This tavern was featured on You Gotta Eat Here. The hostess was friendly and offered to seat us quickly. She asked if we could leave our baby stroller outside, but my newborn grandson was sleeping in it so she accommodated us. We did state that if they couldn’t accommodate us we easily could find someplace else to eat and we were okay going somewhere else (it happens and it is not a big deal). We were seated and our server came to our table right away. He was new so he did not know how some of the menu items tasted, but other servers chimed in and provided us with some suggestions. The spinach dip was ooey gooey goodness!! The pizzas were delicious and I loved the Mac and cheese!! The margaritas weren’t the greatest. The three star rating would have been higher if the manager didn’t make it obvious that she disapproved of us having a stroller, yet she was accommodating for another family and their stroller. And what was with the towel wrapped around the pipe?

My husband and I tried the Bear Street Tavern while visiting Banff and we had it for take out. First off the server we dealt with was very nice. The drinks we ordered were amazing, we wish we could get these in Ottawa. The pizza was good as well as the garlic fingers.

Good food, good service and good atmosphere. If you go try to get a seat outside because it's really nice and this place is dog friendly and they even have a dog menu. Your dog also gets a water bowl. The pizzas were very good and a good size too. We got 2 pizzas for 4 people. But I didn't really like the mac n cheese to much. But that might just be me Overall really good place

Was visiting the town with friends and a dog and was encouraged to try this place - was not disappointed! The courtyard in the back is all dog friendly - they bring out a fresh water bowl and refill on request. Plenty of umbrellas and shade - it started to rain and hail and we didn’t get wet or hit by hail at all . The pizza was perfect in crust and the flavours with the home-made honey and hot oil were spectacular. Good portions for the price you pay (for Banff standards). We had the Viva La Pizza, the Godfather, and the Hawaiian - all were excellent. A full drink menu with plenty of local craft beers. Will definitely be visiting this place again!

Hands down the BEST gluten free pizza I've ever had. Highly recommend. Also, not only is the patio dog friendly, but they also have a dog menu! Fantastic staff, great atmosphere, I would definitely go out of my way to go back there next time I'm in Banff.

Pretty fantastic food overall based on what we ordered for the most part. The pizza there is honestly so good because they make their dough a certain way, so I loved the texture and the thickness of it. Probably one of the best pizza’s I’ve had in my life, but again, I’ve never been to Italy. So my bar is not too high. The lamb rib sauce was also absolutely delicious and the texture of the lamb meat was not bad as well. However, I do not recommend the lettuce wrap. The steak meat on our wraps were cold and the texture was off as well. The beers from the tasting order was not bad, wouldn’t hurt to try it if you like beer. Overall a great experience because we were lucky enough to get a good seat during a weekend even when it was pretty packed.

Our server Jessie was awesome. She brought a bowl of water and dog blanket for my little TOTO. The courtyard patio was perfect for cold weather. This is a great pet friendly restaurant in Banff. Highly recommended !! Oh, pizza was delicious too. Don’t forget to put chili oil and honey on your crust. 10/10 here!

We visited Banff for the weekend and upon our arrival at the hotel, the front desk personnel saw us looking at a pizza flyer. She recommended Bear Street Tavern for their $12 special pizza night (Sunday and Tuesday nights from 5pm on). The hostess was very prompt and friendly. We were seated quickly. We ordered the Wheeler Hut and was given honey and chili oil to dip the pizza in. It was delicious! Pizza was served piping hot and the crust was the best I've ever had. Not oily and perfectly crispy. We ended with the sticky toffee pudding. Worth a trip in for sure! We will be back!

Staff were very nice. Setting was comfortable. Cutlery and table were very clean. Had the spin dip and Hawaiian pizza. Definitrly try the hot oil and honey! The chips were super salty but the dip was excellent and the pizza was quite good as well.

I have to say by far some of the best pizza!!! The crust was thin and crispy like a NYC pizza. All ingredients were fresh. We couldn't decide between 3 different pizzas. We tried the godfather and it did not disappoint. The summer salad was delicious. Fresh greens, goat cheese, candied pecans (to die for) and dried blueberries. Too much food for 2 people. We took 1/2 pizza home. Next day was just as good as fresh made.

I ordered a pizza and wings. Both were really good. They served maple syrup with the pizza, It was so great as a dipping sauce of the pizza. The male server from New Zealand was super nice and kind as well.

Very satisfying pizza! We dined here twice. Do get the sweet garlic and chipotle mayo dips. Excellent and friendly service. The wings were very good too (even the salt & pepper ones with the dips). Seating is "cozy" but can accommodate a decent amount of people. Pricing is competitive (say $25 Canadian per pizza). All pizzas are one size. A single pizza + wings is good for 2 people if you're decently hungry. PS: if you're getting the non-alcoholic mojito, go for a virgin mojito from the alcohol section instead. Wait time during busy hours (autumn) can be 10-20 mins.

Was a good lunch spot. We got chicken wings and a veggie pizza. The wings were well cooked but needed a bit more of a punch to them. The pizza was great. The drinks we had were good too Staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was pub like indoors, fairly good.

These folks are really wonderful. Great service, and amazing gluten free pizza. They made a bit of a mistake with my order and once I let them know, they were right on it. Thank you Jack 💕 - appreciate you and you did help make my day better 🥰

Very classic Canadian feel to this restaurant with the sports playing. We enjoyed the 2 vegan pizzas: The wheeler hut The Mediterranean We had to pay for the vegan cheese substitution which is my only criticism it should not be an added charge to accommodate someone's diet. We also added a fake meat substitute which my husband thought made the wheeler hut pizza. The staff where friendly and professional. I enjoyed the alpine spritz!!

Came here due to a tour guide recommendation that their special sauce is nice which is Chilli oil mixed with lemon. This sauce can goes with pizza, nachos or practically anything. We also ordered 2 pizzas including one bison and another is the 3 pigs. Both pizzas were great. The summer salad were just as nice together with the nachos.

We ate at Bear Street Tavern in July 2023. We had spent a long day exploring Banff and had also done a local tour. We were exhausted and hungry when we decided to visit Bear Street Tavern. We did get a reservation, which was a wise decision since the restaurant was packed when we arrived. They had a yummy selection of beer, but the one beer I wanted to try was no longer available (it must have been really good and everyone else got to it first). The food was on-point, and the service was great. No complaints from our group. Thank you for a great meal!

Loved this place. Super cozy, with great food and drinks. We each got one of the salads. They were huge and delicious. Wish we had bigger appetites as all the other food looked amazing.

staff: our waitress was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. service: very friendly, quick and flexible. We were a large group and needed two tables - we sat outside and when it started to rain the waitress was quick to move us to covered tables. establishment: outside seating area spacious. As was the inside. Bathrooms clean. food: great portion sizes; great flavours and toppings for pizza.

The staff was wonderful and food came out fast even though the place was packed. The food was great but the star of the show was this rosemary infused chili oil they make in house. Mix it with honey and dip your crust in it. It’s worth flying to Canada from South Carolina USA just to eat it. Highly recommend this place. Everything we had was great.

Our first meal in Banff didn’t disappoint! We started off with a spinach dip appetizer and the dip was perfect. We also ordered 4 pizzas for the 5 of us which was plenty and enjoyed most of them. I’m a big fan of olives and really liked the wheeler hut. The godfather was also a solid pie especially with the pesto. The big bird also had some pesto but the big chunks of chicken were a bit dry

Our friend took us here on our holiday in Banff, claiming this is the best pizza he ever had. While I'm not sure it is the best, it is certainly great! At $25 a pizza, the price is really reasonable despite being in Banff. The pizzas were so big that most of us couldn't finish them. The idea of dipping my pizza in honey and chilli oil was something I never knew I needed, but now I want to do it again.

Visited on a Sunday evening at 8 pm early June and the place was packed. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Ordered the Caesar salad and margarita pizza - both delicious. First time trying honey and chili oil on top of the pizza. Service was excellent and not rushed. Would return next time I am in Banff.

Pretty sure this is the most delicious pizza I've ever had. I got Viva la Pizza and my partner got The Godfather and we both loved dipping them in honey as the waiter recommended. They also allow dogs on the patio, which is something we don't see often but seems to be more common in Banff. We'll look into visiting this place again next time we pass through.
