I am giving this restaurant a 5 star rating and I have reasons for this. This hotel compound has both Veg and Nonveg a/c restaurant as separate sections. The compound also has a general store, a separate tea/coffee place facing the highway. It has a clean and large washroom area, And also ample parking space. This is the ideal place to stop before climbing the Kodaikanal mountains and also and ideal place to stop once you come down from the Kodaikanal mountains. This is a ideal utility highway hotel with good food. I went to this place for having lunch on my return journey from Kodaikanal. The moment the hill road finishes you will find the hotel compound. We chose to go to the NonVeg restaurant and we ordered some dishes which were suggested by the waiter. The main dishes we ordered were Thalapakatti biriyani, chicken starter, roti and the default rice , sambar, rasam and curd. The Biriyani and Chicken starter was star of the meal. Obviously other items were equally good. The Biriyani was definitely the hero. You also get local Goli soda here, which is also good. Overall the food experience was very very premium. This hotel scores more in the Price point because its lower than the nearby restaurants. Mark this place in your map if you are travelling to Kodaikanal.

Family (and ladies friendly), easy and tidy pit stop to/from Kodaikanal down the ghat and on the main Theni - Batlagundu/Dindigul Road. This place has become a regular visit for us after every trip to Devadhanappati Moongilanai Kamatchi Amman Temple. Eden Garden Restaurant has undergone a make over in March 2020 and looks fabulous now. Clean tables and nice ambience, has choices for vegetarian food and meals (rice) is available almost till 4 pm being a hotel serving the Kodaikanal travellers. Meals was tasty (just enough to satisfy he hunger, don't expect a feast though). Some side dishes were too spicy and won't be tolerable for kids. Sambar, Rasam and Payasam were tasty. Reasonably priced (Rs 100 for unlimited meals). Restaurant also has candies, a variety of pickles and rice-mix powders. We dint buy anything. Has enough car parking space for 20+ vehicles and toilets were clean. Toilet has been moved from right side of the building to he back side and has been renovated. Overall a good place for a break while commuting to Kodai or Periyakulam from Madurai or Dindukkal.

This is the Only decent lodge to stay near Batlagundu & it’s a very new place well planned just 4 months since it’s open & excellent location. Only negative experience was no availability of hot water & the reason being the heater is solar powered which irresponsible response considering it’s cloudy & cold half the year in this area. Also the price can be expensive ranges from 1,700 to 2,700 INR. At the same time our rooms were excellent but it would have been better with views to the lake across the road which was blocked by the Hotel name metal display.

Whenever we come to Kodaikanal, we visit this Restaurant as this one is located in a convenient place with a very big parking space. The lunch is good with NV gravies and two side dishes, No appalam or payaasam for NV lunch. The quantity of the NV dishes are very less though the taste is good. Though they still maintain that mudpot cooking, they've stopped so many things post Corona. We've ordered NV meals with Nattu Kozhi Pepper fry, Prawn 65, Karandi Omlette, Butter Naan and Butter Chicken. Nattu Kozhi Pepper fry was spicy and good but Butter Chicken is very sweet and not went well with Naan. The Prawn 65 is with Besan and rice floor and not a good choice. Apart from the restaurant, there's a small exotic bird exhibition there and the entry fee is Rs.200 (!) The restrooms should be maintained cleanly with some perfumed phenyl or else it is not advisable to visit there post your lunch. Overall, a good place, needs improvement to attract more customers.
