Ok for the price and has a secure parking area in the back. Bad thing is location, not within walking distance of restaurants and for the two days we were there the onsite restaurant was not open. No in room fridges.

Food is very limited and very bland when it is available. There’s a sign on the back of the door talking about ear plugs. They don’t tell you about them at the front desk but you will need them to sleep. Both of our nights here we were woken up to a group of people outside on the street gathered just to listen to their music as loud as possible for at least 40 minutes. The most insane thing I’ve ever witnessed. Stay somewhere else if you want to sleep

Fantastic service, great food and very affordable. Im very glad my family and i stayed at this hotel. I truly recommend it!!

This hotel is good for stay for travel job

1st of all it's not a 5 star resort but it does get 5 stars for what it is. Very Clean Hotel with running hot water , also breakfast and dinner is included in the price. Across the street from the beach and a casino on the malecón. Strongly recommend

The staff is not welcoming. They advertised dinner and breakfast and after you reserved they tell you that certain day they don't. No hot water, leak in the bathroom, the bathroom door doesn't lock.....

Hotel is good for what you pay... The Staff is awesome and deserves 5 stars, the rooms need to be updated and be AWARE of the noise, is in one of the main streets so is very noisy if you are not used to that. Food is good, but they need to have more variety since you get tired of the same by the 3rd day, koodos to Frank (the server) he was very nice and very accommodating of my 5 years old daughter needs, there is always room for improvements.

3 star hotel that offers food with your stay but the restaurant had nothing on the menu rooms are out dated staff is nice but wouldn’t stay again especially if paying for breakfast and dinner and it’s not available

We were visiting family who live in Barahona and therefore still feel that the choice for Hotel Caribe was the best choice given its location on the Malecon. The staff is overall very helpful and attentive. The ones who stood out were Joel from the restaurant who was always courteous and going above and beyond. Also the older lady who works at Front Desk and I believe her sister. Also the 2 maids that we recall that cleaned our room during this past week. Didn't get their names. The reason for not giving an overall excellent score is because the wifi was somewhat lacking and the rooms are dated, but the latter is not unusual for small hotels in the Dominican Republic. Due to the fact we booked via Airbnb we had direct contact with the Owner/Manager who immediately took action to remedy our issue. Next time we are in Barahona, the only place we would stay if not with family, is Hotel Caribe.

Avoid staying over the weekend if you can't take loud music as it is in the heart of the malecon

Beautiful room. Family room was 2000 pesos more but was much larger and had a balcony with a view towards the sea. No hot water.

Decent food. Rooms are dated. Rooms could be cleaner. AC in several units did not work well.

Great place to get rest and continue the trip, good food, good rooms. Everything it's great in this hotel.

Cheap! Decent hotel. Kind and generous staff. Breakfast and dinner is okay, not too grand. A cute little pool, small 10 inch TV, AC's. Beds could be more comfortable. Very pretty patio to sit and eat at. Comfortable place to stay.
