Let me tell you why this little place is the perfect home base for a trip to Bar Harbor / Acadia. 1. Location. It’s both easy to get to and easy to to anywhere else you might want to be. A short walk to the main streets of downtown Bar Harbor. Just a block away from one of the bike rental shops. And around the corner from the amazing breakfast at 2 Cats. 2. Cleanliness. When we opened the door to our room, it smelled fresh and clean. It was spotless. There was even a sign on the mini fridge that explained the fridge is sanitized between guests. 3. Thoughtfulness. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk greeted us and talked with us about our trip. Not only was she instantly invested in us having a great time, it also felt like she and the owners had thought of EVERYTHING. The little lobby office had a coffee station, a water bottle filler, a computer and printer to print your your park passes, even a little cart of extra toiletries they put out for after-hours needs. We felt so welcome and taken care of. The room was small, super comfortable and had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a clean and cozy place to stay with incredibly friendly service, look no further.

Nice little place out if the way. Quiet and very clean. The lady that checked us in was very helpful. Went through about what there is to see and do in the area. I hope to stop here again in the future.

Very clean very friendly place, love it! We stay here each time we go to Bar Harbor. It is close to downtown, walking distance, and the rooms are great but a bit small. Hotel staff had great suggestions for places to eat and all turned out to be great. Easy parking right in front, but not too close to room. Nice deck with comfortable chairs to sit on in front of each room.

We stayed at Island Place in Bar Harbor for three nights and I would highly recommend it. It was very reasonably priced and had everything we needed. Since it is such a small motel, with only about 11 rooms, everything was so convenient. We could park right in front of our room so the many trips back to our car were quick and easy. They have a small table and 2 chairs outside every room where we drank wine and reflected on our day each night. We had 24 hour access to the main office which was only a few doors down and it had coffee, a hot water station for tea and hot chocolate, and a water bottle station with ice so we could fill our water bottles as needed. Also, the people were very friendly and helpful. The location was an easy walk to downtown and there was a grocery store about two blocks away as well. The room is nothing fancy, but had everything we needed and was very clean. The flowers and landscaping around the hotel was well done. Compared to the cost of other places close to downtown Bar Harbor, Island Place is a great deal and we would definitely stay there again.

Staff went above and beyond to make the stay welcoming. The staff is very knowledgeable and gave several great recommendations. They went out of their way to explain various excursion opportunities to us. The best place to stay in baa haaba!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. The rooms are modest but immaculately clean, and the furniture and room details are cozy and of good quality. The owner and her staff have clearly put a lot of thought into what would make their guest's lives easier - from a water bottle filling station and coffee/hot chocolate bar in the front office to a printer that can be used for printing Acadia park passes. Island Place was everything I want in a hotel. 10/10 can't wait to stay again!

If you're looking for an affordable option to stay at Bar Harbor, with cozy rooms and warm, friendly staff, this is your place. The rooms are small, but extremely well maintained and thoroughly cleaned. It's very evident from the moment you walk in that the owner and staff have every provision in place to make your stay comfortable. The location is an added bonus. Conveniently located close to major restaurants, and the harbor park is less than 10 min walk. Highly recommended!

Island Place went above and beyond all of our expectations. The location couldn't have been better for walking downtown and getting to Acadia. The desk staff was incredibly helpful in directing us to activities and dinning in the area. The room was probably the cleanest hotel room I've been in. Overall, an excellent spot and we would definitely book there again!

Great location to walk to downtown! It’s a great base for hiking Acadia then coming into town to get dinner. Our room was super cute and the front desk staff were awesome. Run by all women, they were super helpful with recommendations, especially for me, as I have celiac and so does one of the women who works the desk. Room was very clean, great size and perfect for two hikers who needed a comfortable bed to recover from a long day.

Great place to call home while visiting Bar Harbor/Acadia. Ten minute walk to town and ten minute drive to the park. We had a corner room that was quite large with two big windows providing plenty of fresh air and light. The rooms are well appointed and the bed is comfortable. The star of stay is the staff - friendly, personable, knowledgeable and very, very helpful. You feel as if you are part of the place while here. I highly recommend it.

Believe all the 5 star reviews. Fab spotless room with a bed so big you need never touch your partner ever again. Walking distance to the town so no need to worry about where to park as your car is at the hotel. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Gorgeous flowerbeds out the front. Hot drinks freely available in the reception area including hot chocolate so husband was very happy. Book it now!

This place definitely made our Acadia trip perfect. Room was clean and quiet. Staff was super friendly and helpful! Gave us a lot of tips for visiting. I love the porch and the cute garden. Decent size room and had everything we need. Location is 10/10, only about 5 mins walk to shopping area and popular restaurants in town.

Very clean, the staff is so informative and helpful. Very close to Acadia National Lark, a short walk to the village and Island Place has a great place to park at all times. Highly recommend staying here!

Island Place is a great place to stay. This was my first stay with them and had a excellent experience with the owner and staff members. They are knowledgeable about activities you might be interested in. Room was great and nicely located so you can walk to town without having to find a parking spot, cause you already have one at Island Place. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a place to stay when you are in town.

Probably got lucky to find one remaining room here. The trip was around the long weekend of memorial day. For the location, service and price this is a great place. Loved the staff, super friendly and helpful. Room felt a little smaller but still decent size to have everything one needs including the mini refrigerator, asthetically arranged and clean. Had one queen bed and it was comfortable. Cleanliness was great. All essential toiletries were provided. Coffee, tea and water station was in the check in office area. Coffee was great too with creamer/ half& half provided. Particularly, loved the staff. This place is roughly 0.5 miles to downtown bar harbor. Roughly two blocks away was grocery store (Hannaford) which was very convenient. Also super close to one of the Acadia park entrance. Also, had the free parking which is always a plus. Highly recommend this place.

Such a cute little hotel in a fantastic location! So nice that they had parking on premises for us. The ladies at the front were so warm and welcoming and had great recommendations. I loved being able to walk anywhere in town right from our room! Thanks for a great first stay in Maine, we will be back!
