Beautiful place, so serene, you can actually feel the cool breeze and quite take you away on a spiritual journey. The place is awesome for a weekend getaway. Stay there till dawn but make sure you find your way up before the sun sets completely as the road may not be very convenient to drive at night. Also, do get your own food cause thereโ€™s no food joint anywhere nearby. Be sure you carry plenty water too. And donโ€™t go treading too close to the water, youโ€™ll never know when the dam releases water, ALWAYS BE CAREFUL AND STAY AT A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE WATER.

Place is only for boating, kind of under developement as on date. Some fast food vendors are there but no serious lunch facility. Boating prices are reasonable (400 per person for mid-speed and 1500 for high speed boat). U shaped lake itself needs cleaning but somehow, it's good spot for spending time with kids (2 hrs only). Kids though enjoyed riding the *bull machine*.

Excellent view โ€ฆ one can enjoy the beauty of natureโ€ฆView of Basohli bridge ATAL SETU is beatiful. Village Sarti,Dukhniali and Phangota is worth visit. Ranjeet Sagar Dam is situated on river Ravi near town Shahpur Kandi. Timely public transport is also available from Pathankot. Shahpur Kandi is approximately 20 kms from Pathankot.

A good place to visit as there are lot of view points for tourists. If you are visiting to see hydro power project, you have to seek permission from the concerned authorities prior to your visit but if you want to see the water reserve and adjoining area you can go any time. If you are entering from lakhanpur or shapur, you have view points at Dam site and you can head farward to Basohli where you can go to purthu (A near view of land scape and shore of the Dam) and Atal setu (a cable bridge over Dam), one can also see Basohli Fort.

Gorgeous blue lake folded into the rolling hills by a dam. The view from the Atal Setu suspension bridge is quite breathtaking. For some reason the shoreline had no places to stay - a huge loss of tourist potential

This lake is beautiful, the lake is between three states Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Atal Setu a Cable Bridge which is above this lake joins all three states..

I was passing through Ranjit Sagar Dam and it was mesmerising. Beautiful blue lake amidst mountains giving scenic beauty worth capturing in a painting. It is widely spread in the area. On one side of it activities also happens and that area is called as Mini Goa. This dam is situated in the outskirts of Pathankot near Shahpur Kandi and reachable from Pathankot via road in around 40 mins to 60 mins drive depending how one drives.

Extremely beautiful area which is away from the traffic and city and the crowd, that's why it's comparatively cleaner tourist place. It's a huge lake. Although, the lake is risky, as the depth of the lake is unknown and there is no such facility to attend any emergency. Enjoy the place keeping a safe distance from the water. Otherwise it's a place one must go till it doesn't become a regular tourist spot with loads of people and garbage.
