Excellent small science museum. Free admission, but check in advance about access as it depends on the Fermilab security level. Great place to take the kids for an hour or two.

Enjoyed it, but it's mainly for kids who need to be with a school tour. No films or anyone there to enlighten the public about some extraordinary discoveries, and sadly, the Fermi lab itself is closed to the public

What a great place for Hands-On learning for kids and adults alike. Completely free to the public my children and I were able to spend a good two hours here learning and having fun at the same time!

Great place for kids - perhaps most appropriate food middle school aged kids. Moderately interesting for adults too.

Great explanation and demo exhibit which interactive to show all the great physics and energy projects they do at the Fermi lab.

Lots of interesting setups. The connection to physics is not always obvious. But you can ask the people at the entry. They are knowledge and very friendly.

Grandkids loved it. Even though they are really too young to completely understand the exhibits, after visiting, the younger one decided he wants to be a scientist.

Great place that describes what is done at Fermilab.

Educating for a general audience on a very difficult subject is a tall order. The demos could be somewhat better explained as to how to perform them but all in all very remarkable.

Great for upper elementary through adult, if one is patient enough to really explore the exhibits. The teacher resource center is a treasure for those developing or exploring any STEM concepts.

I like to visit this little museum every now and then. It is definitely child-oriented and also a bit rundown, or at least it was a few times I visited before. The best part in my opinion is the merchandise store, they have some really good stuff there worthy of becoming a present for a good friend!

A cute and cozy education center. There are indoor and outdoor activities. There is a gift shop and a teaching materials/resources section. A great stop for those wanting to learn and explore. This is very child/family friendly and is a short walk from Wilson Hall.

A good place to take kids to learn about science. Real experiments with zero expense. I enrolled my grade 2 daughter to a science camp offered at the center. She loved it and has learnt a lot more than I expected. Only caveat is that they don't offer after class day care. Still, a very good place to learn hands-on experiment.

Best free kids experience in the Chicago area. Scenery is gorgeous outside for a nature day, but inside the Lederman there's a wide variety of engaging experiments to teach kids about physics and engineering. Free to the public and open almost all the time. You can also get lunch in the main building and walk to Lederman via a cute bridge. Hike or bike on the nature trails. The scientists and hosts are super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone with children anywhere from 3-18 to get them engaged in science and engineering. Thank you Fermi!!!

This is relatively small center with several hands-on exhibits that will educate and entertain the family. The content seems more appropriate for middle school and higher. However, because of the numerous hands-on activities, younger kids would also be entertained but probably won't learn to much. Some of the exhibits could use better signage and a couple weren't working properly. I was with a group so I can't say for sure, but I believe admission is free. If your visiting fermilabs, it's worth a visit. I would say 30min-1 hour would be a good amount of time here.
