This
is
a
sort
of
tucked
away
live
music
venue
within
the
myriad
labyrinth
like
footprint
of
Poble
Espanol,
and
while
I've
only
been
once,
I'll
totally
be
back.
Context:
I
saw
the
SchizoPhonics
w
Ghost
Woman
opening
I
purchased
my
ticket
at
"the
door"
which
is
to
say
the
main
entrance
to
Poble
Espanol,
but
not
at
the
ticket
booth.
In
fact,
there's
no
signage,
at
least
none
I
could
detect
to
indicate
this
is
where
I
was
supposed
to
be.
But
the
ticket
salesperson
(for
P
E)
nicely
told
me
to
stand
aside
and
queue
with
the
others
awaiting
entry
to
Sala
Upload.
Moments
later
two
dudes
roll
in
scanning
those
that
had
previously
purchased,
checking
bags,
and
stamping
hands.
Bagless,
I
pay,
get
stamped,
and
follow
the
others
to
this
fairly
well
signed
corner
of
the
labyrinth,
but
again,
there's
no
way
you'll
catch
a
glimpse
of
this
signage
unless
you
pass
the
gates,
which
you
don't,
not
until
it's
time.
I
flash
my
stamp
and
belly
up
to
the
front
bar
for
my
first
of
3,5
euro
bottled
beer,
I
guess
it
was
Estrella?
But
who
cares,
right?
The
beer
didn't
bring
me
here,
the
music
did.
There's
also
a
back
bar
and
I
guess
a
bar
kitchen
of
sorts
though
I
didn't
partake
in
either.
The
patrons
file
in,
and
the
two
sets
roll,
no
hiccups,
all
killer
no
filler.
Having
lived
most
of
my
life
in
New
Orleans,
Sala
Upload
100%
reminded
me
of
the
sadly
now
Covid
shuttered
One-Eyed
Jacks.
Small,
dark,
intimate,
and
dank
enough
to
lend
authenticity
without
being
too
careworn
to
slip
into
the
oozy
corners
of
dive-y.
And
to
be
frank,
this
is
the
scene
Barcelona
flexes
least,
for
whatever
that's
worth.
Anyway,
cheers
Sala
Upload
and
thank
you
