I love going here to screw about with my mates and have fun. It's a good place to go on your bike as there is a lot of hills and plenty of bike racks. Although I don't really like the new playground as much as I did the old one when I was younger, it is still really enjoyable and the playgrounds are safe for both younger and older kids. The park ranger is also really nice and very helpful. I have so many good memories from the People's Park. Absolutely great place!
