First time visiting this park today with my husband, granddaughter and our little dog Eric. What a lovely park, plenty of parking. Wide open space for dogs and children to run. The only down side today was two grown women fighting in the car park and police officers trying to break it up. There are lots of pathways to explore dotted with interesting stone pillars, band stand and other buildings. A lovely children's play area and lots of bins for a change. A bowling green, a football pitch and public toilets. Well worth a visit but try to avoid the car park brawl.

Great outdoor space, incline from the car park to the top but you’re rewarded with fabulous views. First time visit, picturesque in the snow. Plenty of seats, cafe open when allows, basketball court. Parking can be busy, roadside parking available. Well tarmac paths, easily navigated with pushchairs or wheelchairs/mobility scooters.

A lovely park with a cafe, bandstand, MUGA, bowling club and tower dating to the later 19th century. Great for dogs. Cafe serves dog ice cream as well as human ice cream. The staff are friendly and polite! They also host the local park run on a weekend. The last time I visited there was a travelling fair with lots of rides, so also a likely venue for touring events.

A very nice park with some lovely features. There is a good cafe with large kids playground. Lots of green open spaces, great for dogs. Some nice gardens and buildings to make the place more interesting as well. There are tennis courts, gym equipment and basketball nets, all free to use. Good amount of parking

Nice large park in the centre of Barnsley. Well kept with a decent cafe and nice play area. Band stand, folly and a few statues if you like things like that. Wooded and open areas.

Fantastic park for children, adults, dogs and cats! Large open space with lots of greenery, a great playground, tennis and basketball courts. Free parking with a reasonably priced Cafe next to the playground and don't forget the proud statue of the nineteenth century civil engineer Joeseph Locke...

Very pleasant park to stroll around and ideal for exercising the dog. The main reason we chose this park was for the children's outdoor play area. A great collection of swings, climbing frames see-saw and roundabout etc is must for small children. CafΓ© is dog friendly, and staff very helpful and attentive. Recommended.

Locke Park is so lovely to walk around. Its vast, so everyone can spread out. Lots of pathways so very accessible for all. Some lovely spots to stop for a rest, the memorial benches dotted around are nice. Very well looked after, rarely see rubbish whilst walking. The kids play area ia top notch, but does get busy. Cafe is lovely. I do love a hot chocolate in the winter from there. Lots of events, park run, dog walk clubs, fairs etc. Lovely all round.

We enjoyed Locke Park, helped by the glorious weather. Lots of wide open space, however, we concentrated ourselves around the children okay area, once found. Kids had a great time, coffee shop served plenty of snack options including ice-creams and milkshakes. Worth an hour if your time for the kids to burn off some energy!!!

Authorities can't deal with Anti social behaviour. This park is the most important thing in Barnsley. Shame because we all pay for this improvements that don't last in this town.

Park itself is very nice also the cafΓ©, however I wish there would be more options on the playground for the little ones. It is good for older kids, but not really for babies, only one swing for babies and nothing more really.

Beautiful well kept park. From tranquil to the kids park. Plenty of seating bang next to the park, which offers something for all ages, which is rare. Even a swing for those with mobility issues. Well thought out with a cafe and toilets at the side. Brilliant place πŸ‘

Locke park is always a favourite place to go the cafe was open and the tea and icecream we had were lovely the play area was very busy the kids still enjoyed it. We had a nice walk round before finding a space to sit and read for the older ones while the little ones had a good run around to burn of energy finding the paintings was lovely too and the fairy garden
