The place seemed clean... but we couldn’t stop sneezing and itching, specially when we turned the air conditioner on. The room was really loud, we could hear everything happening in the hallways and it was also very small with everything old. The lady in the reception was nice at first but she wasn’t very happy when I tried to tell her about the dusty room. I don’t think that the price was worth for what we got... but everyone here seems so happy and I’m not sure why. I would try to avoid this place. They have another hotel that seemed better but I can’t confirm it...

Terrible service. We came back late so we woke up around 11.30am, the staff lady was screaming at the top of her voice when we just asked her if it’s possible to extend the stay. There was no water in the tap which was repeatedly mentioned and nobody came to fix it check it. Location is great and that’s about it. Horrible experience on all other grounds. Have been traveling around years more than 50 countries so far, this could definitely be a place which I’d never want to remember

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Even though the rooms are clean my room faced the inner courtyard with no sound insulation whatsoever so every single person coming in could be heard. From their voice to the sound of their keys to the elevator door and front door opening and closing. I slept nothing. Worst of all the management refused to refund me for my stay or allow me to cancel and be reimbursed even after telling them I had a condition that required me a decent night’s sleep. I’d give this place zero stars if I could. Impossible to sleep and zero service. Stay far away. The room had an AC that made flapping noises all of a sudden but the issue is the incessant noise constantly.

Very nice staff. Clean place. We needed an affordable place to stay for short time waiting for our flight back to U.S. All other affordable hotels were booked. Started looking at hostels as an alternative. Hostel Felipe I was fully booked too. Luckily they found us a room at Felipe II. Our only complaint is the building needs better lighting for patrons arriving at night and maybe something can be done to soften the sound of doors slamming shut.

We stayed in this hotel in the triple room with my two teen boys. The room was excellent. The beds were comfortable, the room was big and very clean. The view from the balcony was amazing. The receptionists were incredibly helpful and polite - can't thank them enough they were so wonderful! They even allowed us to leave our luggage with them after we had checked out. Metro station opposite the hotel with links to all the city. Great stay for the price, highly recommend for all ages. Sara Tecle

We took a room with own bathroom and 3 beds. Everything was clean, every day we received new towels, staff was friendly. When you arrive later in the evening, you need to check-in in a different building which is about 3 min by walk away. It’s nothing special, but it has great location. Maybe be ready to for loud noises from the street, as there is an restaurant just under the room.

The hotel is ok, but this is a warning to everyone who comes to it because next to it, there is a Trabanqueta bar pub where we were robbed. The manager of that pub covers thieves, so be very careful and keep your backpacks.

We had a 4 night stay at Hostal felipe 2. The rooms were really small, they don’t look as big as projected in the photographs. The rooms even though small were clean, the shared bathrooms were also cleaned on regular basis by the Staff. The cleaning lady was very polite and helpful. The reception staff was very helpful and always guided and helped us. One other issue was on one of the day there was a scheduled electric work and the hostel had not informed people or made any provisions, it was difficult 3-4 hours without any power – very small window and no power back up. Would not be recommended for the high price they charge

Staff really not friendly or helpful. Try and force you to pay cash when reservation clearly says card, you have to argue with them... Shower didnt drain and thing to hold up shower nossle broken. Aircon works :).

Really cute an comfy! great for just a place to stay. lf you’re on a budget definitely save this for your next trip to Barcelona, its five minutes away from everything and if you’re lucky enough you can get a room with a view of the tip of Sagrada Familia! and really friendly staff which is always a plus.

The room is not clean at all - it smelled weird and I found a half eaten bag of chips and red bull under the bed - the sheets and pillows smell are smelly like someone had slept in them

Nice hostel on the third and fourth floor of an fancy old Barcelona house. The rooms are not very big, simple standard but pleasant and clean. The staff are friendly hosts. The historic looking but well working lift is a little sensation. I enjoyed my stay
