I have contracted Andreas' package with online classes+one week stay at her home as I wanted to do C1 exam. I describe here pros and cons from my perspective. Pros: She has good knowledge of Telc testing and can support adequately. Staying at home is a good experience when looking for exposure to German language and many hours on input per day. The house is nice and large enough to separate everyone out and has nice outside areas to study/eat. They have a small part of forest, which is really nice. to stay at the house for a week before exam is productive as you can run through various test exams. Cons: I was told a lot about Bamberg and how beautiful it is, but what I found out upon arrival is that the house is 1h away from Bamberg in commute time (public transport+walking). So you are fully dependant on Andrea and organized agenda. The village where the house is located is very tiny and has one food shop and I think two bars. The house could do with a deep cleaning and my room had a generous amount of spider nets, my bedsheets were so old it was really very uncomfortable to even touch them. Why I mainly give low rating is due to Andreas behaviour after my exam. I took my exam with the exam school that she strongly promoted - Treffpunkt. I had a terrible experience as there was a lot of noise, they had wrong agenda, etc...(at the end my money for the exam got refunded). Right from the beginning Andrea took zero accountability as if this situation had nothing to do with her, despite she strongly promoted the school, so I found this very inappropriate considering her business model. After a week or so of her not taking any accountability I wrote her that indeed she needs to show some accountability for this and support my refund claim I made to the School. She reacted very angrily and unprofessionally basically saying she is a wonderful teacher and telling me she finds my complaint inappropriate and telling me off as if she was my mother. I found this very personal and unprofessional, despite my complaints were constructive and in no way offensive. I paid quite a lot of money for her services - so I do believe I have a right to my opinion, even if Andrea does not agree.

Fantastic experience! Perfect location, it really felt like staying with family. I'm already thinking about returning for a third time. I've tried many german classes before, and the homestay has by far been the most effective way for me to reach my goals. Andrea also really helped me through my test anxiety.

I have been learning German with Andrea for the past year, and really benefited from her style and the pleasant learning environment. I found Andrea to be very flexible and comfortable when sessions needed to be changed or shifted. All sessions are also fun - so you end up learning German without really thinking about it. I look forward to the coming months to further improve my German and to learn more from Andrea and Carlo. They are a great team, with a great location, and a very pleasant atmoshpere.

A friend recommended me to use Sprachschule and said that she would not have passed her B1 without having worked with Andrea including the intensive stay at her home. I have to second that and say that taking this approach really made me focus on the goal and pass the exam. Andrea really cares that you are prepared for the exam and will give you the honest feedback and kick that you need. It is an added bonus that the school is in a really lovely part of the world so take a walk. Or get a massage at the nice massage centre near by if you are getting stressed with your lessons :-)

I had a great time at Bamberg Sprach Haus! In only 2 weeks my German skills improved considerably. I gain more confidence, more vocabulary and finally I managed to express my self in different situations. The house facilities are fantastic: cosy room, modern shared-bathroom, swimming pool and a beautiful garden. Andrea cooks very well and she is always looking for some exciting activities like: Bamberg sight-seeing, stand up paddling, cycling, Bier Tasting, Spa... The Bamberg German Retreat was definitely a game changer in my German journey! I highly recommend it!

I prepared for my C1 test with Andrea, and she was invaluable in helping me pass it. She motivated me even when I felt discouraged, and I really felt that she was invested in my learning and success. She's very knowledgable and tailor-fit our sessions to my needs, and the homestay program really helped with my confidence and preparedness for the exam.

I learned German with Andrea, having online classes or Skype classes both are very well taught. About language and exam, it’s a good experience to learn with her. And stay in her house with family is amazing. It’s kind of learn and relax so that your exam went very well. With Andrea, my German got improved and reach to next level with each lessons.

I highly recommend SprachHaus in Bamberg. My first 8-months in Germany I worked with a private teacher 1:1. We made progress but not at the rate I was hoping to. I did lots of research and finally decided to spend 2-weeks at SprachHaus Bamberg...WOW! It was like a switch clicked in my mind and they returned me to my family speaking German!! 2-weeks here were equivalent to 08-months of weekly private lessons. Complete immersion is the only way to learn a language and SprachHaus Bamberg does just that. They provide a safe learning environment - where you can make failures and learn - and there is a full team here to support you and they provide a very structured and professional learning environment truly customized to your learning style and needs. Those two weeks were so successful that I now continue to return for intensive weekends (Busy professional with a packed travel schedule!) and I'll soon be taking my B2 test. When I compare my progress with others who've only stuck to private lessons, there is simply no comparison. My only regret is not doing this sooner, and before I came to Germany. 100% recommend.

I had the opportunity to start my German language journey with SprachHaus Bamberg and I could not be more satisfied. Since the first classes with Andrea, I was amazed at how much vocabulary and grammar I learned. Her teaching method was set apart from the lessons I had taken earlier and coupled with blended learning, it also became highly effective. The time I spent in her family home immersed in a German-speaking environment 24/7 significantly increased my conversation and comprehension skills. And it was fun too. We set a goal and nailed a ‘Sehr gut’ in my A2 level exam. I highly recommend Andrea and SprachHaus Bamberg for an enriching quick learning experience of both the German language and culture.

If you need to learn German, at any level, choose SprachHaus Bamberg. Andrea is more like family now. She welcomed me and my dog into her home to prepare me for my German exam (4 days). I had 0 German language skills and I passed my A1 exam with 3 months virtual preparation (1-2 hours a week) while working full time and managing family life. Andrea accommodated my schedule and was my German therapist on more than one occasion. SprachHaus Bamberg is a wonderful place to learn German! I highly recommend choosing Andrea and Carlo!
