Have been using this guest house for the past three years. Sadly, this time they don't understand the value of their old customers. I was denied to check in for a confirmed room and rate. Would have stayed for a month and they denied it for the sake of greed. Greed doesn't help any business and this review is for the management to understand that you should know how to keep commitments even when someone has offered more on an already confirmed booking.

Rooms are a bit small and without TV apart from that a Wonderful Experience! AC and hot shower both work very well. The Manager Mr Shan is a very Nice and Caring Person. I went to Badulla and Kandy for a couple of days and left my Luggage here Mr Shan stored and took care of my Luggage Very Nicely! Will Definitely stay here again and Recommend it because of very caring and courteous staff especially Mr Shan. Location is also Good!

Room is good but their are so much mosquitos.And their was a unpleasant smell in room.No light in balcony. Can't lock balcony doors.can't close window curtains properly.

Very bad, we booked and paid through Agoda, but when we reached early morning at 2:30 am, they refused to give us the room saying they are no more in partnership with angoda. We had to pay 7500/+ for a small room for 6hours and we left for another hotel. Very bad

This place offered me a clean and comfortable stay. Great value for money. I felt it was a safe and decent place for a solo female traveller. The room and bathroom was quite small, but had the basics in place and was clean and functional. There was quite a nice public balcony space and I enjoyed a very short stay here.

The room was okay with air conditioning. It looked like the number of beds were more than the room size which lead to a congestion between beds. Or the room size was a bit small which i would say.There were lockers to keep our items but the locks weren't working, as the lamp condition was same. The main thing was if person sleeping on the top bed just turns his position, the one sleeping down can just know because of the movement of the beds. Toilet had hot and cold water but no proper soap though Toilet were clean.

HATE IT!!!! Poor quality in rooms. Nothing in the bathrooms. Not even soaps. My experience was HORRID!!! Staff is really unkind and unfriendly! If you are a guest, DO NOT GO THERE!!! Don't book it!!! Really unpleasant and not clean at all. Their food is such a waste of money!!! Really expensive food with no quality at all! WOULD NEVER GO OR RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!! If you are a local don't go there. If you are a foreigner don't book this. They say it's cheap but trust me it's no where cheap!!!

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The ACs dont work properly and neither do the toilets.

Has a view but not perfect.. also space is not enough for two people to stay kinda feel like trapped but it was clean

For a few days in Colombo, this is an excellent place to stay. It's budget-friendly, conveniently located for public transport, and accessible by PickMe and Uber. Vehicle parking is available.

Thambili Island just like any other hostels, will be far from perfect, but what makes this hostel great is that there is a sense of family. A home. The manager, Mr. Thiyaga, together with his team, Surya and Thanaka, are so warm and accommodating. They treat all of their guests like a family. I encoujtered a big problem during my vacation in Sri Lanka, but they made my stay as comfortable and as positive as possible. They truly best represent the Sri Lankan people --- helpful and sincere. I will make sure that I will stay at Thambili Island once I'm back in Sri Lanka. Here, you can truly feel like it's your second home. Godbless and more power.

The best place to get all your island wear and resort wear clothing sorted. Great selection, great service and excellent shopping environment that you can get lost in for hours. Definite must visit.

It's been two years actually. Me and my team stayed here for about a week, the staffs are really kind, helpful, and we changed some culture, food etc. This place became the witness of our effort, cry, smile and our winning for choir championships. Thank you!

Good clean quite hostel with few private rooms. Love rooftop terrace. Small kitchen for guests use. Living area not quite. Would recommend knocking out few tables amd put big pool table in the middle.

Stayed in a dormitory. 4 bunk beds (8 people). Air conditioned room. Power socket and a private light for each bed. Comfortable beds. Hot water. Clean bathroom. Strict polices against inside smoking. Very good hostility even for locals, quality service. Total bill just 8 dollars.

Great staff. Very helpful. Just walking distance around around the centre of Colombo. Some of the place is under construction when I came. And I hope they would give their guest a room which is ready to be rested and clean and slept on for we all come tired. Right? Other than that. It is a nice hostel. Enjoy your vacation!

we stayed two nights. Room was so comfortable and there was a big mirror on the corner which we can see our face even when we sleep. pvt Balcony with chairs and table was really good to have a relax and watch the city. Location was very close to shopping mall and restaurant. specially receptionist Mr Shan was so friendly and courteous. we highly recommend this hotel for anyone.

Very nice hotel close to the centre. Clean rooms, ac, comfortable bed. The price could be a bit lower, but for Colombo it's reasonable. They have two fridges that you can always use which is great. They will also store your extra baggage. The staff is friendly and helpful.

During my stay I was woke every morning (between 7-9) by loud residents and staff. Although I am a fairly light sleeper I was wearing ear plugs and this hasn't been an issue in 4 months travelling Asia. Hostel is out of the hectic city centre but maybe a bit to far out, although tuktuk cabs are really cheap. There is a sign saying no outside food but when we order from the menu this service wasn't available. There are also options in the surrounding area. Hot shower and clean room and many might really enjoy. Just not for us on this occasion.

I will not recommend this place to anyone. It was worse stay, once I enter the room it was smelling something after that I ask the room boy to spray some air freshener I did the same thing but he doesn't have any housekeeping or basic knowledge. The bathroom was not clean properly even though I didn't find the toilet paper as well. The next day after I woke up I saw some red color marks on my all body I got shocked, after that I suspect it was an ant or some insects bite I just open all windows and check around the room I saw many little spiders around the bed chair and floor area. Once I check out of the room I checked another area (the public area) the same thing I found after that I did complain to the reception guy he took it's as an easy thing and said oh “the first time I got like this complain” what to say they don't know even how to treat their customers thanks for the complymentary gift. If your choosing this area don't think about the your budget go for another good property.

A nice place for a short stay, the person at the office was nice, good quality price rate. But it wasn't very clean, the painting in the wall was falling in the bathroom.
