Got yelled at by an older librarian from across the room while I was trying to encourage my very shy daughter to ascend the spiral staircase (AHS "Asylum" Vibes) to check out the enclosed middle schooler area like any concerned parent would do. I was absolutely humiliated, so I just got my books and left. She will probably never want to go in there after that. But hey...best of luck with that unsupervised preteen area with no windows. I wonder what was up there that you didn't want me to see.

I recently visited and was beyond delighted. I was so excited when I entered the library that I actually squealed! 😁 It's a rather charming location, has a great selection of reading/media material, and the lady in the genealogy section was wonderfully helpful and informative. I'm looking forward to returning to that section in particular (such interesting information especially in the card catalog). I loved the atmosphere overall and there are so many books I plan to check out. I haven't been to a library in ages (I have a personal one at home), but I'll definitely return to this one in the very near future. ♥️📚

I absolutely LOVE this place! I have lived here for over two years and just recently finally checked out the library. I think that it is especially excellent for a small town library. The atmosphere is so peaceful and they have a wonderful children's area. They even have an extensive selection of cake pans available for check out. These are the type that are very expensive that you would probably only use once. Rather than spending a lot of money, you can just check them out. There are also small private study rooms available and a meeting room. I now visit several times a week, just to sit and read.

Nice, spacious library with plenty of seating and amenities. The library had fast WiFi, quiet study rooms, public use computers, audio books, games, etc. The staff members were all friendly. Added benefit: complimentary coffee!

Of the many small-ish towns libraries I've visited nationwide, this is by far the best one. It surpasses other libraries in terms of items available for check out, including the amazing Library of Things. You can check out anything from a PC to a specialty cake pan. There are many comfy places to read -- and even a (free) coffee bar. Staff told me they set it up because some people came to the library to get warm/cool off, and now they can get coffee or tea. A wonderful, caring staff who are more like stewards of the chamber of knowledge and good cheer.

BPL is the best library I've ever been to. They are truly a great place to relax and a great environment for all ages. They offer so many different services and everyone is very welcoming and friendly.

Ruth Brown memorial bust was interesting...and we enjoyed seeing the mural outside. Her pride, was bringing new readers into the library, and instilling a hunger to learn....early. My grandmother was a graduate at the Alva College, and a committed librarian, until it was taken away.

Great place. Coffee is free and hit chocolate too. The staff is so helpful. The Career Corner is great for sending resumes
