Highly recommended to foreigners and locals too. Very cheap prices with really good services. ( Clean rooms with free WiFi / clean washrooms / Rooftop pool and rooftop area with great outside view / kitchen area with refrigerator ) if you're looking for a low budget hotel, this is the place. Hope they will add some food options for customers (mini restaurant).

I have stayed here twice already. Very good price and amenities as well. Free WiFi, breakfast and tea and coffee all day. The rooms and bed are good and comfortable. The only thing missing for me is a privacy curtain on the capsule. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the location is the best part of this place, it is far from the airport but everything is far from the airport unless you stay in negembo. The other highlight of this place is the roof and the jacuzzi/mini pool. The first time I stayed there were lot of people and the place was full of energy, the next time it was at start of the season to lesser people.

The location is close to several good spots to grab food- both cheap and more expensive options. It's also about a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach. The capsuls are clean, the AC is cold and the staff were super personable and bent over backwards to make sure our stay was awesome. Met tons of cool people here and had some Lion Lagers on the roof as the sun was setting. Great rooftop view. I'd recommend this spot to anyone.

Island Hostel was a great spot. Price is great for the location, the beach is a short walk, and the view of the ocean from the roof is amazing. All the staff members were always helpful and continually making peoples experience better. Beds were good and bathrooms were kept clean. The AC was COLD if you kept it running. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone passing through or staying for a while.

Nice hostel. Good location and friendly staff. Located fairly close to the railway station, so it was convenient for us. We stayed in the private room for 2 nights. Don't come here for the pool, it's tiny.

One of the best hostels I have ever been to. Good AC clean rooms, hot water in the bathrooms always, and a pool on the rooftop. I will definitely go back if I am in Colombo!

This is the best hostel in Mount Lavinia. Rooftop kitchen, the views and access to private beach. Close to the railway station, so you can travel somewhere on the coastal track. Lot of evening activities are also arranged every night. I highly recommend this hostel

Friendly hostel with great breakfasts and good facilities. Air conditioned dorms with secure compartments to store valuables (BYO padlock). They even have a rooftop pool. Cheap refills of water bottles to save on plastic. Thanks for a good stay. It was a bit hard for my Uber driver to find from the airport, but it is only slightly up the hill from the Mt Lavinia train station.

This hostel is on point. An absolute surprise to say the least. Rooms are A/C and if it's not the right temp just ask at reception they will sort it. They have a roof terrace with a great little pool in it and and kitchen/lounging area all have great 360 views of Mount Lavinia. Its 5 minutes to the beach and less to the train station. Also 5 minutes to the main road with busses, supermarkets and for the weak of heart and mind a McDonald's.

Very nice sleeping quarters, A/C, would be nice with a lock for the lockers. Very clean overall and 24/7 friendly and helpful staff. Close to supermarket. The men's bathroom on my floor really smelled like rotten fish tho, the pipes probably need a good cleanse.

Clean rooms and dorms. Nice staff and superb food. The pool on the roof is really nice to watch the sunset in. Always cold beer and fun on the rooftop. Best hostel on my Sri Lanka trip.
