This is a very interesting museum. To be honest, if you are not into wildlife this may not be for you. I don't hunt anymore, because I find food elsewhere and I prefer to see the animals and fish alive in the wild, but I certainly fish as often as I can (90% catch and release) so I don't have any issues with hunters or fisherpersons in any way. If you do this place isn't for you. This museum has the most detailed history of fly fishing gear (including hooks, polls, reels and creels) I've certainly ever heard of. The history of guns is almost as impressive. But the detail of the various birds and fish in this part of Europe is incredibly detailed and thorough. I recorded many of the bird calls which included interactive images to help me identify birds in Italy near our home in Col Martese. Lastly, had no idea there was such a thing as a Racoon Dog or Giant Deer that stood 9ft tall at the shoulders, and loved the Cave Bear skeletal exhibitand the information surrounding them. 7eu cost of admission. Takes 45 to 120 mins depending on your level of interest.

If you are an adult without the kids, go straight to the top floor. The most interesting exposition is there. First time in the unordinary hunting museum, and I sinked in the old artefacts of this entertainment of the nobility of the middle age.

It's not a huge museum but has some interesting things and fine for the price. I really enjoyed the collection of items made from bone/ivory including gunpowder flasks and jewellery. It's mostly in German so be prepared to use Google translate on your phone if that isn't your native language. Cash only.

Cute little museum with quaint displays of many stuffed animals and fish. The English version with the card is not so good, but good enough for a laugh. Most displays don't have too much information in English. Currently have the microplastics exhibition which is prescient but again, not in English at all. Not too big, done in an hour or so.

Lots of interesting and fun taxidermy, with a lot of history behind fishing and hunting. If you are an international traveler, there are only a few displays with non-Deutsch placards and writings, and the interactive elements in the first portion, while they show English options, only work if you select Deutsch as the language. Still well worth the visit, and using the Google translate app works well enough

So little info in English? In every big city in Europe that is also making big bucks out of tourism and respects their guests, the museums have the decency to display info in both the national language and English for all info cards and interactive media...

German hunting and fishing museum is the greatest fun next to Frauenkirche. 🎣 Real catch! 📺 The modern museum is full of Multimedia and Interactive displays where the kids can watch and learn. The card to activate the displays is given at the cashier. 💾 Inside all kinds of animals and fish. 🐠

a museum of hunting history and culture in Bavaria. entrance is 7 euros / adult and only in cash. divided in 3 floors the ground floor contains collection of animals in Bavaria environment. The second floor is for fishing history and collection from sea life in the rivers and lakes of Bavaria with stories and videos from fishermen. the third floor is the most interesting with collection of old hunting rifles/swords and paintings from the 17th and 18th century with all the items used back then and a great collection of hunting paintings and dears' heads.

Worth a quick visit, especially if you need a respite from the weather. Not a hunter myself, but it was still a cool place to see. Also very affordable for the experience.

Beautiful museum, good for kids and adults. It's doesn't expose cruelty, but cultivates respect to nature. The old hunting tools presented there are incredible pieces of art.

Very cool museum but sadly, you can only pay the entry fee in cash. They don't accept card payments.

Super experience! A really good place to go in Munich regardless of your relation to hunting. I'm not a fan nor supporter but it was very interesting to learn more about this so-called "sport". Moreover, it is beautifully decorated, and the entry is well priced considering what you get.

Don't know what else to say other than: they tried. Absolutely beautiful building, unfortunately a number of the displays either didn't work, or are broken. Quite poorly done taxidermy on many of the animals, and a large section devoted to the fabled Tatzelwurm felt out of place in what is otherwise an educational, and real, museum

In an excellent location, a very nice museum for the people that love nature. With a cheap ticket (7 euros I think), you have access to thousands of exhibits. Especially the fishing department is mind blowing!

It was a pleasure to see, that the "Deutsches Jagdmuseum" offers all kind of interesting information about hunting in Bavaria. It was my first visit after the renovation and I'm impressed about the upgrade. Recommended to everybody interested in hunting and fishing.

My 9 year old loved it. As an American, I have mixed feelings. Most things seemed to be German only, half of the displays were really well done, and half seemed untouched in 50+ years. It's a mix...overall enjoyable and I loved seeing the inside of the old monastery church. The temporary exhibit on Tatzelwurm was awesome. I recommend it to locals and am hesitant to recommend it to foreigners.

Not the most appealing idea for a museum but Bavaria is still an area that mai tains traditional hunting methods. Disapointed that there is no English audio guides, only German, but I did enjoy the fishing exhibition which takes yku through a river bed. Very well done. Lots of scary looking fish

Really interesting, and a couple from Munich were really nice and showed me a lot of cool things in that museum.

It’s a lovely museum for children! Easy to navigate and interactive enough! Not too crowded on a Sun afternoon.

Surprisingly enjoyable. Our two boys ages 4 and 6 absolutely loved this museum even though 2 sections were closed off. The exhibits are well laid out and interactive. I'm not really into fishing or hunting but it was pretty fun. It's a perfect 1.5 hours to duck into from Viktualienmarkt.

If you are in the area, and enjoy the outdoors like I do, you have got to check this place out. For a small fee you can check out some very interesting exhibits detailing the history of hunting in Germany and Europe. Very cool to see all the antler mounts, artwork, and especially the beautiful weapons. There are also some fishing exhibits, areas that would appeal to kids and important exhibits about conservation. Please visit and support this place!

This is a very interesting place to visit. Some very strange and unique displays here, worth the visit to see the trophies of the past as well and all the very old fishing and hunting tools and techniques.

A random find in the old city. The first level is a bit under whelming so I almost left without going up but it is worth it. All the exhibits descriptions are in German only.
