Mid-week visit on route further north. Always look out for a good Indian restaurant. First time here but didn't disappoint. Food excellent - one of the best we've been to. A shout out to Manish who was friendly and attentive. Chilled atmosphere for a Wednesday evening. Will definitely be back next time we pass this way. Thanks 👏

Don't know how this place has such high reviews, tried it 3 times and it's been pretty bad each time. Madras was spicier than a typical vindaloo and had an egg fried to cinders on top(??) If you want a good authentic curry there are definitely better options in the Dunfermline area.

Decent atmosphere friendly attentive staff we were in a large group but the time between starter and main was the only minor hiccup. Food was decent

This is my first time ordering from this restaurant after months of passing by, tempted everyday, and boy I wasn’t disappointed. The madras is to die for! We ordered so much more and it was all totally delish! I have been promised a “date night” to sit in and enjoy this food in their stylish, traditional setting next time… until then

A lovely meal out with the wife on a Sunday evening. The starter sharing platter for 2 was fantastic, with plenty on the plate. The mains were also good-sized portions and tasty as well.

Very positive first experience of Taste of India, having been badly let down on last meal by restaurant (Bay Leaf in Pumpherston) which we used for years. Meal was delivered in good time, was incredibly tasty, and we are already looking forward to ordering from TOI again.

Sadly the wait times really let the experience down here. They seemed far more focused on attending to deliveries than the customers in the restaraunt. They had one staff member doing a mix of everything whilst the other spent the majority of their time behind the bar. Waited over an hour for 2 mains and a naan bread on a table we booked in advance, think we were forgotten about until we were considering leaving. Food was very good though.

The takeout lamb tikka massala was actually very tasty, and the meat nice and soft without being chewy, the sauce quite delicious, but I think the 'artificial colouring' of the dish was a bit over the top, too rusty/reddish looking.

I ordered food for collection but on arriving home I was one meal short. On phoning they apologized profusely and then delivered it to my home within 15mins of my call. I know mistakes can be made but it's how they deal with it that matters. Their customer service was fantastic and It wouldn't stop me from reordering because the food never disappoints, absolutely delicious as always. As

It was good, the dips for the popadoms are great none are spice and all are very tasty! I had mango chicken tikka with garlic cheese nan, and boiled rice the nan was an ok size for 2, if I had it again I would swap the rice as not that good and the portion size of rice is small. I definitely would have the mango curry again!

We were in on Friday for a family meal and the service was really poor, I understand it's a really busy time of year but they really should have more staff on. We were a table of 9 and we had to wait so long on food, when it eventually come it was cold. We did say at the time about our frustration but were totally ignored, so disappointed 😥

We used to really enjoy this restaurant’s food. We have ordered from them 2-3 times in the last few months and we’ve had to double check whether we accidentally ordered from somewhere else. Where is the true Indian flavour we used to love? The food is bland, lacking the delicious flavours one expects from Indian food. And it’s expensive for what you get. The tikka is bland and overcooked, the tarka has no seasoning and is bland and the jalfrezi, while spicy hot, is a strange orange colour and sweet - I’ve never had a sweet jalfrezi before. Suspect ketchup is the culprit in the sauce. Please bring back true Indian flavours!

At the beginning everything looked nice but 1) asked for not spicy dishes. Unfortunately spicy dish, ruined our night... 2) when we asked for desert, they waiter said they are closing now. We did ask before we order our food if it will be ok to order and desert later and said no problem. The order took some time, regardless we're only 2 parties in the restaurant including us. However, we said ok, we would like to pay then and the waiter brought to us the desert menu with bad attitude. It made us uncomfortable and we divided do not order desert and just pay and leave. We are not visiting this restaurant again...

Arrived at 1.20pm for lunch, (opening times 12.00pm - 2.00pm), staff were in a hurry to close at 2.00pm. Served our starters along with our main meal, by the time we had finished our starters our main meal was cold. Didn't stay for dessert/coffee as felt unwelcome. We left at 1.50pm. Told staff it was the quickest meal we had ever had and if they couldn't serve us at 1.20pm they should have told us and we would have gone somewhere else. Disappointed.

Excellent value 3 course lunch, portion size just right for a mid day meal without leaving you bloated all afternoon. Staff very friendly and premises were clean with plenty distance and screens between tables.

we have used this takeaway for 30+ years. Our last order was 30min late, cold and my donner meat was pretty dried out, even if we had complained we wouldn't have got another delivery. I called 3 times tonight to place a delivery order. As I was trying to ask for a reasonably edible meal and trying to tell what had happened last time. They ended the call. Not just once -- 3 times. I just wanted to order and pay. They have not just lost us but anyone we know as customers.

Had the lunch menu £9.99. Thought I was at a dolly's tea party. Small cup of cofee to start. 4 tiny bits of chicken pakora. Would have looked better if it was 2 bigger pieces. In all my years I have never seen such a small portion. Main course a very small portion of chicken boona which was nice but not great. My wife had one of the sweetest korma we have ever had the misfortune to eat. Why do we have to eat such over sweet korma. Nan was delicious. When the waiter asked me how I found the chicken pakora i said with my glasses on.

  • 1/5 Linda F. 1 year ago on Google
Disgraceful portion sizes! Rice and main courses both served in the smallest plastic takeaway containers available. Nan was tiny. Spiced onions came in a tiny plastic pot. We ate all of it at once. Never done that ever. Prices not reduced but portion sizes about a THIRD of usual size. So, so disappointed and angry. Food was delicious but the " bitter taste " of beong " ripped off " lingered.

Not great, just had a butter chicken and there is no doubt in my mind that they've used the packet of powder from 'Cheesy Pasta'. It was 100% in there. Not trying to be funny. That's what it was. Chicken looked like precooked chicken from a packet. Awful. Won't be back.

  • 3/5 Steve J. 1 year ago on Google
Great food but once again waited over 20mins beyond my pick up time to collect. Why give collection times you can’t make? Don’t mind waiting, just be honest.
