I was there to support my loyal wife, but i have to admit to having an absolutely delightful experience at The Jane Austen Centre. The staff here are not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable and, to my pleasant surprise, quite funny! Their enthusiasm for all things Jane Austen was infectious, making the visit both educational and thoroughly enjoyable. If you're a fan of Austen's works or just curious about her life, this is a must-visit destination. And let's not forget the charming tea service and the delectable English-style pastries! Indulging in a cup of tea and savoring those delightful treats in the elegant surroundings of The Jane Austen Centre added an extra layer of authenticity to the experience. It's the perfect way to immerse oneself in the world of Jane Austen. Truly, a visit to this center is incomplete without treating yourself to this delightful culinary experience and did I mention? only there to support my wife!

Really enjoyable visit. The actors made it fun and informative and it was fun to dress in regency clothes. A pleasant tea room (although on second floor if you don't like steps!) and interesting gift shop. Great for finding out about the Austen family and Jane's writing journey.

A pretty small museum showcasing the short life of this great English novelist. The ticket included a guided session that brought us through Jane Austen’s family and life. The whole session and tour can be completed in less than an hour. The staff on site are all dressed in the same era and are all more than happy to pose for pictures. Great for Jane Austen fans. I really enjoyed it. On the top floor of the building there is a cute little tearoom where you can get English tea and cakes but we had to leave to have lunch somewhere else.

I am a huge Jane Austen fan, so this visit has been on my list for a long time. The Centre provided detailed history on JA and her family, some of which I had not heard or read about. The tour also provided activity options (quill & ink writing, and regency costume dress-up & photos) that I fully participated in! The gift shop is delightful and I recommend booking the afternoon tea. Capital!

The actors/tour guides were great. The museum is small but the dedicated staff make up for it. I learned about Jane’s family and her history of living in Bath. You really get a sense of her inspirations from her life experiences. I particularly enjoyed seeing the men in period costume! Mr. Knightly and Lady Catherine were favorites, but the guy greeting people out front was pretty hilarious!

IF YOU are a fan of her books than this is must to visit 🙂 First of all , it's better to get a tour guide ,it helps quiet alot . Secondly , after buying tickets they tell you to wait in a waiting room if there is still time for your tour to get started ! Then a lady comes in shouting and welcomes you which can startle you as well 😬😂 For me it was nice to get a tour in time 😃. But the girl who was giving tour was a bit extra loud inbetween which was not the need of explaining about jane austen and her history.. she said she was doing so no one sleeps which was ridicilous and irritating as well because she shouted quiet on the face which was utterly not professional as no one visits there to sleep !!!!😒🙄 You get to see pictures of her family in a room she takes you and explains all about jane's family , how she started writing , got engaged for just 12 hours lol 😂 than not engaged !! How she died and where she lived !! Then there is a movie theater as well where a couple tell story about jane and here house where she lived how it was destroyed during bombing !! 😔☹️ Then you can try biscuits there , smell perfumes and try clothing on from thar century which is quiet interesting 😃 You can try hats and take pictures with the handsome famous darcy 🥰😄 Then you can proceed towards the gift shop . It's so expensive though , so much expensive , but if you still like to buy something , you can buy soaps there 😃 Overall nice to see something related to her and to live her PRIDE AND PREJUDICE BOOK FOR A WHILE 🥰

As a lifelong fan of Jane Austen, I was so excited to get to finally visit Bath and soak up everything Austen for a few days. Best part was visiting this brilliant museum which covers her life, her works and is set in a house similar to the one she lived in on the same street. Loved the talk from Mr Wickham and the chance to write with quill and ink but topping it all off was getting dressed up to pose with Mr Darcy! We also had tea and cake in the tearoom. Loved it all!

As a Janeite, this was top of my list to visit in Bath! The actors were brilliant and super friendly! The exhibitions were really interesting, I particularly enjoyed dressing up and having my picture taken with Mr Darcy, meeting Jane Austen's waxwork and trying my hand at writing with a quill and ink! You also get 10% off the Regency Tea Room and Gift Shop with your ticket! Would definitely recommend! :)

Truly a fabulous experience for any Jane Austen fan, casual or more knowledgeable. Talks run every 20 minutes and an adult ticket is £14.75 online so booking ahead is a good idea! After the talk downstairs area has a small museum of regency era objects and fashion, an area for dress up, a desk where you can write with a quill and ink. Upstairs is a tea room, I didn't go, but I've heard good things. There's also a gift shop with books, jewellery and other Jane Austen merch.

I have a friend back home who loves Jane Austin's work and so stopping here for gift for her was a must do. I found several in the tiny gift shop and some for myself as well. All the staff were wonderful. I was in UK during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee ... truly a once in a lifetime event, so think this is why Jane's figure outside was holding British flag and you see Jubilee bunting on the next door fence. In the shop loved the Christmas ornaments and chose one of Emma for my friend since she named one of her daughters after that character. Wanted a Mr Darcy for myself 😉 but none available.

Went with my mum and sister for a Jane Austen themed day out and the centre didn’t disappoint. Absolutely loved our talk by the charismatic Henry Crawford and learned something new about Jane’s life despite being big fans. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff who were happy to take lots of photos of us with Mr Darcy. Cannot recommend enough!! Thank you

Wonderful experience! The staff dress up in period costumes which was a highlight of the centre. Staff knew all the things about Austen and there were some cute dioramas throughout the museum. At the end there is a dress up station where you can put on an outfit and take a picture next to Mr. Darcy. Also had some lovely letters from Emma Thompson and other actors in Austen films. Highly recommend if you are an Austen fan!

We went to this amazing experience as a Birthday treat for my wife who is a massive Jane Austen fan. The staff were brilliant and made this a very special experience for her. Can not recommend this highly enough.

Lots of fun! It was really cool learning more about Jane and her writings! The tea time was quite expensive but worth it if you love the idea of after tea and biscuits. We had a small plate but enjoyed the experience! There is also a small gift shop. We really enjoyed it! Thank you, Jane Austen Centre!

Absolutely delightful. The employees were great and knowledgeable, and the displays were interesting. Loved getting to try on an Austen-era dress and hat! Tickets for the afternoon sold out by the time I got there, so I was glad to have purchased a ticket in advance.

Hot and stuffy upstairs in the tea room. Windows painted shut and owner won’t let them turn on the a/c mini split. That was the biggest negative. However, the service was great. Our waitperson as so nice and we had a great time. Sandwiches were dry but it was tea in Bath so it was great

At your arrival, you are greeted by Mr Bennett himself. Soon after Miss Elizabeth Bennett took us upstairs to learn a bit about the Jane Austen family. From there we watched a campy, but fun short film about Bath and the places from Austen’s life. Later we walked through the rest of this small and quaint museum honoring the writer. My wife and I even dressed up in Regency attire and posed with Mr Darcy. That gave me the chance to show off the sideburns I had grown for the occasion - pretty pitiful (see picture with Mr Bennett!). If you like Jane Austen and are in Bath, you need to see this quaint and entertaining tribute to one of the greatest writers of all time.

A really small museum dedicated to Jane Austin’s work. I enjoyed it very much. There was a lovely presentation done by a woman impersonating one of the characters from Pride and Prejudice. For me there was way too much multimedia. Two movies for 15-20 min each, presentation for about 15min and then a brief walking around. Overall you can spend an hour. At the end there is a chance for you to dress up and take pictures. The gift shop is nice. You get 10percent off with your ticket. Overall, great place illustrating the time period and the work of Jane Austin but lots of movies.. which you can simply watch at home.

Didn't get the opportunity to go to the tea room unfortunately, but I had a really splendid time as an avid Jane Austen fan! It was great customer service in the gift shop and the actors portraying characters were simply the best. My favorite was the one that "set the stage" for us, Mr. Charles Musgrove! Lots of cool facts, a couple of fun activities such as a photo op and writing with a quill, and it was a wonderful tribute and homage to one of the best writers in my opinion.

Loved to meet the fellow Bennetts🤣🤣. Great docents and a fine museum. The gift shop has commissioned items that are a good value, of cheap, but often hand mad, in the UK.

Fantastic historic place to visit. Dress up in Georgian clothing and have your photo taken.

The tour was very good! but the Tea Room was quite underwhelming.. unfortunately the cutlery was not clean, there were tea stains in the cups which made things feel overall, quite disappointing. the food was average in taste, and pricey. would recommend to go for the exhibition tour though, it was a fun experience as there were opportunities for you to try on the costumes would have given the tea room experience a 2 star, the exhibition tour a 4.5 (:

Very cute little establishment. I enjoyed learning more about the beloved author. The actors were great too. The movie they made was pretty cute.
