I had debilitating chronic illness with IBS/crohn's-like symptoms for over a decade and I'd seen so many doctors who never managed to improve any of my symptoms, were rude and diminishing, and even after insurance I'd had to pay probably around 15 grand in bills over that timespan. Dr. Hagan was time efficient and genuinely listened to me. Her focus was to treat my symptoms even if no prior doctor had managed to put a diagnosis for the cause of them. She diagnosed my condition within two visits, and the medicine is wildly affordable and effective. Dr. Hagan changed my life. Before seeing her, everything I ate reduced me to a fetal position and wrought havoc on my body for as long as I could remember. Now, I almost never have pain. I cannot thank her enough.

Dr. Bryan Curtin has been an angel sent from god. I have had so many stomach issues, stomach procedures, put on meds etc… been to numerous specialists and what not. I understand I still have issues with anytime I consume any types foods or drinks my stomach swells up to make me look as if I am 9 months the pregnant. Keep in mind that I am a 50 year old male. However, he has a plan for me and a better future in his sights. Just because something didn’t work that he tried, he didn’t just push me off to someone else. I fully respect this man for the person he is and for the Dr that he became. I envy him. When we finally reach the right balance of what I need to be cured of this stomach disease, it truly will be one of the best days of my life.

Although I truly do not like having biopsies done, and fought it for so many years, the procedure went well. The staff are wonderful, and what impressed me was they (the doctors) explained what they were going to do and how they were going to go about the process. Actually took their time and talked to me and asked me if I had any questions. I will say that it’s so better to go through your neck than your side. It sounds gross . But no pain like through your side.

I appreciate the outstanding care that I receive at The Institute. Digestive conditions and ailments are often misdiagnosed and/or mis-treated. That is is why I am very confident and grateful for the excellent care that I receive from my soft-spoken, patient and brilliant Dr Paul Thuluvath, whom I've nick-named "Dr. T'". It's not easy finding caring, brilliant physicians who are doctors. Thank you, Dr. T.

Absolutely the worst doctors visit in my 58 years of living. Doctor completely uninterested in finding out whats wrong... just trying to upsell additional procedures. I spent 7 minutes in her presents and she never looked me in the eye, touched my stomach 4 times and billed me almost $900. I will be looking for a legit doctor for my colorectal needs!

I recently had a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy performed by Dr Huber at Mercy Hospital.. Nobody likes these tests but they are very important to our health especially as we age. Dr Huber, all the staff from the front desk to the desk in the testing center, RN's, & assistants, technicans, and stocking & cleaning staff were all professional, helpful, and kind. The procedure room was amazing with sophisticated ,new equipment. The Procedure Team worked together smoothly and efficiently. I was discharged with color printed pictures of my test results and diagnosis. The Dr reviewed it with me before discharge. I would highly recommend Dr Huber and Mercy Hospital for these procedures.

Dr. Huber listen to my concerns and he addressed each of them. He was kind and he explained my health care information in simple language. He appeared to be concern about my overall health. Dr. Huber has a very good bedside manner.

While the medical provider I met with was pleasant and knowledgeable, the appointment staff was confusing, defensive, and not at all pleasant. I'm thinking of changing practices as a result. Not a good set up regarding the administrative aspects of how appts are scheduled and changed. Proceed at your own risk.

I ❤️ Dr. Curtin. He has a great 'bedside manner'. For example, I had a test with Dr Curtin @ Mercy Hospital. The nurse wheeled me to surgical room, Dr Curtin met us halfway down the hallway to greet me! It was so nice of him to do that. I've had many procedures/surgeries in the last 15+ yrs. All of the doctors are nice but NOT one of them met me in the hallway just to 'chit chat'. I didn't give 5 stars because it's hard to get a appointment with him. Had a telemed appt with Dr Curtin and I had to reschedule. (The ladies that work with Dr Curtin are so nice and helpful too). I just didn't like the person that I was scheduled with. I didn't understand that I needed to get into 'my chart' so I called the office and they worked me in with her. She was not happy with me. I was a half hour late and apparently I didn't get some kind of xray done. I had no idea about it. I had no clue that I needed a test & xray. I have alot of doctors I go to & only 1 other doctor that has mychart. I have never went through Mychart for appointments including telemed. 🙄

I relocated to Baltimore about a year ago. That’s when I was first referred to Mercy’s Dr. Yoo. I couldn’t be happier. He is great. He discusses lab results and suggestions in a collaborative way. He’s very personable and professional. Highly recommend.

I appreciate Dr. Hagan's expertise and her caring manner. I understand that keeping good medical records is key, and that sometimes the trainee/resident's emphasis on date of onset and checking off all the survey items seems to detract from the my communication of my real concerns. I'm concerned that the intermediary "interpretation" of my presenting ailments is not what the doctor necessarily needs to hear. I feel like the process treats me like a cog in a transactional process rather than a person. I love Dr. Hagan's concern, but the teaching process and its anomalies leaves me concerned that my health concerns are secondary to someone else's learning process.

My friend made an appointment to have an advanced test done for some gastric problems. She made the appointment in SEPTEMBER of 2022. When she showed up for the appointment last Friday, the 24th of March, she provided her info to the receptionist and had a seat. An hour later, she asked the front desk what the issue was. They informed her they never passed her paperwork to the billing manager and her appointment was cancelled. They then informed her that it would be two months till the next available appointment. This place reeks of incompetence.

I had an ERCP and liver biopsy here last month. Dr. Mandaliya was my surgeon, Tim was my nurse anesthetist, April my OR nurse, Olivia and Tiffany were my prep nurses and phlebotomist. Olivia place my IV catheter in my hand and it was the best catheter placement in that area I’ve had out of 3 others prior. I prefer IV caths in my forearm veins, which I’ve had 9 times. She was neat and clean with it also. Olivia and Tiffany got my preop vitals. They were well-trained and well informed, keeping me in the loop about surgery start time. April was comforting and efficient. Tim thoroughly reviewed my anesthesia protocol with me after I requested knowledge of all induction agents and premeds. I have vomited profusely after anesthesia in the past. He gave me IV Zofran in addition to the ODT dose I took that morning already. I still vomited twice upon recovery… Mary Margaret was my recovery nurse, very personable, kind and thorough. Dr. M reviewed his findings with me, stating he dilated my common bile duct during my ERCP (my 4th), but couldn’t reach other strictures in my intrahepatic ducts. He biopsied my liver (my 3rd). I recovered better after my initial reaction to anesthesia. My liver function tests were slightly better 2 and 4 weeks after surgery so my PSC may be responding well. We’re hoping they continue to normalize as I decrease doses of oral prescriptions used to keep my AIH in remission. Thanks to my hepatologist, Dr. Maheshwari for ordering the procedures and following my progress diligently. He is great about checking MyChart messages, doing telemedicine follow ups to review eminent treatment changes, and discussing labs and treatments with me. He is not comfortable prescribing one known treatment for PSC, so I am seeking a hep that is. But, otherwise, my experience with Bunting Endoscopy and Mercy’s Institute for Digestive and Liver Disease have been top notch.

Dr. Desi and all of his staff are extremely nice and go out of their way to make sure you are properly diagnosed. I never felt like medication was pushed down my throat like some other doctors. I am really happy with the care I have and continue to have with Dr. Desi, he is a true professional.

I have seen Dr. Hagan on several occasions for various digestive problems. Her manner and approach to problem solving are always thoughtful and measured. She has never over treated or under treated any condition that I have presented to her. She listens and encourages patient feedback. She has my complete trust for accurately diagnosing and treating digestive disorders. She is an excellent gastroenterologist.

I've had GI problems since I was very young - along every part of my digestive tract. I have a genetic connective tissue disorder with many comorbidities so my condition is very complex and doctors tend to focus on one thing at a time. Dr. Curtin is the first doctor to look at my problems holistically and provide treatments and strategies that are improving my situation dramatically. Dr. Curtin's expertise has been invaluable in improving the quality of my life.

Waited 15 minutes in waiting room and an additional ONE HOUR in the exam room; no apologies or explanations were offered. When a PA who admitted she "can't stop talking" finally arrived, she rattled on for about 20 minutes on topics not related to my visit. Dr. Curtin finally entered and in the 5 minutes he spent with me basically gave me a menu of tests to choose from. The check-out person took 20 agonizing minutes to set up the tests. She was confused, talking to herself, paper-shuffling and at one point started explaining my upcoming biofeedback appointments, which I was not being scheduled for. That was the other patient whose chart Dr. Curtin had named (no HIPPA here?) to be set up for biofeedback when he dropped the file on her desk, all while I was sitting there. Most unprofessional situation I have seen.

I am very pleased with Dr. Mary Harris. She is very knowledgable, caring, and thorough. She is an excellent doctor who has many years of experience in dealing with crohn's disease. I have complete confidence in her diagnoses and care.
