Okay, the place we were looking for was gone but this place was nearby. Sounded interesting so we stumbled in to find a food paradise. I do recommend the small plates because they are all so good. It’s byob, but a liquor store nearby. The ginger lemonade was amazing. Staff is courteous and efficient, prices are reasonable, we got out for less than 40 a person, not including tip.

This place is great! I've been multiple times and it's a consistently amazing meal every time. I've tried many items and have yet to find anything on the menu that isn't tasty. I'd highly recommend Verandah, it's definitely one of the best Indian food restaurants in Baltimore!

My fiance and I dined here on a busy Sunday evening. We sat at one of the outdoor tables. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about The Verandah. Everything was absolutely marvelous. The cuisine was divine, and the family who runs the restaurant and serves the tables is extremely friendly and welcoming. We ordered six different small plates (which they specialize in), and each and every one was unique and delicious. We started with the paneer kofta and the samosa chaat -- both were among the best paneer and samosa dishes I've ever had the pleasure of eating. We then moved on to chilli chicken and amritsari fish fry, which completely blew our expectations for those dishes, and were extremely delicious. We rounded off with vada paav and kheema paav, which were also excellent, though beware that the vada paav is served with roasted serrano peppers which are extremely spicy! Every single dish blew our minds and were among the best indian cuisine we've ever eaten. The family is also extremely friendly and engaged us in memorable dialogue about the various menu items and their pleasure to cook and serve them. I would strongly recommend The Verandah, and we will most certainly be back (frequently). Also, it's BYOB, which is a really great bonus for a small sort of neighborhood restaurant like this.

Has become a new Saturday routine to eat at Varendah now. Big fan of their small plates and ginger mint lemonade. Absolutely tasty and unbelievably fresh. The best 👌Trini doubles and Vada Pav I had in the East coast, and amazing service too. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.but not so great entrées.

Have ordered multiple times from this place. Food is tasty but very less quantity when compared with price. Chicken Kathi roll is delicious but the quantity is too less for 12 bucks! Chicken chilly can be better. Sabudana wada needs to be served with dahi rather than green chutney.

Great place to enjoy a quick bite and a drink outside. Ask for the housemade chilli oil to add some delicious spice to your meal. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own. The wine source is right around the corner so make a quick stop there before. Presentation and food are both great and the service was a nice compliment to them.

They have interesting, small dishes that are best enjoyed as a group: family style! The dishes themselves are modifications of the original dish, and I thought they were okay. I would have preferred them closer to the originals. I wish they had more dessert options. They do have outdoor seating, which is great and the staff is amazing.

This spot is basically like Indian tapas. Presentation was beautiful. But the food really didn’t taste like much. It felt like most of the items were very bland with little to no spice. Our favorite item was the curry tacos.

Finally a place with actual taste of Indian food. The chef is amazing. Quantity per price is good. Only three issues: 1) not enough entrees, the place is mostly for small plates, 2) not enough dessert menu, 3) it could be more spicy but I understand for regular american it might be too much. Regardless of issues, the place is must visit. It is very comfy for a date.

What a cute little spot in the heart of Hampden! We stumbled across this place after googling Indian restaurants in the area and this one stood out. Now I know why! we went by for a Saturday lunch - the restaurant is small and cozy. They were a little short staffed that afternoon but managed to get us seated and served in a timely fashion. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Ambiance - the place is well decorated with cushions, paintings, and brightly coloured walls! Service - fantastic! We got to meet the owner of the place and she was able to make fantastic recommendations for us Food - I loved the tapas concept, which meant we got to try 4 or 5 different dishes. I also loved that she has kept the flavours authentic and not tried to dampen down the intensity of some of the traditional dishes. I felt like I was eating home cooked food! (if you are not a fan of richly flavoured, or spicy food, this may not be the place for you) They have a good selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. I do believe they have some vegan options too. Prices - reasonable It is very rare to find an Indian restaurant that hasn't "Americanized" their dishes - Verandah kitchen is one of them. We will definitely be back.

We’ve just discovered the Verandah Kitchen and we’re SO happy! The food is spectacular. We’ve only had some of the small plates so far but each is uniquely wonderful. The vegan chocolate mousse dessert was also fantastic. We can’t praise it all enough. The decor is beautiful, the music is thoughtfully selected and stellar. We’ll be back soon and many times!

Stopped by for a quick bite and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really well flavored and rich. I would def return to try more. I loved the vegan selection.

Came here with a friend a few couple weeks ago. My friend was intrigued by one of the drinks on the menu. The server explained that it could be sweetened or unsweetened. My friend didn't realize that it was a salty drink, so we called the server and they said that they could add some sweetener. Upon the addition of the sweetener my friend still didn't care for the drink. The server then offered her a different drink which we both thought was nice. Usually when another drink is offered as a replacement, the drink being replaced is free. It was framed by the server that it would be a free replacement as well. HOWEVER, when we got the check we saw that we were charged for both of the drinks--the salty and the new one. We asked the server if there was a mistake and the server just said, "Oh I'm sorry I can't take it off your bill because my manager will be mad. We can't give out free drinks...sorry if you thought it was free." We had no choice but to pay. On top of this, the restaurant has an automatic 20% tip that is applied, and this was for a table of 2. If you are going to automatically charge tip, at least make sure the service is good. I don't know what kind of management is running this place, but they need to do better. I do not recommend this place. The food was alright, on the saltier side. Nothing amazing or worth the 20% added tip. You can find better Indian food around baltimore for less and you won't be left feeling ripped off. I gave 2 stars because up until we received the check, we had a decent time.

I love this place! Each time I’ve come I’ve ordered the Indian small plates and every dish I’ve tasted is creative, delicious, aromatic and bursting with flavor. It makes my mouth very happy. Looking forward to returning the next time.
