My friends and I have dined in all of the Indian eatery in the Bow Valley area and we have to say that the food here is really good! Has a homemade feel, and you can taste that the food is made with fresh ingredients. Our favourite is the Beef Pepper Fry, we ordered it as a starter but ordered another by the end as it’s so good. Only small thing is the restaurant is cold whenever someone enters or exit the entrance, hopefully this could be improved! But definitely will be back.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The food was very good it’s been a while since I’ve tasted such good mutton biryani. It’s flavours were definitely unique and tasty. The appetizers were also very good. Would definitely come back here !

Wonderful Indian establishment in the heart of Banff. Saffron serves delicious Indian favorites. We ordered the Dal Tarka, Beef Vindaloo, Saffron Special Lamb, Veggie Biryani, and Garlic Naan. All of it was wonderfully prepared and so delicious. The biryani may have been a bit too flavourful...I typically find the best biryani are not over spiced and are more subtle in saffron infusion. But otherwise, it was all wonderful. The service was very attentive, helpful and kind. The only slight takeaway is the room is a bit odd...its one big square space with tables and chairs around the perimeter. It's fairly clean but the room doesn't lend itself to any sort of ambience. Four stars for this beautiful gem serving Indian cuisine in the mountains.

God damn awesome food! This is another level of comfort food, you know how hard to find a Indian restaurant that makes perfect cooked chicken that not too chewy? Me and friends were so stuffed after a long day, the first meal in Banff town and it erased my exhaustion from the trip! The owner was very nice too.

It’s a great location in downtown, easy access from public transportation/ Mall and pretty close to gondola. Presentation is also great. Exceptionally authentic spices taste and excellent customer service. Reception is very polite and first in first serve table bookings so they don’t have reservations, also offers Thali on weekdays to try various dishes in one plate. Cleanliness is also great.

TEN STARS!! I typically don't like to eat at any restaurants in "downtown" when I travel. This restaurant, however, exceeded my expectation. The service was excellent. I asked for my server's recommendation, and he recommended the best Indian dish I've ever eaten, Saffron special curry. I. Am. In. Love. This green colored curry was flavorful with a little kick(I ordered mild but it still had a good kick). The chicken was tender and juicy. I ate it with a side of rice and I left with a full tummy. My friends had chicken Tikka Masala and buttery chicken, both were delicious. Buttery chicken was very sweet. Chicken Tikka Masala was full of tomato flavor. Just when we thought we had the best meal of our trip.... they gave us some authentic Indian dessert!!! This was not just the best meal of our trip, it was THE BEST MEAL OF ANY TRIP. Pricing was right. Portion was generous. Service was superb. Food was out of the world. Why wouldn't anyone come here?

The best food that we had in banff, had authentic indian taste, the dal was fresh and creamy, nans were full of stuffing and the pindi chana was finger licking. The appetizer (avocado bhelpuri) was a bit bland but overall the food was great. Would highly recommend. They customized drinks according to our choice and the services was also fast.

Recently visited Saffron Indian Bistro with friends and to my surprise they serve the best Indian Cuisine in the town. We ordered 4-5 items and each was equally delicious. The food potion was good and they have enough variety to try on. Staff is courteous and friendly. Lovely atmosphere. You need to tell them upfront if you would like your food to be spicy or average. If you are looking for authentic Indian food , this is it. So be sure to pay a visit to Saffron if you are in town.

Word of mouth brought me here as I wanted to sample various paneer dishes. The paneer tikka was an amazing appetizer, and I was not disappointed. Also had the biryani but sadly it wasn't't anything special. Prices were fair for its location and servers were friendly and prompt. We waited 15 mins prior, and it was definitely worth the wait.

This restaurant offers a family-style dining experience where you can order for the entire table and share all the dishes. The service was excellent, and the food was truly delightful. The restaurant isn't very spacious and got busy quick during dinner hours. We opted for the medium spice level, the spiciness was discernible but not overly intense due to the creaminess of the coconut milk. I highly recommend trying the lamb Rogan Josh, it was truly outstanding.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had outside of London. Meat is tender and curries are ultra flavorful. They were also happy to indulge our request for “extra spicy.” We went back multiple times on our weeklong trip to Banff.

The interior is very minimalistic like many other 'no frils' Indian restaurants. The butter chicken was good but all other dishes more or less disappointed. The lamp filled Nan lagged flavor, the Safran pannier was also very plain. The beef curry was ok but the shrimp vegetables dish was also lagging flavor.

Best place in Banff if you are looking for authentic Indian food in Bdnff. Service from Mani an Surabh were excellent, always smiling great suggestions from them. Dal Nakhon was one of the best I ever had. Palak paneer could be better if it little less savoury. Must order fall Makhni

The menu is slightly different from stereotypes Indian restaurants which is nice we get to try something new other then regular North Indian food. *This place is bit small so expect a waiting for like 20-30 mins. *Service is nice and food is also good. They can do better food wise or may be it was too busy when we visited this place to worry about chip plate and poor presentation. I would visit again on slow day and edit my review for sure. I have tried their lamb shank Raan, and one veg gravy with one naan. I like the lamb shank plate the portion was really nice. Thank you. 🙏🏽😊

Best food you could ever taste in Canada! Their aloo tikki is one of the best thing I’ve had in years! I also tried their chicken tikka and vegetable biryani which were so good! Ended the lunch with hot Gulab jamun which is to die! Highly recommend the food and the amazing staff makes it such a lovely experience to dine in! Kudos to the owner and complements to the chef and staff!

While I was told "Masala" is the best Indian restaurant in Banff, I was pretty pleased with our dinner at Saffron. The Makhani, Korma and biryani were quite good. Paneer Tikka was a nice appetizer. Lassi was not the best but the Strawberry Shikanjabeen was very good. Service was good and fast. Dishes are/can be shared in the table. For instance, a chicken makhani can be shared between 2 people or 4 people if you order 2 different entrees. We had a wait time of 40 mins for dinner so better to call ahead (and this was in late September).

We went to the restaurant as it had great reviews. Our server was very amicable and sat us right away. I removed one star because the wait time was very long. The vegetable samosas was delicious, our mutton curry was flavoured and tasty, the naan bread yummy. I removed a star for the briyani because the veggies was cut way too big and one of the spice was very overwhelming. I would recommend this restaurant, they just have to reduce the waiting time to get our food.

Was at the restaurant at lunchtime during the Christmas period. They had a great 4 course Christmas menu available that was good value for money and had both meat and veggie options to choose from. The staff were awesome and even offered to substitute items from the special menu with items from the regular menu if needed. They were attentive, polite, and helpful. I would go back here the next time I'm in Banff.
