We were there for 2 nights during the Xmas weekend. The weather was frigid cold, but lucky that the snow storm didn’t hit that area. The hotel is situated at the heart of Inner Harbor. We were there to visit the National Aquarium which is only a short walk away. The hotel lobby and common areas are really nice. The room is of good size, 2 queen beds and has a nice size table in between the beds. It has a single sofa at the corner with a floor lamp that didn’t work. The TV was tricky and something was wrong with the outlet, took a while to figure out how to turn it on. The bath tub has some old rust stain in the drain. Instead of a floor use mat, we were given a bath towel for the floor. The overall decor is a bit dated but acceptable. Our window is actually a glass sliding door opening to a fake balcony with metal railings. It is interesting, but if you have young kids then need to be careful. Since I’m a Hilton Honors member, I’m given (2) $15 breakfast vouchers each morning. The breakfast costs $16.95 + tax, so need to pay the difference. Parking is $30 per day with in and out privilege. The breakfast ends at 10am on weekdays. The selection is fine, fresh fruit, 2-3 hot food items, cold cuts with cheese, few juice choices, coffee/tea. Also has cereal, yoghurt, instant oatmeal and bake goods. Staff at check in is friendly. Since the room is only prepped for 2 people by default and we have 4, she gave me whole bunch of extra towels and toiletries to take along which is fine. Same happened to other guests checked in after me. Hotel doesn’t have a fitness room. You could use the one in Hilton Garden Inn which is a 10 min walk away. Overall the stay is good. The best part is the location. Inner Harbor is a nice touristy area with shops, restaurants and the aquarium.

We went there for the weekend, my first time in Baltimore and I really enjoyed the hotel. It was clean, very comfortable beds and friendly staff. We arrived late at night and even there they were very welcoming and happy to see us. The hotel has a parking lot next to it, I was a bit concerned at the beginning but it's a safe place and they have cameras in the parking lot. I feel the location is great if you are going to explore the areas surrounding Pier 5. For us it worked great as we felt it was a great location. They have a Ruth Chris restaurant attached to them so that is a plus as the hotel does not have a bar. Our hotel bedroom despite having a very small balcony, but the views were great at day and night time. We will definitely stay here again! I highly recommend it 🔥🔥🔥

After seeing the hotel and room, I was ready to give this place 1 or 2 stars. However, the staff completely save this place. I interacted with 4 different members of staff, and they were all excellent. The two ladies at check-in were super helpful, and the breakfast staff (I believe the chef was Monty) were both great as well. Beyond the staff, this place has a great location if you want to be near Inner Harbour or Pier 6 Pavilion. As for the hotel itself, the rooms are rough. Everything is either dated or broken. With it being part of Hilton Curio, I was hoping for a bit nicer. The whole place is begging for a renovation. Status at check-in: Hilton Diamond. I received 2 bottles of water, complimentary breakfast, 1,000 points, and I think a 1category room upgrade though I'm not positive there.

Location and service is excellent. I cannot express enough how great the staff here are! The rooms themselves are a completely different story. It looks like no money has been reinvested into the hotel in atleast 20 years. Rooms are outdated, pieces of wall are missing, the balcony is a joke. This does not fit the Curio Collection and should be embarrassing for Hilton to have in their portfolio. I only hope this is a recent acquisition and they haven't renovated this yet. Not what I expect from the Hilton brand.

I travel for work and try to stay at the Hilton chain when possible. The chain in general is no longer top rated from my perspective. This hotel is an example. For instance, there are two elevators side by side but only one was available for use. The one available would not go up to the third floor when it was called stranding me there. I found the exit stairs which did not allow reentry. The exit fortunately allowed me to re-enter the hotel without going out. This was good because a few homeless people were camped right in front of the door. When I mentioned this to the staff, they told me the other elevator was a service elevator and could not be used by customers. When asked to switch to the second floor which had an indoor staircase, I was told that the second floor was sold out. One of the other staffers later moved me to a room on the second floor. This comes to the problems. The staff shouldn't lie to customers and the hotel needs to do better maintenance. This is not unique to this hotel. In my travels, I often have to check the room to make sure the plumbing is working and the room is clean with proper bed sheets. If I check in late, I'm given the worst room and told it's the last room because they are sold out. Either they are lying or they have not planned for unplanned maintenance problems. In any case, I recommend to make an effort to check in before 6pm as you might get stuck with the last poorly maintained room in the hotel. Other issues with this hotel are mainly service issues. There is no one to help with bags. While the breakfast was very nice, it is understaffed. If the owners are trying to market this hotel as a luxury hotel, they have a lot of work to do.

Overall not a bad hotel. I wish there was more in the room that cost a fortune. Paid a really good amount of money for the room cause it had a balcony view of the harbor. That was about it. No microwave or fridge which really surprised me for a room that cost as much as it did. But the staff were really nice and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best I ever had at a hotel. The last thing that annoyed me is no where did it say I would have to pay an additional fee just to park. This hotel does not have any free parking. $45 for 2 days of parking that makes you walk a good distance with your belongings.

My husband, child and I checked into this hotel for a 2 night, 3 day stay. When we first checked in the front desk was very kind however, no one advised us on parking and we almost got a ticket. When we first entered our room at 8pm at night the room was extremely hot, and smelled like wet dog and feet. We immediately called the front desk and they would make a 'note in our file.' The next morning we were it was not until we went to the front desk to follow up that we received a room change. Also note that our original room had a lovely view of the pier and water and now we have a view of a moldy HVAC system. When we went to open one of the drawers the handle came off, the bottom bolt lock to our door was broken and the bathtub was draining very slowly. There were also no outlets for labtop or phone charging in our room at the desk area or along the beds so we had to unplug a lamp to charge our phones. We altered the front desk immediately and noted upon check out. The front desk personnel was kind and said she would comp breakfast but we were eager to leave. Would have been helpful to know parking was not included and if that could have been compensated but is what it is. We will not be staying here again.

I’m glad I stayed before reading the reviews because they are misleading. The hotel feels luxurious, except for just a few things. Maybe I had an updated room bc I didn’t feel the tired and outdated aspect that others experienced. My room was very clean and the bathroom was modern, except for the bathtub that had some rust around the drain. I didn’t care for looking at that. There was one hair on the sink but I didn’t trip about it because everything else was pristine. The bed and pillows were great. I was surprised there was no refrigerator, or microwave. I don’t have any real complaints about the hotel except for one: The hospitality and customer service at the front desk was not even close to being up to par for a business of this caliber. I expected to be greeted, at the very least. I was there for 3 days and the ladies at the front desk never spoke as we came and went unless they were spoken to and then it was a lukewarm response. Hampton Inn has more quality hospitality. I was especially put off by the lady at the desk when I arrived. (Friday 8/19/22 @6:30pm). She wasn’t friendly and never greeted me. Just stared until I told her I was there to check in. She left the desk while getting me registered to go have a friendly chat with a co-worker in the back room. Some retraining regarding Hilton expectations should be done. The housekeeper was far friendlier and she didn’t speak English. The breakfast room employees were super friendly but not efficient. No plates for the buffet, we had to ask for napkins, silverware and it was not busy at all. I received a great discount through my job and maybe that’s why I’m not as upset as others. Overall I found the Pier 5 to be very charming. The location and nearby restaurants are a definite plus!

First problem was that we could not check in after being told over the phone that the room would be ready. Second, was told over the phone that we would not be charged for more than 1 day of parking after informing them that we would be parked for a few hours extra because of a football game we are attending. At check in was told this is not true and that we we would have to pay extra. Third, we just saw 2 mice running through the room. Informed staff and was told there were not other rooms with 2 beds available. Staff then came to room and placed several traps but am still very uneasy and unhappy. Won't be staying here again.

Beware. A harbor view room will very likely not have a view of the harbor, but rather a view of a tiny inlet from the harbor. Bring your own water glass, as there are none; but there are paper cups by the broken coffee machine. My room felt a bit...old? and the rooms are not serviced, although you can ask for an extra towel (you get one pair--hand and bath--per person). But you won't have a towel bar on which to hang it. For the huge price I paid, my suggestion is to look elsewhere. I gave one star because there wasn't a choice for zero stars.

I stayed here for three nights for a work trip. I felt safe the whole time. My room was a bit dated but clean and quiet. Comfortable bed. All of the staff members were very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would have changed would be adding a microwave and fridge in my room. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience and I would stay here again and recommend to others. There are also two restaurants attached to the hotel which is convenient.

GREAT Location but not up to the Hilton standard. Positives :: Location is by far the best part of this hotel. It is right on pier 5 and a closer walk to the aquarium then all daily parking. Staff is friendly but extremely overwhelmed. Breakfast is not included but they do offer a small hot or cold option in the lobby ($$). Highlight was chief Monty and his positive energy. Room layout. We staffed in a second floor 2 queen suit with a pull out couch and had plenty of room including a small balcony overlooking the harbor and aquarium. Our room had a small fridge and bar which was nice since we were there for 3 days. Negatives :: Check in was not officially until 4p which for a family traveling in to enjoy the harbor waste most of the first day. I asked for early check in but at 3:30 when we arrived the room was still not ready. Room was cleaned but not well kept. Multiple lights bulbs out, the toilet leaked so it refilled the tank at random times all night, balcony was not cleaned at all, a light was coming out of ceiling and the overall feeling was things were just not taken care of. The main stairs didn’t look they had been vacuumed in weeks and I never saw any staffing cleaning while we were there. Overall I think 3 stars is fair but that being said I am not sure we will stay there again. I feel bad for the staff working there daily as it does look like they are short staffed and underfunded for repairs. I think this location could be a big money maker if the rooms were rehabbed to align with the Hilton standards I have seen in may other locations.

I've stayed here several times and if you are visitng Baltimore, the location doesn't get any better! Front desk staff are always friendly. Rooms are good but it's time for room renovations. Bath linens can also be improved. Beds are cozy and I like the the heated lamp feature in the bathroom. Pro tip: There a few rooms on the third floor facing the aquarium. If you wake up at sunrise the lighting is just right to be able to see into the dolphin pool and view the dolphins playing in the morning!

They have false advertisement. They charged me for breakfast and parking but when I got there said it was free and couldn't reverse the charges. No bathrobe. When breakfast is empty They don't refill, even though I paid extra to receive breakfast. They charged me for parking and said it was free. The rooms are old and gross. The carpets are disgusting. The water view and balcony was a joke, there was a whole building in front of us. It was lackluster at best. The balcony isn't even safe. The floors are sunken in and a child could easily get thier head stuck in between the rails.

because the weather was exceptionally nice, the location and easy walking routes around the inner harbor made Pier 5 Hotel a great choice. We turned off the air and enjoyed open window day and night. The convent flat daily rate parking was a little pricy but inner harbor parking is in short supply hourly garage parking would be more costly Pier 5's flat rate in advance at check in allowed for in and out, plus it gave us the ability to take drive to r excursions to the zoo Fort McHenry and other short drive destinations when desired. Take one of the harbor cruses if you have a chance.

Stayed for a nice mother's day weekend. Loved my Harbor view room and they put the fridge I requested in there for me. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We especially loved Monte the chef for breakfast in the morning. Very hard worker who kept us laughing. He makes a delicious omlette as well. The location of the hotel is amazing and you can walk everywhere can't wait to come back!

Tired 80s decor and outdated systems. Despite the good location, it's not really a place I would stay again. During a 4 day stay, for some reason, they asked me to change rooms on the last night (something to do with the conference rate) and then they charged me for both rooms. How does 1 person stay in 2 rooms? They have refused to reimburse me insisting that they did not overcharge me even though it is clearly on my bill.

This hotel was the perfect place to stay for one night to visit the aquarium. I do not think I would stay any longer, and if it were not for the incredibly kind staff and perfect location, I probably would not stay here at all. The person at the front desk was helpful at check-in, explaining the parking situation and arranging aquarium tickets for the following day. The balcony had a lovely view and was a great place to sit and have a coffee. The provided breakfast was delicious, and the chef has an amazing personality. The room was spacious and clean, but several things were broken throughout the room. The balcony door lock did not work, and only a drop-down bar was keeping it "locked." The bathroom fan would not work unless something was placed in the switch to keep it on, and the tub did not drain well during a shower. This hotel is fine for one night, but with a remodel, it could be amazing! I really hope someone is reading these reviews and making plans to bring this place to its full potential.

Great location, however, it's tired. No shampoo or conditioner which really surprised me given the cost. No creamer for the coffee. Hallways need help. Parking was $29/12 hours, which I thought was for 24 hours, so that bill came to $58. For close to $400 per night I'd never stay here again. The staff was very nice. Looks to me like corporate needs to save every dime they can. Which in the future Hilton is a no go for me.

For the price, a total swing and a miss. Check in is at 4 PM and the desk was staffed with 1 person. 5 people lined up. My room had a view of the harbor but also of a dozen old AC and air handling units on a dirty roof. My room had an iron but no ironing board. I asked for one, never delivered. The morning buffet only had artificial creamer for coffee, no actual cream. The jelly was “mixed fruit natural and artificial flavor”. It tasted like no fruit I’ve ever tasted but more like cheap Chinese candy. The place is a little rundown with stained carpets and needing a coat of paint. The location is great but this place doesn’t meet the expectations for the price. Kind of sad.

I would not recommend staying here. I had my wallet stolen in my hotel room after placing a couple hundreds of dollars in. Let me tell you, my timeline was so small, if was very much stolen in the matter of minutes of checking out of my room, leaving my wallet on the chair (in a rush) and turning around 5 minutes later to go grab it, only for the housekeeping person to be there... Truly the most upsetting thing. Hotel manager couldn't even read their own hotel key swipe system... when I asked for the records. I filed a police report and waited hours for the reports to be filed. Hotel just claimed I should have put it in the safe. They also do not have luxury robes (as specified on their website & a big reason I picked the hotel.... pool is actually off site) further adding to lack of credibility. Personally, I'm really disappointed in the whole matter, this hotel operation makes me sick. Was so excited to visit Baltimore and stay on the Harbor... left upset, disappointed, and VIOLATED.

The hotel needs to be updated. The balcony door was broken. The room is a standard room but outdated and poorly maintained. Way overpriced. There are plenty better places to stay around the harbor. Not worth the view or the price. The view isn’t even that great unless you pay for a suite.

  • 3/5 Melissa H. 1 year ago on Google
The staff was great and friendly. The first room with balcony did not have heat so I was switched rooms and it was a fine warm room. Clean and good size. The only issue I had with the room is the sliding glass doors are old and hard to open to look at the water views. My main complaint is the room was $177.73 and I was finally charged $274.76 because they did not tell us breakfast was not included ($66 for oatmeal, scrambled eggs & toast, my fiancé only had oatmeal), we were also not told there is a $30 charge to park a block away in the rain and walk back "self park" charge. I will not go back.

I have to start this with complimenting the staff. Every single team member I encountered was great. Super friendly and helpful. They all really saved this stay for me. I'm a lifetime diamond hilton customer, and a great staff really means a lot to me. These guys and gals ain't working with much. But they do a great job. Now that's been said. This property has no business in the curio collection of Hilton. Its not well cared for, and the management runs it like a vacation resort. Petty policies, poor products in the rooms, dated poorly cared for rooms. This property is very disappointing. It's in a good location if you want to be downtown by the piers. But if you want a better experience, I'd recommend not selecting this location.

With the title "Curio Collection by Hilton" One would think that this property would display a sense of style, modernization and fast luxury. But instead it was a decaying cadaver of 20th century aesthetics. Very dimly lit and such a depressing environment. Although close to center city, thats really the only good thing going for it. My room in particular had no outlets, the handle to one of the drawers was broken and the carpet looked like it wasn't clean in decades. The sheets was dirty and the "view" was a view of air conditioners that were noisy. I've called Hilton and they said they were going to look into it because this was unacceptable. I stayed at the Canopy property not too far and that was leagues above this. Only stay here if desperate.

Service was good. Monty, who made our breakfasts, is the best. Great host! Hotel is centrally located and walking distance from several Inner Harbor sites. Our room was a good size though a little "tired." I would definitely recommend it if you are looking to enjoy the Harbor.

The first impression of the Pier 5 Hotel is that it's going to be luxurious - there's a Ruth's Chris in the lobby! Below the surface though, the hotel was average. The rooms lacked some niceties I've had in lower-priced places. The hotel was very conveniently located, which was my reason for choosing it, but if/when I come to Baltimore again I'd definitely look elsewhere and comparison shop. Bottom line: It's a nice hotel but I'm not sure it's worth the price.

Arrived an hour and a half early to see about checking in early. Rooms were not ready, so we waited until 4. At 4 we were told they were still not ready. We waited almost 30 more minutes to be told they wouldn't be ready for quite some time. We had a wedding to get ready for, which is why we came early. We ended up having to take a room we did not want. We specifically chose a balcony over looking the water. The room we got was out dated, smelled musty, and looked dirty. The sliding window over looked the hvac system, which was noisy. There was a dead bug hanging from the ceiling. The sliding door was also unlocked and open when we arrived. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable and old. The sheets were almost yellow from age. To top it off, we missed the wedding ceremony due to not being able to check in at least by 4. I did not expect a hotel in such a sorry state for the price point or from a Hilton. Do not recommend.

Do not pay for the parking bundle. They did not put my car into the system and I got a citation and parking ticket. They said they would fix it but I've been fighting for almost 3 weeks now and I can't even get a person on the phone. They sent an email saying they refunded my parking and then closed the customer service ticket That doesn't cover the cost of the citation or ticket! It was absolutely not worth it and I will not be staying here again for this headache. The room was okay. Pretty standard. The location was good and the man cooking breakfast in the morning was wonderful.

When I arrived to check in to the Presidential Suite I was told the room was not ready despite check in time is at 4! This caused me to miss my 5pm meeting with colleagues. When I finally checked into room it was the filthiest room I’ve ever gotten as a frequent Hilton guest! I was disgusted and immediately sought out the manager. I had her come up to the room showed her all the drywall damage, the stained sheets, the filthy shower, the broken vanity light, the leaking faucet and the extremely dirty tub jets!! It was The worst!! I also have pictures! The manager Emile, had a cleaning lady with her who was very rude and had an attitude with my dissatisfaction. The manager sent the cleaner to clean the room again while I went to get coffee. I returned to the room looking the exact same. The sheets had been replaced with a new set of stained sheets!!! I tried to call other Hotels to find a comparable reservations but with it being the a holiday weekend nothing was available. My husband and I decided to go buy our own sheets from Target to put on the bed in order to comfortably sleep in the filthy bed! I asked the manager for a corporate number as she simply offered us a free meal for this unacceptable disgusting service, she gave me a Hilton Honors number who Informed me they couldn’t do anything and that I’d have to talk to the hotel manager. She new that, that’s why she gave it to me! Luckily, My mother works for Hilton so I was able to get the real information. I will be posting my experience and supporting pictures and receipt to your reviews unless I receive the dues compensation or points for this horrible experience!! I will also be reporting this to Hilton Corporate!

Rooms in serious need of an overhaul. basically you are paying for the view. i am 5'7 and i felt tall when sitting on the toilet and in the shower. toilet flooded the entire bathroom, maintenance was gone for the day as was house keeping, had to soak up the water with 20+ towels myself. No weight room, a pelaton bike and and 4 dumbbells. says there is a pool, but they have a deal with a gym that is a 5 minute walk, that has a pool. that does not count as having a pool, should not advertise that you do. Staff was nice and engaging to my family and myself.

Our stay here was pretty awful. First, there was no separation between our balcony and the balcony of the room next door, and the lock on our balcony door was broken. I complained about this and the manager said, "Well, the room next door isn't booked, so you've got nothing to worry about." But then, guests (very noisy guests) arrived in that room at about 1:30am, after we had gone to sleep. The guests were a couple that was fighting so dramatically my fiancé actually thought it was a TV show at first. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, and the mattress seemed to be on a slight incline so that it felt like sleeping on the side of a hill. Lastly, we paid for a balcony with a bay view, which turned out to be a view of the dumpsters behind the National Aquarium across a little strip of water. I mentioned all of this to the morning manager upon checkout, and she went through the motions of telling me she would add 5000 points to my Hilton Honors account to make up for our bad night. But a week later, NO points have shown up—not even the basic points I should have gotten for a night's stay. Needless to say, we are really disappointed, as this is not the quality or the service we expect from the Hilton brand.

My husband’s company booked this hotel for us. The location was pretty good. The breakfast staff and cleaning staff were very friendly. However, the hotel is in need of some major renovations. The bedding was uncomfortable and had many stains. One of the large lights was not functioning. The toilet kept looking like it was going to overflow and it eventually did! I called and they immediately sent people up, but the staff laughed while I was in the room… very unprofessional and uncomfortable for guests. The toilet is still swirling and won’t stop, even later at night. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
