Also ruhig einen ganzen Tag einplanen.

The exhibition is nice specially the future food exhibition. Customer service is zero, the lady at the front desk was very rude, she asked me where I was from I said America but that I had recently moved to Germany, and she told me in a rude way, how come I did not speak Doich. She did not wanted to continue speaking English to me because she knew too little according to her, but the customers behind us were from Prague and she was very nice to them and spoke good English. Since I couldn't get an audio in English, my daughter and I just look at the exhibition and kept on walking. I would definitely not go back to this place.

Amazing exhibition. Gonna be entertaining for both adults and kids. However, the lack of English translation near the exhibits made it hard to understand. Please add them that would be awesome.

I only had 24 hours in Dresden and it’s unfortunate that I spent 2+ hours getting to and trying to navigate this museum. I work in health care so I figured I’d enjoy the largest health museum in the world more than, say, an art museum or the inside of another church. I was wrong. The experience was ruined by the fact that the permanent exhibit has very little in English. A section of the exhibit would but if you wanted to read about a particular piece in the collection, it’s all in German. I spent more precious time going back to the reception area where they explained I could download an app. I did but the audio tour would have been way too slow to go through the museum. I DO understand that this is Germany, but I DO NOT understand how a health care museum doesn’t use English (all European doctors study medicine in English, as far as I know). Plus the common language for non-German tourists is English. It’s not just spoken by native English speakers, but Spanish, Italian, Czech tourists and so on. From what i did see and try to understand of the museum it was oddly curated and just seemed to be repetitive of other exhibits I’ve seen before. Some of the public health posters for HIV prevention, for example, were interesting to see. If you have limited time in Dresden, skip this museum.

Very interesting museum, but most of exhibits in the museum doesn't have english description or any other language description, except german. It is not comfortable for foreign visitors!

A little old, but it's a big museum that has some exhibitions on different interesting topics. We liked their DNA exhibition! We didn't take our kids to the museum this time, but the exhibition about the body was interactive and kids would definitely enjoy it.

Sehr lehrreich, sehr interessant.

Excellent museum that brings health sciences to life. I was really impressed by my visit, and the self-reflection on the problematic nature of its history promoting eugenics and racial science. The permanent collection is very well put together and maintained, with plenty to keep visitors stimulated, and on my visit there was a temporary exhibition on happiness developed by the Wellcome Collection in London. English speakers are well-served.

Has interesting collection when it comes to science and human body. The quality of the museum drops unfortunately with other show-rooms. There is an exhibition in the first floor that is changing multiple times a year.

A great family activity is to check out the Future Foods temporary exhibit. Super interactive, and the display at the very back of the exhibit is truly stunning. What a way to take a person on a journey of where and how their food came to be. Student discounts available for TUD students with valid ID. Permanent exhibits also open when visiting temporary exhibits. There is a cafe on location. It takes about 2 hours to interact with the Future Foods (possibly more with children) and maybe another 2 hours to see other exhibits, plan your time accordingly. Some interactive features are for viewing only at this time due to Health restrictions. Bring coins to operate the storage cupboards for your bags. Enjoy your visit! I enjoyed mine :)

Not sure I can recommend it due to huge lack of English descriptions under the elements. Highly unfriendly place for foreigners. According to my rough estimation only about 30-40% of the exhibition is being covered by English. However, if you are a person who knows German pretty well (b2+) I believe it worth visiting this place

I'd heard a lot of exciting stories about this museum, in reality to me this was disappointing. You cannot do this and that and somehow kids are not allowed to drink water and tickets must be validated all the time etc - this is one of the most embarrassing museum experiences for me. At least with kids there are museums well better suited. There is a restaurant in the building, but everything is super slow and the food is mediocre. One the side note, given museum history - perhaps maybe it is just bad spirit

The museum is “must have to visit” place for tourists in Dresden. It contains the huge information about human’s body and everything connected to it. We spent 3 hours and saw only 3/6 rooms, so this place requires almost a whole day, but it’s worth our while BUT Despite there is an English audio guide and some global descriptions are English translated, a lot of information is still German only. And it’s sad, because non-german visitors could skip a bunch of facts. Hope it’ll be fixed in narrow future

(Translated by Google) The Hygiene Museum in Dresden is always worth a visit! No matter whether it's a children's museum or permanent exhibitions ... The newly designed children's museum is now also suitable for little explorers! It is centrally located and is therefore easy to reach and next to it there is a super great playground and the beautiful large garden. (Translated by Google) A great museum for the whole family. In the children's museum, even two-year-olds can discover interesting things about the five senses. About every six months, exhibitions on a variety of topics change. Children up to 16 can visit the museum for free. Tickets can be used on two consecutive days. Always worth a visit. One of the coolest if not the coolest museums in Dresden. I have been here 3 times already and every time I discover new and interesting exhibits. I would recommend coming on a weekday if possible firstly because it won't be so crowded and secondly you can find cheaper tickets on certain days during the week. Highly recommend for any body who is into science, biology, medicine or anthropology.

Cool exhibitions, quite interactive, lots of funthings to see/read. There are only 2 downsides - if you have a backpack, make sure you have a 1 or 2 EUR coin for a locker, otherwise they will refuse to let you in. The other is that all exhibits in the permanent exhibition are missing ingormation in English. It is all just in German. I used Google translate but it could have been a much better experience. The AI exhibition was in German/English. Why not make the permanent one more accessible too?

I think this is generous rating. Two reasons. First, museum title is misleading if translated to english. Museum is not about hygiene but about human being in broad sense. Very different subject. Second, it is only for German speakers since very few exposits are translated to english.

Such a beautiful exhibition on so many different subjects and topics like AI, Medicine, Food, Psychology, History and so much more. They also have video and audio guide videos on the museum itself which provides so much information about various topics. My favourite section was the "Pregnancy and motherhood" one❤️

English review. The A.I. (artificial intelligence) exhibition was excellent. About 90 percent of the the exhibitions had an English translation and appeared to have a very little bias. There were some statements targeting "the west" but since big tech is largely a western creation, it is hard to be cynical. While the Human Biology exhibition was far less useful. Less then 10 percent was translated to English are strong biases towards blaming the west for all the obesity issues. One statement was claiming over 50 percent of westerners are obese and the west is the primary producers unhealthy food. Oddly, I didn't see any statistics for the other countries. The exhibits were interesting with lots of models and pictures.

We went to the fabulous Kindermuseum which was about all the senses. Very interactive, interesting, visual, haptic, tactile stations. Unfortunately it only ran a certain time frame, but we made it there twice, since our child completely enjoyed it. Well worth every cent and easy to get to. Generally no waits, no Queues. However the cloakroom situation could slightly be improved on Sundays. Usually you have people in the cloakroom and Cubby holes which close. But generally a nice museum, the shop is also very well stocked with readworthy kids books and the museum cafe is ok for a coffee.

This is meant to be one of the best museums in DD but for me it feels more like a walk through a rather dull secondary school biology text book than a cutting edge museum. Okay for a rainy day but not really a must-see.

If you are visiting Dresden this is a must see place!

Very interesting museum! I'd say it's also an uncommon museum. You get a lot of information and it's presented in a nice and easy-to-follow way. There are also some 'activities' to try out for kids (grown-ups are allowed to try them out too of course!), so the museum suits everyone!

It was a total disappointment. We only enjoyed at the beginning part which demonstrates human body, rest %75 of the museum is surprising not interesting nor entertaining. Its so silly to see they build the place full of items you can see around life or market such as used old shoes, tinder logo mask, some kitchen equipments, tv showing poor quality meme videos etc. If i knew i would prefer to waste my time with more efficient ways. Edit: Thanks for your kind answer, we visited all of them, honestly kids area was slightly better then the others.

The children's area on the lowest floor happened to be very crowded on a weekday, with several classes of loud school children. The other exhibitions are more quiet and very interesting.

  • 5/5 Przemysław W. 11 months ago on Google
Well, it is a mix of new and old style presentations. DNA parts - interesting but annoyingly old-fashioned, lots of reading, almost zero interactive activities. But the main exhibition is full of knowledge and participative activities for kids and young adults. Very good parts regarding Sex, Family and Brain. All to all - good choice, especially for kids and youngsters, but even adults can increase their knowlwdge.

One of the best museums of Dresden. Great variety on the topics and the way of presentation. Interactive, digital or analog as well. The children museum is also great for children from 3 years on I would recommend. The extraordinary exhibitions are worth a visit as well as they are done on the same level of detail and background knowledge. So overall really a Museum you see and learn a lot and time flies by, without noticing.

Because of Corona, you have to book a time slot, which of course costs extra, in order to find out that there are masses of signs "Out of order for your safety" on site. For an exhibition that is specified as 1.5 hours, we needed 30 minutes. Don't forget headphones, they also cost extra. In times of Corona a pure rip-off, full price and only half possible. If there were minus stars then minus 10. There are definitely better organized museums. (Original) Das Museum ist nicht zu empfehlen. Die Buchung war schon eine Katastrophe. Tickets booked in advance on the Internet due to Covid-19. - Everything problem-free, fast and reliable. When visiting the exhibition, my two online tickets (my partner and I) were NOT checked and recorded as described on the homepage. I could have used a random ticket that looked similar to the original. The security personnel did not point out the mask requirement if the distance could not be maintained. This one in the German Hygiene Museum Dresden ... Sorry - NOT like this! For this reason, in connection with the current Covid-19 pandemic, I can only give one star. The exhibition deserves 5 points. Good information about different prisons - not only in Germany, also internationally, a lot interactive. Objects to touch ... Monitors to call up different contributions in different languages. TOP! Ask prisoners questions (by postcard) that the prisoners themselves answer and their answers on the Internet. I call that communication. Entschuldigung - so NICHT! Excellent museum about the human body and what goes into maintaining it. The concept is designed so that everyone has something to do and find interesting. I enjoyed that it also went into social norms, ethics and standards that go into how we perceive health. The museum is has many accessibility aids and audio guides.

Very informative, educating and fun museum with lots of different topics from childbirth and diseases to sexuliaty and death. Clever gadgets that visualise different phenomenons through hands- or ears-on experience. The downside was that the information was not very accessible for non-German speakers, only some of the most important parts being translated. Still worth a visit though, in my opinion.

(Translated by Google) Still very worth seeing. Both the permanent exhibition and the special exhibitions. (Original) Nach wie vor sehr sehenswert. Sowohl die Dauerausstellung, als auch die Sonderausstellungen.

(Translated by Google) I can't comment on the exhibitions as we didn't get a ticket anymore. But then we were briefly on the toilet. And what can I say ... it was incredibly bad for a hygiene museum. The faucets weren't contactless, nor were the soap. There were no disinfectant dispensers at the entrance or in the toilets. I would have expected something else. It was certainly a shame about the exhibition. Da hätte ich doch was anderes erwartet.

(Translated by Google) Registration is required during Corona times. The permanent exhibition was quite nice and provides an insight into human biology. You have to pay individually for the special exhibitions. The prices are quite high. The name Hygiene Museum is a bit misleading.

(Translated by Google) Was 9 years old with my son in the children's museum and he was enthusiastic, he comes to discover a lot for himself and had a lot of fun, you should only have a pair of headphones with you, they are currently not available, or you can buy some at the cash register (Original) War mit meinen Sohn 9 Jahre alt im Kindermuseum und er war begeistert er kommt vieles selbst entdecken und hatte viel Spaß, man sollte nur paar Kopfhörer dabei haben die sind zur Zeit nicht verfügbar, oder man kauft an an der Kasse welche
