I have been going to the dada boudi restaurants (both the first AC restaurant and the rooftop one that was opened later) for a few years now and their food has never disappointed me. Not being a biryani fan, I mostly stick to other mughlai/tandoori/North Indian dishes and everything that I have tried so far has been up to the mark. Their Chicken Malai Kebab is one of my favourites and the only negative point is sometimes it'll turn out to be a tad bit overcooked. But I understand that errors occur and the overall experience always overshadows these minor flaws. The naan that they serve also deserve a special mention since it's truly one of the best naans that I have ever had. Soft and pillowy. In addition, their chinese starters are amazing, especially their Salt and Pepper Fish is top notch. Coming to the biryani, it is on the richer and greasier side, the mutton and the aloo that they serve are always tender and cooked perfectly, and the portion is pretty generous. Apart from the food, the staff is courteous and the service is fast to moderate depending on what you order. The only issue I have ever faced at these restaurants is getting a table and beating the crowd. Overall, their food quality has remained consistent over the years and I recommend it to anyone who is deciding to come visit! I only urge people to try things other than the biryani since most of Dadaboudi's dishes are really delicious. :)

Very good restaurant. Food quality is good. Special feature is the quantity! You'll find the quantity of 1½ plate biryani (according to the Kolkata restaurant standards) at the cost of 1 plate. Price of the food items are quite reasonable as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant. P.S. - you should take ample amount of time in your hands, as you have to wait for long time in que at the restaurant premises, about 1 hour on an average on weekends and holidays.

Quality place for dine in. One can easily opt out for any food itmes. But definitely the restaurant known for their famous Biriyani of any kind. The new dining building is more eye catching than the previous one. The ambiance and decor is simply wow. 😍

I visited this place for the first time. I had tried all the other famous biriyanis before but it was my desire to have Dada Boudi's Biriyani(As I had heard a lot about them). Honestly Best Biriyani with juicy, tender and sumptuous meat also full of spices. This Biriyani is quite different from other most other biriyani houses. The quantity was more than enough and the food quality was perfect. We ordered, 1. Special Mutton Biriyani( Two mutton pieces, two Aloo) - Well their Mutton biriyani is the obvious choice. Quite different from any other place. According to me it was really good in taste and not so spicy. 2. Chicken Reshmi Butter Masala - Best one. Taste was excellent. Honestly I tried this with biriyani and it tasted superb ( but they told me that it won't taste good with biriyani) Overall I was extremely satisfied with my first experience. Though the crowd was huge and we waited for few minutes for table. Otherwise I would say it's a best place for Biriyani.

It is situated near Barrackpore Railway Station besides SN Banerjee Road (Few steps away from the parcel counter). Dining area is huge with balanced ambience. Open air dining is also available at the terrace. You can expect good behaviour from the staff. Now coming to the most important part, that is the food. Boy oh boy, I must admit, the food is just awesome. But as a consumers perspective I should say, it is a bit pricier compared to other restaurants. And sometimes quantity of the food we get lesser especially biryani...

One of the most famous biriyani house in West Bengal. This restaurant is always busy and crowded just because it tastes best specially known for the biriyani varieties. Almost everyday most of the people are big in line to enter this restaurant. You should have gone in there at least once with your family or loved one.

I tried their special mutton biriyani it’s better than other biriyani outlets in West Bengal but mutton needs to be more soft but the quantity and quality is good enough and raita was thick in consistency but too sweet for me and the fish fry was too good authentic bhetki fish was served and we ordered mutton keema which was tasty but a bit salty and the best part was the Nolen Gur ice-cream which stands out from other brands of the same I had…overall it’s a great experience would love to try more dishes in future Pocket pinch- 1500 for 2

A must have place for biryani lover! It's a landmark now. There are two branches, both are 2 minutes walking distance from Barrackpore railway station. We've ordered special mutton biryani and horiyali kabab. Biryani was awesome. It's bit crowded on holiday. We had to wait 1.5 hours to get on the table! So, don't forget to keep some time during holiday.

Biriyani is the most attraction over here. We ordered a plate of fish fry (2pcs) and a chiken biriyani;it comes with salad also. Taste of fish fry and biriyani was soo good. Both was mouthwatering. Again here ,U have to choose sharing table option because at weekend there's a huge crowd. Otherwise perfect. Very fast service. Staff behaviour was ok.

I know almost all lovers of biriyani would disagree with me. But this is my personal opinion, and I’ve come to this decision based on certain parameters. We ordered one special mutton biriyani & one chicken butter masala. This was the second or third time I visited this place. First I’ll covering the cons then pros of this place, as this being quite famous most of us know about their taste and all. 1. We eat our food in moderate quantity. And the biriyani was really quite less in quantity for the two of us, had to order another one or two kulchas. 2. Considering the price of the biriyani, it’s way more than most of its famous competitors. The special biriyani with two mutton pieces (with bone) and one potato (imagine having biriyani with no eggs 😞) seemed quite pricey coming with a price tag of Rs 560 plus taxes. 3. The chicken butter masala, phew 😮‍💨 had to fight quite a bit with fork and spoon to take one small bite, it was so hard. Asked the waiter why the pieces were quite stiff, he started making me feel it was the first time I was having this dish; so I stopped. 4. Another very annoying thing was that waiters were constantly telling people coming in twos or threes to seat at one end of the table only. I mean what if two people wants to talk face to face? There was no option of any table with capacity of two people only. Only four seater and six seater tables. Very very annoying. By god’s grace our privacy didn’t get intruded by the policy of the restaurant. 5. They took almost 25 minutes to deliver us that one plate of special biriyani and one plate of chicken butter masala. Although those masala kulchas came quite fast, as I had to play some tricks with them. 😜 6. Just above outlet table there was a fixed fan constantly keeping our food cold. Had to ask the waiter to reheat the chicken butter masala, and he grudgingly obliged 😝 7. The mutton pieces were full of fat, as in barely some meat there. 8. The biriyani was full of oil, although they claimed it was ghee, and I didn’t believe, because ghee cooked food has certain markers of smell. So 👎🏻 The place lacked any dust bin. Now coming to the pros 1. Biriyani was tasty. 2. Whatever mutton was there apart from bone and fat it was quite ok, I mean soft-ish.

Well coming all away from Kolkata to Barrackpore just to try the so called one of the “best biryani” in town, all I can say is that it's a really good biryani, well if they reduce the price a little bit then it would have been great, overall I am highly satisfied with the ambience, the service and the food. The thing which made me impressed more is the size of the chicken and mutton in the biryani, well THAT'S A BIG PIECE OF MEAT I'll get on my plate. And we also had chicken reshmi kebab on the sides and i have to say they were moist juicy and extremely delicious. The mocktails were also quite refreshing. It's a great experience from my side and y'all should definitely try The food we had : 1.Chicken Biryani 2.Special Mutton Biryani 3.Chicken Reshmi kebab Mocktails: 1.Blue Harbor 2.Thunder bolt

I had a delightful experience at this restaurant during the winter season, choosing to sit on their rooftop. The ambiance was lovely, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The highlight of the meal was definitely their biriyani, which was flavorful and satisfying. Equally impressive was their fish fry, which left me craving for more. Overall, the restaurant provided a wonderful dining experience with delicious food and a pleasant environment. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy great food and a nice setting.

A must place for a biriyani lover. The new ac restuarent is nice but you have to share seats with others. Staffs are well behaved and the ambiance is great and if you want to come here in winter then the roof top restaurant is best for dine in. Keep in mind that the ac restuarent food price is 30-40 rupees more than the old dada boudi hotel, which is justified. And now let's talk about the biriyani for which this place is famous. The mutton biriyani was great in taste and the aroma was just mind blowing. The mutton was well cooked and juicy.❤❤❤ The chicken biriyani was also great in taste.☺☺☺ And the quantity is very good . A special mutton or chicken biriyani can easily shareble between two person and a normal biriyani is more than enough for one person . But along with that we ordered crispy chicken as starter which was also great.❤❤ We also ordered chicken lababadar which we could not eat. Because the biriyani was so rich and flavourful that you don't have to take anything with it. The overall experience is great it is a must visit place for every biriyani lovers❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Price for 2 person : Around 700-800 Crispy chicken : 5/5 Mutton biriyani : 5/5 Chicken biriyani: 4.5/5 Chicken lababdar : 3.8/5 Overall experience: 5/5☺☺☺☺

My suggestion goes there on weekdays, not on holidays. We went there on 1st May for dinner. We waited for around 45min to 1 hour to get a table of 7, when we got the sit we had to wait for biriyani for approx 40min because the biriyani was over they cooked that again, so the biriyani quality and quantity were really good, we ate chicken kolmi kebab, mutton biriyani, mutton handi, and mutton Kali mirch

Undoubtedly one of the best biriyani in kolkata. Worth the travel, worth the money... deserves all the hype it gets.... you would leave this place thinking when to come back next. It's not very far from the station and the ambiance is good and cozy. The service was also nice . We didn't have to wait long for our food and the quality and quantity of the food was just top notch. Even the salad was good. Overall a great experience definitely will recommend.

We had to wait for quite a long time to place the orders which is quite annoying but the taste of the food recovered that. We took tandoori chicken, mutton biryani, mutton liver fry and firni. The tandoori was out of words. The biryani is mouth watering as always. Liver fry was very tasy(must try). Firni was also good but I seemed a bit sweeter than any other's. The ambiance of the restaurant is good but crowded. And if you head for the roof top, it opens after 6:30 pm.

The food was great, both quantity and quality were good. I went there for an invitation and biriyani was ordered. The meat was well cooked and the rice tasted well with all the seasonings. My complain is about the management. We went in a group of 15 people and they won't let us take the seat until everyone was present. This was very annoying as there wasn't any other arrangement for seating of people who are waiting. This place doesn't handle crowds too well.

Many people still do not know this place as mostly they come to the old Dada Boudi restaurant. The decoration and ambience is good. The food is good. The pressure is tremendous. You may have to wait more than hours to get a seat. Those who do not like to dine in a crowded & noisy environment should avoid this place.

What was supposed to be a runaway bestseller, eventually turned out to be a damp squib. All our expectations fell flat like a lead balloon—that sums up our experience at Dada Boudi Restaurant at Barrackpore. I'll tell you the juicy details of our soporific adventure if you're still interested. Our love for biryani prompted us to set foot in this eatery when we got the chance to swing by Barrackpore. On the first floor, the seating arrangements were made. When we entered the dining room we were asked to share a table with two other people. Our privacy went for a toss! The place was very pokey. Here is the list of food we ordered that day: 1. Special Mutton Biryani (₹460) 2. Handi Chicken (₹190) 3. Masala Thumbs Up (₹70) 4. Phirni (₹60) The special mutton biryani was very average. It failed to awaken our taste buds. Being an epicurean I have tasted biryani from different food joints. But it was utter disappointment! The piece of mutton was dry and chewy. I found it oily. The biryani came without an egg. In this platter, we've come to expect long grain basmati rice, but what was offered was ordinary rice. Our chicken dish was a bit bony. It was not up to the mark. Masala Thumbs Up was the only palate cleanser available. It was overpriced. And the phirni they offered was quantity-wise unsatisfactory. In the future, I hope they will improve their quality. But I will only recommend this eatery to my enemies. Please note that after eating on the first floor, you have to use the washroom on the third floor.

Bad experience 😔 Nothing special basically food bloggers created the hype. 1. Quality of food according to price poor. Mutton biryani 350/plate, where mutton burnt. Fish Fry taste is average. Salad mixed with lemon sticky to find out Cucumber and onion separately. 2. Ambience poor, too congested. There is great difficulty in getting in and out of placing the tables on top of each other. 3. Customer service average.

I visited here on a Sunday afternoon. Don't expect a seat instantly because there will be a long queue, especially in the months of summer as it is AC. We waited for an hour. Now coming to the experience and food. I will not talk about ambience because they don't promise such things. But the fact is the rooms is very constricted, the tables are very much close to each other and the seating space is very less, I know the non AC branch is no difference but when you are offering an AC unit with some added charges, you should take care of the seating at least. Also the AC barely justifies the heat. The food is same as that of the non AC, no complain in that part but the amount is comparatively less than that of the non AC because they use a small handi boul to serve the biriyani here which makes the quantity of rice lesser, also the aloo is often broken. Summing up, if you are going to have Dada Boudi biryani for the first time or maybe after a long time, go to the non AC one if not there is a big problem like a hot day or you can't accommodate in such an environment. Because the food is same, the queue will be same, and they give larger portion. Anyway I'm not rating the food but the overall experience compared to the non AC one.

This initiative is a great move by them, considering the daily increasing demand of there foods. Though the entry of the restaurant is beside the main building ask them before going (over the street counter).. In this situation they didn't show any precautionary steps by considering the number of people in the peak time. It's easy for the handicapped as they have lift which makes a easy ways for all... Nothing to say more regarding this.... Everyone knows about this Hotel... This hotels made us believed that a restaurant never get popular and first choice for people only by decorating interiors... Food is the ultimate point... Regarding food quality... It's one of the best biriyani across the bengal.. You can get chicken and mutton both and as side dishes aslo, as you can get the chaps... But they have introduced many variety of new food items in there list and majority is mouth water, you should try all gradually. Talking about the biriyani, the aroma and quality is totally mouth watering... And there way of serving the food is great... All the servers are good to the customers and was polite. And Dada Boudi is beside the Railway station only so you can have you meal and then can have the train... I'll recommend everyone to try atleast once... They also give home deliveries to the city (Barrackpore only) and takeaway facilities... If you are new to here or have not tried it then do go there and have there biriyani...

We have visited the Restaurant. Bad part is queue. At least you have to waste 30-45 minutes in queue to get the table. In summer it's horrible. Over all Nice place to visit with your family with good food and softdrinks. We have ordered crispy chicken and drumsticks as stature and it's very very delicious but the main part is Biriyani, the mutton is very very soft and tasty and the mutton size is good but the Biriyani is not upto the mark. Very very oily and trast is average. Basically it's hype but nothing else. It's very much personal opinion. Foods quantity is very good. Overall ambiance is good. Ambience - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food -⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value for money - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hygiene - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Location - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went there for weekend dinner and we had: Tandoori Chicken (2pc), 190/- Chicken Biryani, 240/- Tandoori Chicken Butter Masala (4pc), 260/- Green Salad, 50/- Packaged water and cold drinks each 20/- and 30/- respectively. Pros: Food was flawless. Every item was amazing. Dada Boudi is famous for Biryani and they maintained the consistency and taste. Ambience is pretty good. Little disappointed because fresh lime soda was not available. For food I rate this place 5 star. Cons: The service and hospitality could be better. They were not checking temperature. There should be a door at the place for handwash or they can remove one seating arrangement which is just beside the washroom.

I recently had the opportunity to visit this place, and it lived up to the hype. Despite a lengthy wait in the queue on weekends, the experience was worth it. The mutton biryani was exceptional, with perfectly cooked rice that wasn't overly oily, and the mutton was delightfully tender. The chanp was also beautifully prepared. Overall, it's a fantastic biryani joint that exceeded my expectations.

The place is over hyped in short! It's famous just for its biriyani which is indeed very good in taste but I won't say great. Since they are now already popular, their quality I guess has fallen down drastically. We ordered mutton biryani and there was hardly anything apart from the bones and 'chorbi'. The new rooftop that they have opened, is well decorated and has a nice ambience but the management needs to improve a lot. A couple of things which I didn't like: they have specific timings during which the food will be served at the rooftop outside which we didn't know. We waited downstairs in the queue for about 20-25m. Then after getting a place we had to wait another 45m just sitting idle waiting for someone to take the order. That is very bad customer management. And there is obviously no provision for parking. So you've gotto yourself find a place somewhere to park your car and then come walking to the restaurant. Hygiene needs to improve considerably specially since the restaurant is so popular! The rates of the items are normal compared to what you get in Kolkata. To end my review, it's just a one time visit if you are planning to go from Kolkata. Ahamori kichu na. But it's not worth all the parking hassle, waiting queues and all.

The well known Dada Boudi Restaurant for its delicious Biryani throughout the city. Had lunch with friends here last week. With good ambience and family crowd, the restaurant serves food with the perfect presentation and great taste. We had hariyali chicken kebabs and Reshmi chicken kebabs for starters. In the main course, we ordered for chicken biryani and mutton biryani served in handis. Tandoori butter rotis go well with Chicken do Piyaza and butter chicken. The pieces of the chicken could have been better, yet the taste was relishing!. If looking for a good place to have Biryani in the city, this place is highly recommended.

Dada boudi famous for biriyani. Very tasty Kolkata style biriyani without Egg. The biriyani herein is light, juicy not over spicy. Alu is very soft. Chicken and mutton pieces served are prety good in size and fresh too. Ambience of the restaurant is good enough but rush of people stays day to night especially at weekend days. Firni (a dessert ) is good in taste and Sweetness is pretty much balanced. Wide ranges of moctails are there which you can taste too.

This is the famous dada boudi restaurant which is popular mainly for its big mutton piece as well for their tasty biryani. We tried the bhetki fish fry, chicken reshmi butter masala and special mutton biryani. The quality and quantity is totally worthy to give it a try

Dear Reader, Hopefully you're doing well I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dada Boudi Biryani Shop in Barrackpore, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I entered, the aroma of freshly cooked biryani filled the air, instantly whetting my appetite. The biryani here is simply outstanding. The flavors are rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The rice is cooked to perfection, each grain separate and fluffy. The tender, succulent pieces of meat are generously spiced and incredibly flavorful. It's evident that the chefs at Dada Boudi have mastered the art of biryani preparation. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting. The staff members are friendly, attentive, and provide excellent service. Whether you're dining alone, with friends, or with family, the comfortable seating arrangements cater to all. The hygiene and cleanliness standards are also commendable. Overall, Dada Boudi Biryani Shop in Barrackpore has won me over with their authentic biryani. It's a hidden gem that deserves recognition. If you're a biryani enthusiast like me, make sure to visit this place—you won't be disappointed! Note: you have to wait in a queue for a period of time so accordingly plan to visit this place You're here ❤️ I'm glad 😊 Thanks for your time

It is a over rated place , nothing else. servicing is so bad. I ordered at 7 pm and got my food after 30 mins long wait. It was simple mutton biriyani and fish fry. still there is a long wait. If you have. a lot of time then you can go for it otherwise not necessary to visit for biriyani in dada boudi.

The taste of biryani was same as normal biryani of 100 rupees. Biryani did not have any special taste or very much taste. Biryani taste was not good. Moton Biryani was still worth eating but Chicken Biryani was a waste of money. I also tried Crispy Bubby Corn and Fish Finger which tasted good. Meat quality was not good on Biryani. I did not think that Biryani would taste so bad. All food is very costly of Dada Boudi restaurant. The waiters are also not very trined and no one had a smile on their face. They don't even give water from themselves. Took 20 rupees for a bottle of water.

Behaviour of the staff members were polite. It's situated near the railway station, so it's easy for the tourists to come to this place. I've travelled almost 30km to get a taste of this famous biriyani. My first time experience was not too shabby at all.

Located near barrackpore railway station. We ordered dinner 1. Mutton Biriyani = 350 2. Chicken Biryani= 250 3. Lime soda 🅿️ : parked beside the street,in front of the restaurant.. Percel rate of the biriyani is 40 rupees less. Mutton biriyani= 310, chicken biriyani= 210. Quality and Quantity wise always. Waiting times more than more than 20minutes on weekdays. We went at 8.00 pm. Payment option= Offline & Online both available.

The barrackpore one was a supposedly better one. However we found some degradation. Specially the biriyani. They are using oil. Or rather the bottom literally soaks with oil which wasn't good for us. However the Bhetki tandoor is a must try. The soft buttery charred fish melting was the best.

It has 2 building...the new one has a good ambience and spacious ...the food quality is good and it's pocket friendly... Here the biriyani is better than any other restaurants available here...take away counters are also available... recommendation will be to try the north indian cuisine than Chinese cuisine ... Staff behaviour is good ...free home delivery available if the order is above rs 500... sanitization is maintained...
