Italian cuisine is amazing, and of course La Cantina dello Zio is not an exception. The food is delicious, I have no words to describe it. An amazing experience from all points of view. We had octopus - very fresh and tasty, also pastas and deserts. Don’t forget the house wine. Very good. Everything was beyond expectations. On the other hand, in the evening is very crowded so you might have to wait a bit for a table. Also for the food.

A lovely street in the old town, beautiful music to set the mood (Karen Souza), welcoming staff, and delicious local dishes at fair prices. I was traveling alone through Italy and asked for a table for one. They only had 4-person tables outside on the terrace but they went inside and brought a smaller table outside and set it up for me so I could enjoy the ambience of the street. Very kind of them. I couldn't have been happier for my last night in Bari.

We had a great diner here. Would really recommend the mushroom soup and “riso, patate e cozze”. Wonderful tiramisu. Very good service, very good value for money. We also appreciated that they do not have an afternoon kitchen break, we could have dinner at 5:30 which is usually not possible in Puglia.

We were in Bari on a trip for 3 nights, of which we were in this restaurant 3 times. The food was always very tasty. I am attaching pictures. Be sure to try the local orecchiete, grilled seafood and excellent homemade wine. At the beginning, it may seem like they have a little chaos, but they know exactly what they are doing :) we waited longer one evening, so we recommend going in the early evening hours. we thank you

We wanted some pasta tonight and we chose La Cantina dello Zio, it did not disappoint! We went with the seafood spaghetti and orecchiette con Bolognese. Both were fantastic, but the seafood stood out! Perfectly seasoned with strong garlic flavors! Pictured we also have the bruschetta! Everything was delicious! 5 stars! Highly recommended! A++++

We came for early dinner because nothing else was open. The food was very good and affordable for being located in Old Town Bari. The service was a bit slow because there was only 1 server on staff and she did the best she could. All in all a good experience and we would definitely come back.

Our absolute favorite place in Bari. It's one of the more affordable places, the food is to die for, and the staff couldn't be more friendly and ready to help with anything. We went 4 times and each time was perfect. You could say the waiter Maurizio is a local celebrity since so many reviews mention his name (he bragged about it to us), and for a good reason. He speaks great English, cracks jokes, and overall made the experience much better than it already was. That aside, we were delighted by the whole staff :) If you visit Bari, I wholeheartedly recommend this place! You might have to wait if you come during busy hours, but trust me, it's worth it! I especially recommend the pizzas, an absolute must.

Perfect, perfect, perfect! This is our favorite restaurant in Bari. I really love this place! We were in the town for 3 days and we choose to eat there 2 times. The staff is absolutely nice. They make you feel at home. All the dishes are so delicious - I ate 2 servings of tiramisu at once. And the music there! I'm sure I can't explain, but yes - you MUST go there!

The staff in this restaurant is amazing, kind and experienced. The food is just as fantastic, we had our best meals here while we were on vacation. We were even given a welcome drink too. I strongly recommend this place to everyone who’s looking for a fine lunch or dinner.

Really good food and fair price. Nice option to try the orecchiette. The tiramisu was amazing. The service was superb.

The food was good especially the tiramisu cake - the best which I have ever eaten. The prices are fair. We got a complimentary crackers and shots of limoncello. They don’t make a reservation so have in mind that at dinner time the restaurant is very busy. We had to wait for a table around 20minutes, the service was a little bit slow but the staff was very friendly.

Amazing restaurant Bari's old town! Their lasagna and pasta are very delicious and would definitely recommend trying them out. It isn't very cheap but it isn't expensive. They also serve free olives and bread crackers. However, keep in mind that La Cantina dello Zio is always full and you will have to wait between 10 and 30 minutes in order to get a table. Then, you will have to wait around 40 minutes for your order. Furthermore, there isn't always any space between the tables which could be quite uncomfortable. Overall, the food is great but the restaurant itself is not...

Great buzz. We ate inside cuz it was a bit chilly outside. There isn’t much room inside but somehow everything fits. The mushroom soup was so good, if we hadn’t order other things 2 bowls would have been a good choice. Seafood orrechetti was delicious, so was the seafood spaghetti. We also ordered a grilled spiral sausage, which might have been good were we not so full. It was a bit salty. The staff were perfect working as a team that knew what it was doing .

We just eat here and it was amazing. Prices are very good as well. All what we ordered was very fresh. Some time when you order dishes with tomato sauce they can taste like a tomato which you can buy at a supermarket. We ordered one dish with tomato sauce and it was very fresh. The house red wine very tasty. Lastly the service was very good. I definitely can recommend this place in all forms.

Very good restaurant with delicious food and very good service. We had dinner there and we came early to be able to have a table at time. So come early enough in order not to wait long for a table. But at the end you will get one and it is worth it. It is not expensive and the food is really good. The service is also very good. They bring you at the beginning olives and at the end some shots on the house. The personal are very friendly. I recommend this restaurant.

A very nice place, always crowded, I was lucky to catch a free table. The food is very good at decent prices. Wait time was around 15-20 minutes, depending on what you ordered. If you're really hungry, I recommend ordering something like bruschetta first.

The food is fine here, but we had to wait one hour and twenty minutes before our starters arrived. An exceptional occurrence in Puglia, where you usually get your food rather quickly. We had to ask the waiters ourselves when our food would be coming, the staff didn't even bother to give an explanation or some kind of compensation. The bruschetta, octopus and salad were good, but when we paid cash, it again took a very long time before we got back our change. The service here is really not up to par.

Very special place with authentic cuisine and ambiance. We were so intrigued and forgot to picture all we ate. Excellent lasagna, mushroom soup and risotto with seafood. And, yes! Homemade limoncello

We visited the restaurant twice during our short stay in Bari. The atmosphere is typical Italian, the service - fast and polite and the food was amazing. We were also served free of charge bruschetta, olives and taralli before our order was ready. It is good to know there are vegan options. I definitely recommend the place!

This place is amazing! The food is great, not small portions, not too big, as tasty as it can be! The staff are all lovely, make you feel at home! Don't miss it! Went there 2 times for my short trip. If I come again to Bari I will definitely go back there. Absolutely recomend!

We visited La Cantina dello Zio twice and the food was always amazing! We ordered in total: orata (from oven and in tomato sauce), parmigiana, pizza Boscaiola and octopus & shrimps salad, tiramisu and the white vino della casa. We met the owner, Zio and he is a super nice person and gave us great recommendations on what to order. The price&quality was GREAT, the staff is lovely (can't recall the manager girl's name:( They have like 20 tables outside and the food leaves the kitchen quickly. 100% recommended and we'll be back in the future!!! La Cantina dello Zio is located in a beautiful location. All customers were greeted with a bowl of olives and salty snacks, which was very nice. We ordered a margherita pizza and lemonade. The food was great, specifically this pizza tasted the best of all the pizzas I've tasted in Puglia. The lemonade was delicious, so we decided to repeat our visit the next night. The service was friendly and we even got more lemonade on the house. Definitely recommend it!

Thank you all the staff for really welcoming and warm atmosphere which we had felt during our delicious dinner with homemade wine and pasta + desserts. Tasty Italian food, home-like attitude and perfect location. And thank you a lot for the compliments like olives, local pastries and limoncello - we left the restaurant fully satisfied and pleased.

Great food & great recommendation from a local, but you will definitely have to wait for lunch to sit outside. Since I was alone, I was able to skip most of the line, and I ordered grilled octopus, a glass of wine, tiramisu, and a cappuccino. It was pretty good, and now I am pretty sleepy. For 25€, you cannot get better. Go here if you want good food.

Very lovely service. The food was really good. I had their local pasta Orechiette and it was delicious. With aperol spritz, profiteroles for dessert and their delicious limomcello. Oh I wish I had more nights in Bari I will be back when visiting again.

Amazing…. I now understand why it was fully packed and a long-long queue of people every night. It’s like spending time with an italian family. The food is something else - you can’t compare it with your usual “italian restaurant food” : very simple ingredients, yet the taste is so complex. The people there are the best - friendly and welcoming. We also received some free limoncello at the end, which was very nice of them. Once you try this place, you’ll understand why so many people go there. Also : try tiramisu! 3 euros it’s basically like it’s free :)))) we ordered one to share and it was perfect

The staff is very friendly and funny. The pasta we ate was delicious and perfect. Will obviously come back!! But also you have to wait during the evening hours to get a table but it’s totally worth it!!

We waited 10 minutes for a table and its a normal thing for a summer season. Once we got our table, we waited apprx. 10 minutes for ordering the food but its also acceptable because there was not enough waitress. We also waited 20-25 minutes for having our food. But the taste was OK , we can say above the average. About the drinks and desert, we ordered one lemon juice but it was not that good. The tiramisu was good. Everything was fine except lemon juice and service time (all staff were smiling).

I would not recommend this place. Apperol is small and watery, probably the worst we've had in 3 days. Pesto gnocchi just not for my taste, I lacked at least some kind of meat - chicken, bacon, or at least something else besides dough. Pasta del mare is quite good, but again - why I have to eat unpeeled shrimp or clean it myself? But I have to say - the waiter boy provided as pleasant service as he could

amazing place with great food and people, service level is top tier, seafood 10/10, got complimentary bruschetta, shots of limoncello and wine, talked with owner and had fun! Homemade wine is so good 🥹🤌🏻 definitely one of the best spots in Bari! Summer tables are vibey filled with great music as well.

I never write reviews but this place deserves one. The food was INSANE, i went with my family (just stumbled upon this place had no big expectations) and we ordered a caprese and anorher salad (the balsamic vinegar tasted soo good on it), and then had pastas, they were amaaaazing. We ate orecchiette con cime di rapa, orecchiette con pomodoro, spaghetti with zucchini and shrimps (this was my fav!!) and spaghetti aglio olio (i think it's called sg like this, it was garlic pasta, YUM). Then we finished our meal with tiramisu and espresso. Never have i ever eaten a tiramisu this good in my life (not to be dramatic lmao). Our waitress was also really kind and spoke great English, she gave us 3 extra limoncellos:) So thank you, La Cantina dello Zio for the best last meal we could've asked for during our stay in Italy. It was an unforgattable experience and i hope i can come back one day.
