Such a cool little restaurant in the heart of banff. Would highly recommend it. It’s Asian fusion flavors . Everything from the hostess to our server Kaz was awesome. We loved the two dishes we ordered. Loved the risotto especially.. It was so flavorful. They have gluten free options and also clearly marked on the menu, which is always so helpful. We did have to wait like 40 minutes for a table as they are a small restaurant. If you can try and make reservations.

Super cool vibe. This small yet mighty place is great for intimate experiences and I guarantee you won’t leave without making a new friend or two. The highlight of this place by far is the drinks, they are sophisticated and a fair price. The food was good but a bit over priced, yet still tasty. Our bartender Reese was friendly and courteous. Highly recommend this place but be ready to spend money.

Had a great time here and loved all the food we ordered! It’s easy to miss this spot if you don’t know about it, and I will be recommending this place to anyone heading to Banff. The highlight for me was Korean BBQ Saikoro Steak; it was soo tender and juicy. My mouth is watering just thinking about it and I’d come back just for that alone! As for drinks, I had a passionfruit mojito - slightly disappointed as it wasn’t minty or limey to me at all and was really just like a passionfruit soda. Tasty, nonetheless! I’d like to try their beet cocktail next time.

I’ve attempted going to this place for dinner about twice and it had about 30-40min waiting list for indoor seating. However for patio seating on a chilly day? We got to sit immediately! If you follow this strategy make sure you wear warm clothes. I’d say after trying the food and service it was well worth it. We ordered the Asian lettuce wraps, one with pulled duck and the other with pork belly. They arrived with a spicy sauce, a peanut sauce, lettuce, kimchi, and the chosen meat. Crafting your lettuce wrap was simple and delicious. We also tried the karaage and it was very crisp, but it def needed some sauce which it thankfully came with. Also don’t be shy to ask for a straw if you order a cocktail! Overall my favorite place to eat in Banff and I’m glad we gave it a try.

Thank you so much for hosting 16 of us, we all had a great time, and the drinks were phenomenon!! We planned our wedding lunch celebration at Block, everyone loved the food and all the cocktails! With the ongoing pandemic, Stephane, the owner, was so easy to communicate with and made the planning extremely easy for us. They also supplied to-go lunch boxes for our remote wedding the next day; they were a hit! Block will forever be in our memory, thanks again to all the staffs who made it wonderful.

Great food, good service. Burgers were awesome. The food was Asian fusion- sprinkled seaweed on fries with spicy mayo- delicious. Good atmosphere. We sat on the patio. How do I close this app? Siri close google.

We love Block! I've been here 3 times now, and the food is always SO good. This time, I loved the Thai mushroom risotto (so different and delicious), lettuce wraps (spicy!), and the Korean fried chicken. We got a cozy table by the window, and it's such a warm ambiance here. There isn't a lot of seating, so it keeps the experience intimate and enjoyable. I'd highly recommend stopping here on your next Banff trip! Plus, they have fun cocktails!

Nice cosy place. Food is very flavorful and well presented. I have had most of the small plates and they are excellent for sharing. The curry ramen was full of flavor and had a hint of heat. The "UnBeetable" cocktail was excellent. The server was polite and answered any questions we had in regards to the dishes. Will be back again

Restaurant is busy, staff are friendly. Food tastes OK overall. - pulled duck poutine: meat is tender and flavorful, though the sauce is a bit too salty. - katsu curry bowl: bread coated deep fried pork cutlet with curry sauce, on top of rice. The rice is a bit soft and sticky.

We thought we filled up on the appetizers (couldn't stop eating them!) but we managed to order some larger plates after that and still finish them! Most of the items on the menu are for sharing and the portion sizes work perfectly for that, but you won't always want to share them (: you won't want to share the drinks either! The house rendition of the Caesar was a delicious complement to the meal itself. The staff was also very friendly and helpful when we had questions or requested recommendations.

Block was on our list to "to try in Banff" from several places, and it didn't disappoint. The staff was super friendly and gave us some insider tips and tricks to seeing Banff and the surrounding area. We started with the lettuce wraps and the sauces that went with them were my favorite part. Our server recommended the Karaage chicken skewers, so we tried those and they may have been the best part of the whole meal. They were so good! For my meal, I got a chicken sandwich (chicken was SO good but there was too much bread) and fries (SO good as well). A little gem of a place. Highly recommend!

I took an Ahi tuna tataki, with their salad and it was awesome. For second time I got the Mediterranean lamb shank w rice and it was another hit. Highly recommend this place. Location is small though, good to up to 4.

Great combinations of flavors and creative takes on their food, we loved everything we got. We ordered from the lunch menu and got the Tokyo fries and the Korean fried chicken which was very tender and had a fantastic sauce. The drinks were beautiful and so good. It is quite fun to see an artistically crafted cocktail, and they do that well.

Love the food! The atmosphere is sooo good sit on the bar. Watch they made the drink. Food was surprisingly good. Wish I can come back. Ordered especially from the blackboard menu, prawn with red curry+ mushroom rositto + Tokyo fries. Tokyo fri is little bit salty through.

The food was hit and miss. I thought the cold ramen salad was really good but then I remembered I was starving so maybe that's why it was so good. The Tokyo fries were my favourite, but it's a typical dish you can get at many places. I didn't like the mushroom risotto because the texture was weird and it was too salty. Everything else was good, but not amazingly good, but not bad. Our server was amazing tho; she was so friendly, happy, and polite

As an industry veteran, I always have a difficult time dining out because I feel like I constantly pick apart the dining experience. Block was absolutely unmatched. Our server was knowledgeable and went above and beyond to tailor cocktails for my friends. The service from the kitchen was impeccable and we loved watching the three kitchen team members absolutely smash service as dinner service picked up. The food was delicious and we tried a few dishes, only criticisms would be that the gyoza seemed to lack any kimchi flavour (i’m guessing that it was mixed into the pork, but could be wrong). We didn’t love the crackers on the tartare but the contrasting texture is definitely needed. I have a massive sweet tooth and was obsessed with the miso maple crème brûlée. The matcha cheesecake was so delicious and interesting to have a more umami flavoured dessert. We’ll be sure to be back next time we’re in Victoria.

It’s nice small place for quick meals. Waiting for 15-20 mins to get the Table inside. Place is nice and cozy with really great service team. Food is mostly Japanese inspired. I went with my friend after a long day hike and we had some good time here. Menu is short and simple not too complicated. Things I like about this place: - nice and cozy atmosphere - really nice and polite servers - quick service - food is nice Things can be better: - need more options of beer on top (they only got 2) - portion sizes are bit smaller for the prise. But overall must try this place if you are into Japanese food and drinks when visit Banff. Thank you 🙏🏽

Had eaten here before years ago and when we walked through Banff on a busy Saturday in August and found this little gem again. We popped in during the late afternoon to see if we could make a reservation however that is not possible. We were told to show up when ready to eat and if there was no table we could wander Banff and they would text us when ready. When we showed up later there was a table ready for us and no wait time. Our experience: Service - 5 out of 5, friendly staff, they came by often and ensured we had water and/or other drinks. We spend quite a bit of time here and they were never rushing us. Watching the person behind the bar make "blocktails" was interesting. Food - 4 out of 5, food was good however a lot of dishes had the same flavour profile which after a while gets boring. The whole idea behind ordering tapas (which this place is) is to have some different type of dishes. Most dishes have a huge Asian influence which is not surprising considering their sister restaurant is Japanese\Sushi. Value - 4 out of 5, prices combined with portion sizes are reasonable for this type of restaurant. But expect to pay a few dollars, dishes start at $9 and most are in the $15 ranges and you'll need a few between two people. We are not big eaters and had at least 5 or 6. Overall rating - 4 out of 5. Will come back again but due to the lack of variety will not become a regular.

I used to be picky about Asian foods, but this restaurant surprised me with their creative Asian dishes. I ordered a chili ramen, and it was quite tasty. The noodles were perfectly soft yet chewy. My friend ordered a bison burger, and he said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. The server was really relaxed and friendly. The whole experience was enjoyable.

The best food we had in Banff. Everything was perfect in the food here. Tasted excellent, quantity adequate, quality superb, and quick service. I had the best burger in recent memory. The staff is a mix of people around the world and the taste reflects that. Glad our accidental choice was perfect at the end. Also the mocktails were nice too.

Our second time at Block and we are still amazed. The service is lovely and so accommodating! The atmosphere is fun and of course, THE FOOD is fantastic. Asian fusion that can not be beat. The cocktail list including ingredients local to the area. All in all a five star experience. No reservations so walk in and hope they have a spot for you. You won’t be disappointed.

Hands down the best food in Banff. Cocktails amazing! The bao was excellent but the biggest surprise of the night was the mushroom risotto. I was blown away with it's taste and the chilli oil added a superb kick to the risotto. It's a small place so getting a table might have some wait time but it's definitely worth it. A restaurant I'll keep going to in Banff

We haven't had food and service this well delivered in a long time. The cocktails we're well thought through, the fusion inspired appetizers brought flavors together in a way that just made sense. I'm glad the prawn curry came with an extra kick of spice to help us bear through the crisp spring weather, late night in Banff. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly and that only added to the experience. The real winner of the night, though, was that house made Kim Chi, a really refreshing burst of pickled flavours. Bottle it up!

Small, hip eatery in the heart of Banff - great cocktails (!) and their share plates are great as well. Actually really liked the sauces that came with the pan-flashed spicy prawns and duck spring rolls. And their daily special was mussels which was also great. Highly recommend!

Tapas style food to share. The food was good with lots of variety for choices. The portions were small, but adequate. Service was good and friendly. Good was served as they were ready.

This restaurant is amazing! The food here never seems to fail us every time we come into town, there is so much flavour to every dish. The cocktails are also delicious and they are also very pretty looking. We highly recommend coming to this restaurant if you're ever in Banff!

Bit pricey but super tasty. Friendly service, although a bit slow. The tuna tataki and duck ssam were definitely the two standouts for us. Passionfruit mojito was great as well as the creme brulee for dessert.

I try to come here every time I stop in Banff. The cheese platter is a must and the service is great. The wait times can end up exceeding an hour so get there early if you’d like a seat. We got a call once to come in however our table was not ready when we arrived. The server had given us a drink on the house and we appreciated their customer service! Walked by recently and noticed they had opened up some patio seating so glad to see them expanding for more customers.
