948th different cheesesteak eaten in the last 4 years. A day of cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan and his New Castle Cronies. Old Rail Tavern is decorated a lot nicer than I thought it was going to be. We got a cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms. We also got the Philly Special. The Philly special was the star. $18 I’m not rushing back for the Philly Special. The Cheesesteak, Amigo Dan’s half was not as good as mine. I guess we’ll call it good but inconsistent.

I heard "The Rail" - Old Rail Tavern - Barrington N.J. has good wings and food. My dad and I decided to check it out for lunch. He got the garlic hot, and I got the spicy honey garlic. No breading on these guys as they are naked. If you haven't had wings brined before, you'll notice how much it makes a difference. After frying, these meaty wings weren't dry in the least bit. We sincerely enjoyed our wings and cold beer on this warm day. The wings at The Old Rail are quality, I'll leave it at that. Wing lovers, make this a spot to check out. Seems like a locals bar as people walked in were greeted by other patrons. Felt a bit like an episode of Cheers. It was a welcoming environment. We sat at the bar. We received very kind and helpful service. I would recommend getting some fries to dip into your extra sauce!

Was not impressed by the wings. They’re not breaded but lacked seasoning and flavor. The ambience is a typical dive bar and the wait staff was not friendly. Plenty of other wing places to check out in the area

Today, I met with three old friends at the "Old Rail Tavern." I had the Bacon Bleu burger, and it was excellent! The "waitress" Danielle went above and beyond normal to make sure each of us had everything we could need. Considering it is Super Bowl Sunday and crowded everywhere else, we were VERY pleased to be here 😀

Great little bar and I do mean little this place is quite small inside. Went here for dinner with the family and had a great burger and a cold beer. Definitely will be back but if you go when it's busy you may feel a little cramped.

Some of the best wings I've had in a long time. Absolutely delicious. That brining does magic and that Buffalo Bleu sauce adds the right amount of heat. Perfectly crispy. The Gruyere Mushroom burger was also really good. Overall, excellent meal.

This place is so nice. Everyone is very friendly, and it was really heart warming to be treated as an individual, not just a customer. Absolutely intend on being back. Extra info: kitchen closes at 12a Sun-Thu, 1a Friday and Saturday.

My daughter and I love going for neighborhood walks and then stopping by The rail for an early dinner when the weather is nice. The food is always good and priced very well. They are extremely accommodating for my gluten free diet and are wonderful with making my daughter feel special and working with a dietary requests she has as a child. The atmosphere is small town kindness and lots of smiles. Service is always prompt. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this spot!

Food was good I guess. Salad okay. Cheesesteak egg rolls good. Probably the worst wings I've had in a long time, though. Like they were deep fried four times over. Couldn't even taste the chicken.

I've been coming here for years. I don't drink alcohol so I always get soda. I usually order a few sodas to go with my meal. I've never been charged for soda refills before. Apparently they're charging for soda refills now. I understand if this is their policy, however we weren't notified by our server and it wasn't indicated on the menu. I assumed soda refills were free since that is the case at most restaurants. We got a huge soda tab we weren't expecting. Servers should notify customers of this policy or at the very least it should be notated on the menu. I would've ordered water if I had known the policy.

Went there on Saturday 6/4 waitress asked how many people? There were 9 of us. She said she had a table for us in 10 minutes. Went to the table and another waitress came and said sorry I have someone coming in who was seated outside. When we got seated we ordered food and waited for 4 more people to arrive. Two people with me got their food and me and my girlfriend didn’t yet. Rest of our party arrived and ordered their food. There food came but we still didn’t get ours . The original waitress who took our order came over an hour and fifteen minutes later and said, didn’t you get your food yet? An hour and thirty minutes later we finally got our food. She offered to take two beers off the tab for the inconvenience. I only had one beer. The roast pork was not that good. Chunks of pork were to thick. I would suggest to constantly check on your food order. It was not a good experience.

Visiting Jersey for a week due to work. First day at work, we look for a place to eat lunch.… Found the old rail Tavern. Nice little set up on the corner, not much parking… But it's a nice little small town pub. Food was pretty phenomenal! One of the guys had a burger and chips, old fashion style chips. Another, old Bay fries… Delicious! Myself, Caesar salad, with some chicken. And boy was it delicious! My tab was under 15 bucks for a full meal, and a Gingerale, can't complain. Nice little atmosphere. Also, if you look up, you'll notice a bunch of dollar bills on the ceiling… Still wondering how they got up there because it is a high ceiling. Lol. Reading that, friendly service, and delicious food… Can't go wrong!
