What an amazing collection of WW2 Tanks. A real eye opening education into the strong character required to operate these claustrophobic steel monsters. We were fortunate enough to hear some tanks engines being fired up.The noise is deafening. You also do not realise the size of a King Tiger until you stand next to it.I had the opportunity to sit in several examples.Tight space, not for the faint hearted .I feel privileged to see and learn about these things most people have never experienced

Having visited the area before but not made it to the museum. I was thrilled to finally get to visit. The price for entry was reasonable especially on the basis of the wide array of tanks to view. There were tanks from the First World War through to modern times and from many countries. Also, bikes, cars and armoured vehicles. A real treat and very pleased to have visited.

Fantastic museum with a great selection of tanks. The information boards are in German and English and are superb. Additional historic information is given to specific historic events. Informative pictures in part showing the cruelty of war are also provided. All in all this is for sure on of the best museums I have ever been!

Well worth a visit if you’re interested in history or technology. The evolution of tanks through the 20th century, the reason specific models were conceived, and the stories of the men who operated them is truly awe inspiring

Sehr gut gemachte Ausstellung.

Absolutely amazing Musem. I traveled here while on break during a business trip. The museum has an amazing collection of German Armor. It was absolutely worth the extra effort I made to get to it.

Very very good place to visit if you like tanks! Stopped here on our way from Sweden to Stuttgart and it was well worth every penny. And it costed us 10€ per person, which is very cheap considering the amount of vehicles and history in here. Will return again if I am ever passing by!

Great place if you are interested in tanks and the history of armoured warfare. If you are staying in Hamburg it's only an hour away by road.

Spent 3.5 hours and could have stayed another hour. Great value. About 100+ vehicles on display from WW1 to modern. Travelled by train from hamburg, use soltau route for HVV fares all the way.

Nice and easy to find with a good car park and places for mobile homes. €8 to get in and well worth it. Lots to see and read. Cafe is tiny so go to the cafe across the road for coffee.

A very beautiful visit to a great part of history, amazing! The museum grounds are full of interesting exhibits. The visit took us about 2 hours, but I think 3 hours would be ideal.

Super interesting place with lots of war vehicles from ww1 to the present days! Definitely a good choice to visit it) It took around 2 hours to enjoy the exhibition.

This is one of the top tank museums of the world. Offers a comprehensive collection on all armoured vehicles ever used by Germany including GDR. Very well organized and technically and in timeline sorted, some of the devices is still in a working condition. A must visit for everyone interested in war machines.

Very impressive collection, at least 2/3 of it is in English. Not much information about each vehicle, but all were in either top-mint or driving condition(!). As someone with tank knowledge/interest it took us a little more than 4 hours to see, but if you don't have particular interest, I would recon you would need about 1-2 h. A nice shop at the end where you can get a little food or ice cream. Another option for food is a grill across from the museum. You cans see about 5 vehicles in front of the museum without ticket.

The coolset collection tanks i have ever seen in my life! The only thing missing was a Ferdinand Elefant, i know there is only one on display in Kubinka, but would well fit! Will be back if i have the time!

If you like tanks then this is a great place to visit! The number of tanks and variety is impressive. O course the majority are from Germany from the Second World War but other nations are represented to try and tell the whole tank development story. There are modern tanks with the Leopard 2 being on display. The gift shop could have a better selection and there were a couple of staff who keep the German stereotype of being harsh and rude alive; overall the staff were friendly enough. There isn’t a cafeteria there but just across the road is an “Imbiss“(small eat-in /take-out place) that offers good food at reasonable prices. I would recommend this museum to anyone interested in tanks or the Second World War in general.

Very good exhibition of most of the German tanks through times. Impressive and well worth a visit Today the electronic payment system was down so remember to bring cash

One of best collections ever arranged in one place. II WW is so solid and nearly nothing is missing from entire tanks sellection. Only small misnu for how cool motorbikes are shown, at the very end poor old boys place against wall. Could be better done.

  • 5/5 Brokk 2 years ago on Google
Featuring one of the largest collections of tanks, the museum is both fun and educational! They feature many different tanks from different eras, and can answer most tank related question from memory.

A fine collection and very well laid out. IMO? Better than Saumur and Saumur is very good. If you like AFV’s this is a good place!

Very interesting museum, panzer from the WW1 to WW2, I wounder why human beings don't learn from the history and still developing new weapons to destroy the world 😢😢😢

  • 5/5 Ruben K. 1 year ago on Google
Great museum, if not 'the', for those who are interested in the military vehicles used by Germany - ranging from World War I to modern times. Though the bulk of the collection dates from World War II. Very orderly displayed, never feels cramped. The offering of a family ticket for a very good price is also worth mentioning. When coming here with kids you can expect to spend an hour here. When only with interested people, several hours. Recommended.

I knew there is a lot of stuff there before going but I was not expecting it's so many... Surprisingly lot of various vehicles with description and information also in English (somewhere missing but promised to be in near future). Great place for people interested in tanks and military. If I could, I would put the Merkava to a more photography-friendly position within the Museum. They have a nice souvenir shop too!

Really Nice place to visit for everyone. All thanks have description in German and English. God work Deutsches Panzermuseum 👍

  • 5/5 Kip 11 months ago on Google
There are more tanks and other vehicles than I thought. I took over 200 pictures. Every vehicle has a little info board with it and sometimes also a video, which gives you a bit of general information in german and english. One of the tanks outside can be entered in the commander's seat or whichever seat that was, not too much to see but it's definitely a nice experience overall, took us 4 hours but it definitely takes less time when you're only reading some of the information provided.

Been trying to get here for the last few years and eventually everything fell into place. Excellent AFV museum charting everything from ww1 onwards. Friendly helpful staff. Limited food options but garage close by for croissants traybakes etc if needed

The place to visit if you're a world war 2 tank enthusiast, or just a tank enthusiast in general Friendly staff, exhibition is chronological from the first tanks ever to very recent ones and not only do they have a PzKpfWVI tiger they also have a KönigsTiger tank. Just all in all a great place to visit

  • 4/5 Provvo90 2 months ago on Google • 2 reviews New
Lots to see for all that enjoy looking at armoured vehicles through the ages. There is a large selection of vehicles, though not all of the descriptions are in English, but this should not deter you from visiting. There are tour guides available that may accommodate other nationalities that don't speak fluent German, but you should check in advance. Although the shop and cafeteria is small, it serves the purpose of selling refreshments and gifts. Depending on how quickly you want to visit I would give 1-2 hours to see all the exhibits.
