Very disappointed. Based on the reviews from other people I thought the food will be amazing, but in fact it wasn't. They serve you left over olives and pickles that has been served to other people. There are many other breakfast places that has better quality dishes. Never again. this is the worst Foul i have ever had in my life. a Canned Foul tastes much better

I always wanted to try the breakfast at El Soussi since watching Food Bloggers especially Dr Anthony (NoGarlicNoOnion). The welcoming of Mr Raji and the staff is the most beautiful thing in this restaurant. Although the restaurant is always full, and Mr Raji is always under pressure, but his smile is always on his face. We ordered the full menu, the order was served quickly. If you want to try an authentic beiruti breakfast, you must try El Soussi. I recommend having Eggs with Kawarma

This is another famous restaurant in Beirut which has been recommended by CNN and also visited by many celebrities. It is a no frills dining place you don't expect this place to be high end with a proper menu. Recommended to go with someone local who can help you to order the special dishes to try. Got the honour of seeing the old owner himself preparing and cooking my dishes. He is a quiet man of few words yet can see how nimble his hands are and how fast he can whip up dishes. Be in surprise for what you eat cause there might be some 'fear factor' for people who are not used to eating slightly exotic stuff. It was definitely an experience for me eating sheep's brains which I loved it a lot, and also the liver. I don't really eat a lot of liver elsewhere but here it is so well cooked and the sauce packs so much flavour to the meat. If you want to go with the safer options try the hummus, fatteh, eggs with meat or salads. Highly recommended and best to visit on weekdays morning.

This place is simply amazing. It offers some of the best authentic Lebanese food prepared by the 75 year old owner and still going. The fatteh and eggs with kawarma are a must try .

Fantastic...This place is a must for an authentic Lebanese breakfast or brunch. The main show comes from the owner cooking with passion and ready to interact with his visitors. It is an enjoyable experience and although the location is a bit awkward and hard to find, the place is also full of tourists.

This world famous restaurant is a MUST VISIT place when you’re in Beirut. It is amazing that after all these years of running and with all the attention this place has received, it is still being run by the same person at his age using a single burner. The food served is quite spectacular and the guys running the place are super nice and friendly. Make sure you head early in the morning as all the tables will be full by around 9 AM.

Food. Very tasty traditional Lebanese breakfast, especially the « bayd bi awarma » (eggs with meet), fatteh bi Laban (hoummos with bread and yogurt), liver (Sawda), hoummos with meet, nkha3at (difficult to translate :)),... very simple restaurant with great food and hospitality experience

One of the most fascinating hidden gems of Beirut, it holds the spirit of old Beirut, everything about the place is old and authentic, including the taste and recipes. It all started in 1890 as a small shack right behind the municipality of Beirut on Wegand street, later it in the 1930s the placed moved to a bigger place, then after the end of the war it moved to it’s current location. The place has won severan awards and has been recognized by world famous food shows and contests. Raji Kibbeh who is the grandson of the late Hajj Mahmoud Soussi who established the place still prepares food at the restaurant now. The man is super swift, fast, and very chatty! Food at Soussi is great, mainly the “Fatteh” along other dishes as well. But make sure you go there early as the place closes at around 2, and on 4 at rare occasions. The place is relatively cheap, around 3 to 4$ max / plate.

This place is simply amazing! One of the gems of beirut. The food is simply delicious, everything is done by the same guy, who's been working there for the past 60 years! He's 75 and still does his delicious fatteh, sawda, hommus, and awarma eggs like noone and nowhere else 😍😍

I had the pleasure of dining at El Soussi restaurant recently. The restaurant has been serving traditional Lebanese breakfast for many years, and it is clear that they know what they are doing. The service was also excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who were happy to make recommendations. I enjoyed a variety of dishes, including eggs and awrama, sawda (liver), and fettah. The eggs and awrama were hearty and flavorful, with the eggs cooked perfectly. The sawda (liver) was a traditional Lebanese dish that was grilled and served with onions, tomatoes, and spices. It was also hearty and flavorful. The fettah was a light and refreshing dish of hommos, yogurt and toasted bread. The yogurt added a nice tanginess to the dish. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at El Soussi restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Lebanese breakfast.

You should go here if you want to try the best Lebanese breakfast ever; the taste will never be forgotten, especially the liver dish and the balladi local eggs with meat; plus, the costs are quite reasonable for everyone. 5 ⭐️

El Soussi is an authentic, Lebanese (Mediterranean) restaurant that serves local dishes (e.g. Hummus and Ful). It is one of the oldest restaurants in Beirut. Food here is incomparable. “Fattah” is a must-try. Although it is located far away from Beirut downtown, it is worth visiting. In my opinion, your experience in Beirut is incomplete unless you visit such places. Undoubtedly, I will come here again. Ps: it closes at 1:30 pm.

Don’t go and expect a fine dining experience. Small old almost ancient shop. The same old man still makes the food himself. He is full of positivity and very welcoming. The fatteh is absolutely amazing! We ordered fatteh, beid bi awarma, hummus, fried asbeh (liver) and foul. Everything was phenomenal except for the foul, it was average.

An absolute hidden gem for those adventurous enough to go into the heart of the local area. The staff and owner are super friendly, service was very quick, food was delicious (chicken liver and hummus is a must try) and the price was cheap! What more can you ask for.

My family have lived on the same street as Soussi for 35+ years. This is my go-to breakfast spot. You can not go wrong, delicious food, incredible hospitality. The ONLY place for breakfast in Beirut.

We found this place by following Mark Wiens' food tour on Youtube (Mark hasn't let us down yet!) Therefore, we knew exactly what we wanted to order before we arrived. Otherwise, it might not be so easy to order here, as there didn't appear to be any printed menus, etc. It's a small, very casual place full of local regulars. The waiter seemed impressed that we already prepared our order in advance LOL. The highlight was the Awarma and Eggas (scrambled), which we ended up ordering a 2nd course of. Fatteh was good, which means a lot coming from me, as it's not usually a dish I'm fond of. Roka salad also fantastic. The only thing missing was something spicy like a chili paste. The staff there were welcoming and helped us get a table, but English ability is low. As long as you go knowing what you want, it shouldn't be a problem. Also, don't expect the cleanest place or anything gourmet. This is really a local neighborhood joint, very fast and very casual.

My recent visit to [Sousy], a traditional Lebanese restaurant, left me extremely disappointed. The food was lackluster, lacking flavor and freshness. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, showing little interest in providing good customer service. Surprisingly, they didn't offer any tea options. The atmosphere was uninviting, with outdated decor and uncomfortable seating. Overall, I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

😐 Overall, it was ok. We ordered kibbeh nayyeh, potatoes with chili and cilantro, kibbeh mishwiyyi, kibbeh mabroomi, meat kabseh, fawaregh, grape leaves, koosa with eggplant and cabbage, shish barak. They start off by serving a mixed pickle dish which is absolutely delicious. This 1 item deserves a 10...
