Archeological survey of India Museum has the different amazing stone sculpture which are preserved in the museum building. The museum is under construction but you can still visit it. There are documents which indicates the transformation of language from 1st century AD to the current language and script also there are documents which are related to the history of Chalukya and their 3 different division. The sculpture of Goddess of fertility is the main attraction of that museum. This building is located at the entrance of the fort. You have to buy a ticket for the museum in which you can also visit the fort. I couldn't add the photos of inside because photography is strictly prohibited inside the museum.

If you didn't visit here after visiting to Badami then you will miss the most wonderful place. Here you can see all Chalukya's dynasty kings names from Jayasimha to kirtivarma 2. They have collected all the age's Rock. The museum is amazing to see all the beautiful inscriptions. Don't miss this place if your visiting to Badami.

Badami caves are unique in craftsmanship, approximately four caves are there, These are believed to be made during 6 th to 8th century First three caves depicted Vishnu, beautifully crafted on rock mountain of sand stone One feels very relaxed and peaceful in the vicinity of the cave Fourth cave depicted Jainism, In front of the cave a pond of clear water, Monkeys are there, creating nuisance, please don't carry carry bags in hands

Visit during a weekday, there was no big crowd or group. I was mesmerized by the view when I was climbing the stairs, for reference you can check the images that i attached. I enjoyed visiting this place so much, if your taking big car then there is a problem of road which you can travel there.

Museum is maintained by ASI and the entry fee here is 5₹. There are some collectibles on display here whiich we’re found around the area near the caves. Their are many temples around Badami which are more or less in ruined shape. Lots of figures seen at the museum are from those temples which were destroyed over time. Good details have been put up there if you want to understand a little more about Badami and it’s caves and temples. Right from here you can also hike up to the northern side of the Badami fort. There is no entrance fee for that. A visit here would be good. Would take around 30 min to cover it. Their is a small parking lot in case you are taking your own vehicle. You can also hire an auto to reach here.

The museum houses a few sculptures and idols from the temples in Badami. It is a good place to learn about the history of birth Karnataka. Unfortunately, photography is not allowed inside the museum.

There is no proper road to reach this place . The road that connects to the main road is very narrow and not at all maintained and not hygiene. If you are going by car , you will be blocked if there is any other vehicle coming in opposite direction.Mueseum being a tourist attraction place should have proper connectivity and they should plan to either widen the road or lay one way roads each for entry and exit.

We’ll maintained museum and lot of archeological facts stored here along with unearthed monuments. Badami is a place where our ancestors, early humans lived hunting and living in groups. Definitely a wonderful place to visit and don’t miss out the museum while you’re there

Well maintained museum but lacks good connectivity. There is no direct path to walk here from main caves. There is a road but very narrow and confusing. Plus filthy village in between. Even the edges of the lake is dirty and not maintained.

This is a very small museum with about 3/4 small rooms. One of the rooms cover general prehistory, one covers the temples of Badami, Pattadakal and the surrounding areas, and has exhibits of Hindu sculptures. The entry fee is basically pocket change, and to be honest there’s not much to see. Some of the better exhibits have labels with excellent explanations. The museum is located at the foot of Badami Fort in the village on the northern shores of Agasthya Lake. Unless you’re planning on climbing up to the Upper Shivalaya Temple, then I wouldn’t go out of the way to visit the museum.

It was an exhilarating experience to look at our glorious history of thousands of years. I had good time looking at beautiful, unparalleled and unique stone sculptures carved to most beautiful and eye beholding mythological characters to say the least. One cannot resist to not to look at the kind of destruction time and enemies have caused on these timeless treasure that must be preserved for future generations.

Beautiful Museum. Ancient idols and painting with history. Information on different Temple architecture like Nagara style, Dravidian style etc explained in details. It was surely worth visiting once. The upper Shivalay and lower Shivalay Temple hills next to this museum are Amazingly beautiful.

The entry fee is 5₹ per person. When we wanted to pay through QR scan, the ticket counter guy said you will have to add adhar number , pan number etc while paying. So we gave cash and he didnt give the ticket. Said ticket machine has some issue and even inside they asked for ticket and we said they didn’t give any but paid. Then a guy came and asked not to ask for tickets anymore. They are all involved in making money !!

There is nothing to see in the museum as such. All the stone sculptures are just placed inside found from cave temples and other temples in the premises. The museum closes at 5.00 pm. The museum premises is really beautiful though one can go for a hike for about an hr or so.

The archaeological museum houses superb examples of local sculpture, including a tremendous 12th-century makara tokarna(entrance decoration) that has detailed carvings on both sides and a remarkably explicit Lajja-Gauri image of a fertility cult that once flourished in the area. There are many sculptures of Shiva in different forms and there's a diorama of the Shidlaphadi cave. No photography permitted.

Visited the place with high expectations. But was extremey disappointed. A few things of early Badami era have been kept but most of them do not have any descriptions. A very small place with four small galleries. Photography prohibited for apparently of no reasons. ASI should think of this very seriously. Had same experience at the ASI museum at Aihole.

Just to the left of Archeological Museum there is an entrance to the hill. One has to climb up the hill which is exactly opposite to the famous Badami Caves separated by Agasthya Lake. Getting to the top in itself a nice experience. It make us feel, we are in history. Upon getting to the top we find remnants of fort, watch towers, temples. A durgah is also there. It is a different dimension of Badami.

Good museum with lot of information. I wish We could find a guide to explain us everything in detail. They said they have them but on that particular day they were short. But managed to read a lot of information. They have information right from Neolithic age as there is Neolithic site on badami hill which can be accessed by hiking 1 hour from the museum. They also have information about Pattadakal and Aihole sights which comes under Badami group of Temples and caves. You need minimum an hour if you want to explore the museum in detail. Only thing they should more ventilating fans. It's hot in there.
